First and foremost, THANK YOU DRS. B & LI, for putting out this video. It takes lots of time and effort to prepare content for producing a video!
THANK YOU BOTH also for mentioning your books,
so that those viewers who want more details regarding the material mentioned in this video
can access it from the books which you both have worked sooooo hard to put together.
THANK YOU FOR PROACTIVELY PROMOTING YOUR WORKS!
YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT AND EVERY NEED TO DO SO!
This is YOUR platform, this is YOUR channel, this is YOUR hard work, this is YOUR message.
So what if there’s money earned at the end from books being bought? So what if there’s endorsement fee at the end?
WHY SHOULDN’T THESE DOCTORS BE ENTITLED TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THEIR TIME & HARD WORK?
Why is it ok for the Big Pharma & Big Food to advertise their shit to every corner of the internet, raking TRILLIONS from you and sending you & your family into the hospitals every year?
DR. B& DR. LI,
PLEASE PLEASE CONTINUE THE INCREDIBLE WORK YOU ARE DOING!!! There a a huge percentage of you tubers who APPRECIATE SOOOOOO MUCH what you are putting out.
And this huge percentage of us will HELP YOU TO PROMOTE YOUR BOOKS TOO.
TO US, you are Heaven-Sent!!!!
May you be blessed in every way, health & WEALTH, for the works you are doing!!!!!! the junk food industry and Pharma industry are earning TRILLIONS, selling poison to us.
There is absolutely NO REASON why you should not be well compensated for the works you guy do!!
T. H. A. N. K. Y. O. U. again, for the bottom of our hearts!!!!!
I've gone from having "IBS" (personally a get out clause I think when no one knows what's going on with you) to getting sicker and sicker. Eventually I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance and heliobacter pylori.
After I ate gluten free and got rid of the terrible organism h pylori is, I got well. I then made it my mission to eat more and more plants. I am now often told that I look younger than I am, that I have loads of energy.... I still want to learn more.
Thanks so much for this... People who are offended by you guys plugging your books are possibly the same people that won't take health advice anyway, your video is fascinating and despite the fact I'm very well read about the microbiome I learnt so much new stuff. I can't wait to catch up with the rest of the series. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely everything you say I'm very grateful to learn more about what's happening to my gut thank you
Using Dr. Li's philosophy to currently fight stage IV cancer, eating pomegranates and lots of
Cruciferous vegetables. Was suppose to be dead by now. Doing chemotherapy and Radiation too and preparing for when and, if possible, taking immune therapy-changing my "right kind " of microbiome pattern with the diet(pomegranates) and exercise, plus the strength and drive of my children. I believe it's working and it's really amazing to see such amazing Doctors such as yourselves . I have bought five copies of Dr. Li's book and given two to my Oncologist and Radiologists my son and daughter a RD with a Master's Degree, and myself so that we are all on board together. Fighting cancer is a full-time operation 24/7 and it's all hands on deck 365 and it's very good to have the assistance and advice of such people as you two too, thank you.
I’m so excited to have two of the most knowledgeable Doctors shares about the gut microbial, I trust their expertise also learned so much from it.....thank both of the doctors for educating the public about the importance of microbial gut health !
Come on chaps - using the first 15 minutes to indulge in a mutual love in, was a bit frustrating to watch when we're mostly wanting hard facts and information. I get that you have to start with the basics, but there seemed to be a very great number of words about not very much of real use.
My thoughts exactly, so annoying
Very interesting talk but please remember that we're not here to hear how much you admire each other, or to hear you shamelessly plugging your books. If you forget the reason for the talk (giving us information) you're forgetting that a lot of people will have put time aside from their busy lives to hear the science not the mutual admiration.
Agreed.
Probably 10 minutes of information amid the waffle and the love in.
I’ve read both of their books and through them my health has improved dramatically. Personally, I think it’s encouraging to see two doctors with different views on animal products come together and support each other in such an honorable way. 👏🏻
Maybe it was a touch too long but I think it adds credibility to have some background about the authors.
Maybe they did put in a bit too much ‘waffle’ but these guys are giving us useful, free information. May I suggest you watch it as ‘catch-up’ so you can fast forward. Have a great day and stay safe!
So the series is copyrighted "eat to beat disease" which is the name of Dr Li's book. I'm still trying to learn more about Zoe. I thought that Prof Spectre ran it at kings college London. I also know he ran a twins study.
Today's email (no2) offers 10% off your purchase.
This is becoming like lots of other things that I've signed up for that end up just being hooks to get you to buy books, video series etc.
Is this an American thing that Tim works for?
The audience seem full of Brits and we are all here because we signed up to the Zoe symptom study which I'm pretty sure is UK based.
How I love Dr. Will Bulsiewics.
His personality resonates every bit with me.
And thank you Dr. Li, I admire your humanity. Knowing you has been a blessing.
Love and blessings, always!
It's so great how we are all changing the lives of others for the better. You've changed my life, Dr. B, so it was heart-warming to hear how Dr. Li changed yours. I don't have your knowledge, but I tell people about you and your work, plus I show them how all of this works for me. Hopefully, by doing this, I'll manage to change someone's life for the better too.
What does a person do, then, to compensate for a cesarean birth and being bottle fed?
Greetings from the UK. You've both hit the nail on the head. 20yrs ago i became ill. I lost a lot of weight, kept being sick, couldn't keep food down. Went to the Dr who kept looking for Cancer. I told them it wasn't Cancer. It accured everytime I ate. They said they couldn't find anything wrong. Over the past 20yrs I looked at food and how the body works with it. I've now changed my diet drastically and it's worked.
I've been interested in this for over two years . I am lactose intolerant, so lots to learn and much appreciation to all the speakers.
Please please be careful about giving the impression people are able to cure themselves of cancer with the right diet. It may well be significant, but I've worked with too many dying people who have foregone conventional treatment in preference to coffee enemas etc, or who are full of guilt that they've not been able to cure themselves
@XlH42g3G Yes - agree. That's basically what I was meaning above - even if much morbidity/mortality is diet and lifestyle related - care must be taken in how information about diet etc is passed on
Agreed, I was gobsmacked to hear this. I lost a good friend who tried alternative treatments. She died prematurely and had spent thousands of pounds.
@Harriet Copperman absolutely agree .. I'm all for a healthy microbiome but please don't infer that people will survive cancer if they eat the correct foods
@HarrietCopperman, I so agree. I too, have seen people who were so believing that a particular diet - be it the Gerson, Ketogenic…whatever…that they would be cured. Well, not in the ones I witnessed, and there have sadly been quite a few.
@@rosies3622 I just hope they see these comments and take them on board. Although the whole topic is interesting, I can see other issues - lots of people are already 'addicted' and obsessed about monitoring their lifestyle through smart watches etc, and I can envisage this whole programme causing similar problems in susceptible people.
😁 😁 😁
Thousands of THANKS SO MUCH for
uploading this interview with Dr. Will BULSIEWICZ.
Both of you are such a ( TOP NOTCH MAGNIFICIENT HEALTH & FOOD ) Experts.
Both of your presents are such a BLESSING for our Planet EARTH.
Oh joy! This interview is music to my ears and gives me so much hope and optimism for the future health of us all. So interesting, informative, empowering and refreshing. Thank you both!
This is life-changing information. As a food and nutrition science major who started college classes 50 years ago, my classmates, many of whom went on to medical, dental, pharmacy, and nursing schools, think I’m out in left field when I parrot what I read and hear about the gut microbiome’s importance. How do we spread the word to all the practicing health professionals who are still treating patients in ignorance?
2 eminent scientists but not much that was helpful. A lot of mutual back slapping.
I read that as 'book slapping'
Yes, that's fine if you know about the gut microbiome. But many people watching this may not know or understand about it, and are going to get valuable information about how to improve their dietary pattern.
I knew that our gut health was very important for our bodies but I didn't truly understand to what extent it impacted us. I've found this session really interesting and look forward to the rest of the series. Thank you!
Speaking as an English listener, I found that rather too much of this talk consisted of these two medical gentlemen paying fulsome compliments to one another! I suspect that there is an underlying cultural difference between the UK and the USA. Sorry, but I I found this pair really cringe-worthy. Less about themselves please.
Agreed
Same
I agree, I found a lot of information risked getting lost in all of the frou-la-la, and had to skip the last five minutes because I found it unbearable.
This is normal for the USA and all you have to do is skip the first few minutes.
It would be better to prepare a presentation with key points rather than this vague, self-congratulatory waffle and plugging of their books -not something appreciated by a British audience! This kind of talk is aimed for an American audience, not a British one, which prefers detailed, evidence-based information not this twaddle. Really quite shocked that educated people feel that this sort of ill prepared rambling is acceptable.
I am loving this session. Its exciting and you can hear the passion with which these two researchers have for what I think is a critical area of learning about health and our bodies.
Thank you Dr. Li and Dr. B. Looking forward to another discussion tomorrow. Reading your books have ignited a passionate interest in the microbiome in me!
Looking forward to learning more! I like the enthusiasm shown by both doctors!
Great to see how passionate you both are about your work and your enthusiasm is infectious. I love food and have a wide ranging diet and now I shall think harder about what I eat in terms of gut health.
This introductory video was far too much of a mutual love-in for my taste. Looking forward to them getting down to the crux of the issue.
It was wasn’t it. But I actually loved that!
Very grateful for your time and this series. Thank you
This conversation is so exciting! I can't hear enough about it as I make this transition to ridiculous amounts of plants in my food. Feels fabulous
So excited for this live broadcast. Hello from Wisconsin.
Thrilled that you're doing this. I recently finished the book Fiber Fueled which is excellent! And Dr. Li, I drink an anti-angiogenesis green tea that was inspired by one of your TED Talk slides (Japanese Sencha and Chinese Jasmine Dragon Pearls from Brooklyn Tea!). You do truly amazing work. Thank you both.
Thank you so much for having this series and sharing your knowledge with us.
I LOVE DR WILLIAM BOOK & ALWAYS ASK MY PATIENTS TO USE HIS BOOK TO TREAT THEIR DISEASE TRU DIET & FOODS THAT WE EAT
Yes the love in was a bit pukey but some some excellent nuggets of info BUT when will Zoe food ( not Covid study) become available in the UK? I think we have been waiting 2 years now or something similar. Always directed to, and want to, ‘ join Zoe’ but can’t.
Little cliquey moment going on in this thread. I did not get that impression at all. I concentrated on hearing facts.
This is such important work. Here is an opportunity to change and improve so many lives and reduce some of the pressure on our NHS.
I expect this partnership to be epic!!!
Very interesting how the mother and baby's microbiomes are linked.
Well Done you two !
Thank you! Looking forward to listening tomorrow.
I hoped for 3pm start but did not account for daylight savings time in the UK.
I have suffered with gut problems for a few years and have made a few changes to my eating habits but I am hoping you will help me understand more about the reason I am experiencing these problems. Really enjoyed listening and watching the video . Thank you
Good to see this info getting more main stream. GB doctors are still in the Stone Age regarding the gut micro biome/health connection.
The US and UK food manufacturers have been fuelling our ill health for decades.
Presentation style a bit uncomfortable for a UK audience I think, but we’ll manage 😁
Ain't that the truth. If governments REALLY wanted to keep their citizens safe, they would do something about the food landscape - ultra-processed food available on demand, 24/7, cheap and tasty. Oh but we want it, apparently. How convenient for the industrial food manufacturers.
Very interesting discussion by two knowledgeable people. Can't wait until Zoe launches in the UK. Currently participating in Dr William Li's online course having read his book. The book is stunning. just ordered Fibre Fuelled, a treat to look forward to!
Thank you, great to learn more from 2 experts.
Hands up who winced when Dr Li said “counting your shekels” 🙋♀️ And again when he incorrectly referred to multiple personalities in relation to schizophrenia 🙋♀️
Absolutely winced too at his mention of multiple personalities 😠
What number did he say this on?
They give the information freely and we do need to know their background. Don't be so grumpy about how they admire each other, and not everyone is up to scratch about science.
Excellent! Thank you so much!
I’ve read just about everything written on this subject over the last few years but this is live, so hopefully new!
Thank you - an excellent & insightful presentation, which confirms much of what I have already studied. As for some of the comments below about the mutual congratulation of the speakers ........... come on folks. These are specialists who are giving up their time to educate the public. They are just making the chat relatively informal, and they have every right to push their books a bit !
They're 'giving up their time' partly to sell more books!!!
Do we know that they are giving up their time? They could easily be charging a fee.
@Fiana Tulip it's not free as in freely giving information away. There are loads of these health podcasts on UA-cam which reel you in then ask you to sign up for more information/supplements etc. This is copyright the same name as his book. This is nothing like Prof Spectre is doing with the Zoe symptom study. This is Dr Li self publicising.
This was absolutely fascinating! Thank you. I wish Zoe was available to Canadians.
I have been following Dr. William Li for a few months and even bought his book. I have a question for him that I hope he will respond to. One of the 5 categories in the book Eat to Beat Disease is angiogenesis. Cancer cells are also looking for a blood supply, so if we are increasing angiogenesis in normal, healthy cells, how are cancer cells also not benefiting from the same angiogenesis?
I do not follow scientists - I listen and analyse what they find out
@@lancastersmarketinganddesi2459 how exactly might that answer help the questioner?
WHEN is this program going to be available in the UK?? We would love someone to please answer this question.
Brilliant introduction! Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing so much of your personal intense education and giving of yourselves to numerous videos educating all of us .
I want so much to eat leafy greens but due to an accident , dentition and lacking a partial gag reflex on the left of my throat , leaves cause airway obstruction . Dentition causes many afraid of hard nuts, etc. , slippery foods like leafy greens
etc.
Any help ?.
Is there a site where I can ask a question about the topic, please? Thanks
Five minutes of content crammed into 45 minutes. Oh, and buy our books.
You took the words out of my mouth - as much a five minutes of content though ? :-/
Anne S.
I've been interested in individual differences in what we eat and metabolism for years and years. Apart 2 pregnancies I have not put on weight since my late teens, which in medical terms borders normal. I've long eaten what would be regarded as a healthy diet but I still break the rules sometimes and would love to know more of the science of my individual gut microbiome.
Thank you very much for all the knowledge you have provided for us. ❤️❤️🙏🙏
I hate all the commercials and its what will prevent me from listening to future ones if they continue
Hi! I have post-infectious gastroparesis. Looking forward to learning more about how my diet may help ease symptoms.
Interesting and I look forward to the coming sessions.
It was hard to quiet my cynical mind: 2 people who are passionate about a similar topic and who both wrote a book….. well, it can sound like an infomercial.
Cutting through the talk, 2 takeaways: get most calories from plants and eat a large diversity of plans as both will help develop a “good” gut which helps with almost all aspects of your health.
I fear the plant based diet being the best is more of an opinion than a fact. There are all sorts of faddy diets. I would welcome a more fact based talk from the Zoe team.
@@aaaaancly I probably noted that as I’ve been in a “got to eat more fresh fruits & veges” mindset. By choice my plant-based calories would be 75% cake, 10% bread, and 15% wine which probably isn’t what is meant.
@@kc218 haha....
I'm all for using personalised nutrition to maintain a healthy microbiome, and I can't wait for ZOE to be available in the UK, but I'm sorry Will Bulsiewicz, please don’t use this platform to sell your books, it's tasteless and gives the wrong impression. Professor Tim Spector never does this; please stop using these videos to get people to buy your stuff
Thank you both... finally quality in medicine & health...
Rather disappointed with this talk as I have been so impressed with Tim Spectre on covid. Compared to his well presented approach I did find this rather inferior and a bit theatrical and they are both plugging their books. Maybe it will improve so will stay with it as it’s such an interesting topic. Just wish Tim was presenting it!!
Is it the difference between UK and US. The way we talk and act?
Thank you for your talk. Looking forward to hearing tomorrow's talk. I talk to my patients all the time about looking after their microbiome. I will be getting Fibre Fueled straight away. It's a pity that Zoe is not up and running in the UK yet (thanks Covid-19!)
The Book advert is working!
Yes the time error is confusing - It'll be to do with our daft summertime time change that hasn't happened yet - when 4.0 o'clock does come around - I'm expecting good things.
It seems that most of the contributers to the comments could do with changing their gut biome for them to become less negative in life.
Looking forward to this.
Thankyou fir bringing tgevscientists together in this series, when I had expected it in the paid course I did earlier in tge tear.
Hi from Hawkhurst Kent UK
Hello from Kentucky!
Welcome you and your team
I would like to thank you both so much I will definitely be tomorrow many thanks for what you are doing
Please give advice on how to get rid of candida/yeast in the gut. Or aren't the doctors taught this in med school?
Really interesting. Thanks!
Thanks so much to Zoe for sharing this
I would love the opportunity to join the Zoe research but its not yet available in the UK. Loved this first episode and I'll be back for the 2nd
Thanks both doctors for sharing knowledge in this program. A good introduction of the subject. Dr B is the host and many criticism and constructive suggestions expressed in the comments could be managed better by Dr B in his future programs - less self promotion and more content.
May the Lord bless both of you Doctors may He bless your passion with more discoveries
What an awesome contribution to humanity,! Im blessed
Thanks for bringing new emphasis on this very important medical area. I think that there is overwhelming evidence of how important gut bacteria is. Why is it that it has not taken a centre stage in mainstream health care. Also when can we start to get tested for a personalised analysis in the UK. Thanks
What about stress and trauma's impact on the gut microbiome (whether that's psychological or physiological)? Can improving food quality and variety ameliorate the impact of this?
My wife has debilitating bowel issues and in the UK she has had many tests and they just keep saying she's not fitting the criteria to get a diagnosis. How can she get tested to see what needs to be done to help her gut microbiome? In case that is the issue.
Thank you Zoe
Do you have insight knowledge of gastroperisis? My son 26 years old is type 1 insulin diabetic and now diagnosed with gastroperisis with a feeding tube through stomach. There is limited support through our gp and hospital here in England. Any help advise would be so appreciated
Great Thank you
To fully personalise a diet you also need a nutrigenomics test done (nutritional DNA test) - our genes are involved in collecting, processing and delivering nutrients. If any of these genes are damaged (none of us have perfect genes) or inefficient then we don’t absorb vitamins and minerals properly. This could explain (as Dr Li mentioned) why some people recover really well from diseases (such as cancer) and others don’t. Maybe the future sessions will discuss this more. Thanks for providing this essential information free of charge.
Schizophrenia isn't multiple personalities.
I was so annoyed when he gave that misinformation about schizophrenia not good thing to say at all.
Fortunate to be able to share the immense role of the gut microbiome in our overall health with new findings happening at a rapid pace - like the Muscle strength and Alzheimer’s links released just this week
Interesting learning about enjoying good choices of a diverse diet directly affecting the body microbiome and that the microbiome helps to determine metabolism. The wholistic simbiosis of our body and how the microbiome get to be in the body.
That each person has a variety of different biomes which can be modified to enhance health to fit a person's unique biology and needs. Also to understand what each person really enjoys to eat and look more carefully at the healthy ones - the variety and not the volume. Well done, I thought it was OK.
Knowledge Translation (KT) is key to making a difference to underserved and low income families . A simple approach is to encourage and create access to high fiber, nutritious food to allow an intake of roughly 30 grams of fiber daily from diverse sources- DIVERSITY IS KEY
I’m hoping this will help me to understand and help with lactose intolerance and diverticulitis.
Hello from West Sussex. Very interested in this topic.
Hi from sunny Northumberland UK
So interesting and vital information for good health.
I think what we need to change in medicine is that each person is an individual and they need to be treated and diagnosed as such. There is no one size fits all test or treatment
it's 11 EST - when will this play? I just have music
I'm having a real problem with the evangalistical style love in at the start of this. The style is cloying and unscientific. My existing doubts are being reinforced I'm afraid.
how do I get to watch
Brilliant!
Has it started yet? I am just getting music
I don't eat plants at all as when I eat them I feel very unwell. In fact, since I've stopped eating vegetables and fruits I feel much better. As I said earlier it's individual
Thank you so much such an evolving science 😍
Do you have any thoughts on ARFID and other eating disorders?
Looking forward to this - hope I learn a lot
Can micro biome be prevented by the brain from doing things? Or does it override the brain?
