The non-donut chains are merely a distraction, regardless of the length of the chains. As long as you find the donut, the other circles are too small to worry about. You mainly just want to avoid standing directly on top of the orbs while waiting for Parthenos to end in the later one.
Except for the one with no donuts...
You do have to look at all the spheres and find an open space

I'm pretty sure Parthenos is player baited and not just targetted towards a random direction.
This is particularly evident during the later Superchain Theory phase (3:50 in the video) as if players all rush to the long chained donut safe spot before waiting out the Paethenos cast, it will always be aimed at the group of players waiting for the safe dionut to form. Not sure if it's always Main Tank targetted but in the video you can see it fix in the direction of the MT when it starts to cast. If players are all bunched up at the safe donut too early and are hit by the Parthenos, the pushback distance of the attack is purposefully just long enough to punt them off the edge. I've seen this happen in my first runs of the boss as well as in pretty much every video/stream of the fight I've watched since. One second everyone is safe waiting for the long chained donut, next second Parthenos casts and half the group is dead by being punted off into the ether.
Also, IF everyone turns back to Athena during the merge of tethered donut to orb the knockback (should anyone be there early) is less severe; meaning you could just hang onto edge IF you respond quickly with sprint-run. Except for Dragoons. Caution for Dragoons Do not use Elusive Jump at all for any reason during any Anabaseios Raid because there will never be enough platform for it.
It's notewortht that when the platforms start to fall everyone is forbidden from jumping until the arena returns to normal.
So not only can you not be cheeky and try to literally cut corners by jumping to a diagonal area (you have to walk over the adjoining area first), you also can not warn (or be warned by) others where the safe zones are by jumping, which is otherwise a common thing to do.
Can't tell you how many wipes I've had because the healer simply do not know how to handle Trinity of Souls. First Trinity, both heals dead, no dps rezzers, jump off try again. On a more positive note I love offtanking this fight because throwing a nascent flash, heart of corundrum, or blackest knight on the main tank before the tankbuster is so satisfying.
One saved a few parties with my red mage, but it was only necessary after the first week because the tanks were aligning the attack at weird angles, and it's much trickier if not aligned. Recently it's been smooth sailing
Healers see at that stat for critical attack and believe that their ranged attack skill will somehow do more damage then any of the DPS classes including their fellow mage dps classes. Another common misconception by Endwalker Healers is that somehow that bubble every Healer has Does NOT 100% Heal. It reduces damage for a time only and therefore needs be coupled with Healer class All Party Members Near-by Heal while inside the protection bubble. It has to be two button push to work properly and in Anabaseios in particular should be done in combination: One healer casts the bubble while the other does the all party near-by heal to offset the GCDs. But good luck finding 2 healers who work together and will actually execute these skills. I miss healers using them the correct way at the appropriate time; being when we are all bunched up absorbing marked damage or waiting for the stack-up or ring attacks that follow a giant move bunched up together.

For the first time since I started FF14, I couldn't wait for guides and just went into 6.4 blind and it was fun learning what to do and what not to do through practice and now I can hear it explained to double down :D
Yes, early on I didn't know the design language and the fights were incomprehensible.
But now the design language is much more standardized and I know what to look for...
It's very satisfying to understand and follow the flow without help..
But I still come back here sometimes for a point of clarification or two.
Damn thanks, I was having trouble with that 0:35 "wing attack" cleave, I dont watch the Boss due to Normal/Heroic raid experience from WoW this was extremely helpful.

These videos are a huge help for understanding the sheer amount of running around I'll need to be doing. As a Black Mage, it's good to get my expectations in order. And the puns are immensely satisfying!
Question regarding Trinity of Souls, I thought I was clear of the attack only to take damage. Next time I made sure I was no where near the line and still took damage. What am I doing wrong?
Are you aware that the start of the attack snapshots where you are, and even if you move before the main animation goes off, you will be marked to take the hit?
Similarly, when the animation starts, you can immediately move into the aoe and take no damage, since your were snapshoted in the safe area.
If that's not the issue, I don't know why you're getting hit
@@andy4an I know that's why I was hit the first time but as soon as I recognized that this specific attack was happening, I made sure I was not anywhere near the aoe, a few times I didn't even have to move out of the aoe and still got hit with something so I'm wondering if there is something else I'm missing... or rather, not missing to still get afflicted with damage. I haven't run it for a while, so I'll have to try to see if I can just anticipate it better or if something might have been fixed/updated since.
I do know that the animation timing is slightly off, but, being an unhealable black mage, I tend to just stay out of aoes as much as possible. ;)
I had the same thing happen tonight, seven months after your post, on my Red Mage. Definitely not inside it, but hit by Trinity anyhow. Very annoying, if only because of the vulnerability debuff.
@@NicholasGM78 I just ran it last night on a Bard and had absolutely no issues. I thought maybe they fixed it but it seems to be hit or miss. It is frustrating

This raid gave me ptsd 😂 I needed a break with a coffee afterwards. Why becuad I was the fkn healer when everyone kept falling. It took us 6 retries and now I'm back as a tank ffs 😪

That fight for some reasons seems worse the that fucking three, but even if I die more, and many other people die, we still can clean it, it's wierd.
I get insane lag on the wings attacks for some reason, I move when I would with any similar effect and they seem to still hit me 80% of the time. I can see I'm in the same positions as the rest of the group but it clobbers me and misses them.
