this was definitely the worst thing about doing this week one. everyone tried to push their overly complicated strat for intemperance when all you have to do is have a damage dealer and tank swap places for the third explosion
Thank you!!!!! I keep trying to explain that, they just dont acknowledge it... there is never a purple there so switch with tank after the sides set off there own purple is so much easier to handle
As a very, very casual FFXIV player, this is so much to digest and handle. xD It's like when you play the "Blowing In The Wind" or "Someone Like You or whatever on the piano - and then suddenly have to play Chopin sonatas. xD
Savage is definitely a step up, and significantly less forgiving. The good news with most savage fights is that they are VERY structured, and outside of a few slight differences, mechanics go off in a set order almost every time. It's similar to learning a long dance in a way. When I first started doing savages coming over as a wow refugee I would literally type out a cheat sheet of all the mechanics in order for reference and leave it next to my keyboard lol.
This messed me up massively, because I didn't know it could be either or; So when I prepped for what I thought was shackles of time first and got my group killed, I was so lost. I literally thought I somehow mixed up which shining cells it was, and that it was somehow the first one.

@@deliapascal3550 I actually went to Reddit, and posted that I was looking for a static. I found a really good one, and we meet three times per week. I think I got lucky, but I don’t really know. We skipped extreme and jumped right into savage. It’s been three weeks, and we already have p1 - p3 on farm, and are progging p4. It’s been pretty good. so this is my first time watching a guide for these.. and the only criticism i have is you might want to break up your phases and sentences a bit. to me.. alot of it was confusing because it sounded like everything you were saying was running together.
Can someone explain why flexing is needed at 4:51? It looks to me like if north and south goes center at explosion 2 then they can just return to north and south for explosion 3, no flexing required.
because nobody will be in the north square for the 2nd explosion. this will ALWAYS be the case because the patterns are not random - there are only two. the guide doesnt ever mention this let alone begin to explain it and left me rather confused. if the south square is all blue, you have "Pattern 1" and all other squares will ALWAYS be arranged such that each player can move for explosion #2 then back to their home square without worrying about any squares being left unoccupied. thus "Pattern 1" is trivial. "Pattern 2" is the ONLY other pattern and has the south square with two blues and a red at the bottom. in this case the other squares will ALWAYS be arranged so that nobody will want/need to swap to the north square for the 2nd explosion, AND all east-west adjacent squares will ALWAYS have opposite colors which opposites which makes swapping possible. you will never have the south square be blue-red-blue, red on top, etc so basically there are only three possibilities you will ever encounter: 1: south square is blue-blue-red and the explosions go top to bottom. 2: south square is blue-blue-red and the explosions go bottom to top. 3: south square is blue-blue-blue and the explosion order is irrelevant. really makes it about rote memorization rather than being able to see something and react on the fly, which is very meh to me but whatever. hope that was helpful.
@@zxcven not sure why you'd say the guide doesn't mention or explain that there's a limited number of patterns when she directly says "if there's three ice, do this. if there's not three ice, do that but slightly different." your more detailed explanation doesn't make more sense to me personally, and objectively does not simplify anything which is the easiest way to memorize mechanics.
@@Dizqard i said the guide didnt mention that, because, well, it doesnt. it just tells you what to do and if you blindly follow it, things WILL work out. my post was attempting to explain WHY these movements were necessary; it was not meant to be a simplification but an elaboration in order to answer the question that i replied to. sorry that my post did not help you; i wrote it from the angle of trying to understand the mechanic completely instead of rote memorization of known valid solutions.
Watched a couple times and it digested very easily for me. In the long run it's just a few mechanics where sometimes you have to combine them together. Honestly not too bad at all for a savage fight i'll be ready to try it out tonight 👍
I was expecting this to be way more difficult? It took me forever (weeks) to get a clear on e9s (my first savage) but this feels like it could be done in a couple of hours
The boss determines the order of the flails. My guess is the one that lands on the ground first is the one he'll execute first. If he starts swinging donut first and then ball, he'll do donut and then point blank.

You should take small breaths when explaning, leaving one or two seconds among each sentence. although the guide is great, was also annoying to watch :)
