  • Moving To Alaska, Episode 4
We are back and this time with our brand new Ruger 44 Magnum revolvers!
My Ruger Redhawk was manufactured in 1988 and is possibly my new favorite gun that I own! I bought it at one of the Denver Gun Shows we went to a few weeks ago and absolutely love it.
In this episode of preparing to move to Alaska, Levi buys his Ruger Super Redhawk at Specialty Sports in Colorado Springs, CO after a long search for his defense revolver. He originally wanted a Redhawk like mine but after spending a ton of time at gun shows and driving way too much, he decided the newer Super Redhawk would do!
A week or so ago, we spent a bunch of time learning to reload ammunition with my (Becca's) Dad and in this video will be testing the different powder loads that we tried out for these new guns. Overall, we have a lot of tuning to do on them but do like some of the ranges we tried.
The main point of shooting them was just to get our feet wet, we have a lot of work to do on reloading, accuracy, etc. But we got a feel for them and that was the main goal for today.
As we stated several times in the video, we are not horribly terrified of moose and grizzly (or "Brown") bears but they do exist in Alaska and we do not want to meet one without some form of protection. Plus, it is never a bad time to add a few awesome guns to the family.
Also stated in the video, we are not and never will offer any type of ammunition reloading advice! Reloading the wrong amount of powder, wrong bullets, or making any mistakes can result in a very dangerous round. Guns can blow up, rounds can be way too hot and malfunction, etc. Anything that we ever share about our reloading process is for entertainment only, not reference or advice to others. Please do your due diligence to learn the hows and whys of reloading before diving in. It is an amazing hobby and a great way to save some money while dialing in your guns but it can be dangerous!
As always, thank you so much for tagging along for this week's video. Coming up, we will share the final touches on the storage shed as it gets built and eventually, the final pack to move to Alaska!
At the time of this video posting, we have 42 days until we leave!!!

I know a guy who was charged by a bear in Alaska and it took 5 shots from a 30.06 to bring it down.
