THANK YOU! I was moments away from a scalp.... appreciate your information and presentation, easy to understand. Tom Byrne Oh yea, good drainage walkways...
Man I really appreciate it!💪🏽 I’m gonna try my best to bring my camera in the yard with me every time I do something.. I tend to forget it!🤣.. thanks bro!!!
Great content and great lawn bro. You earned a new sub. Moved to a new home with a new sodded lawn in Sept it’s only now I’m tending to it so didn’t get any fertilizer and pre emergent down. Just did a pass of Spectracide Weed Stop a week ago and doesn’t seem to be enough for all the weeds especially poa, which I’m trying to pull all out now. Good thing I came around your content, big help man. Would a pre emergent still be useful at this time? Can’t wait to mow and take care of this lawn.
What’s up bro & congrats on the new home! In my opinion.. pre emergent is still useful since ALL the summer weeds have not sprouted just yet, so you still can beat some of them. POA is a different beast.. it’s tough, but it does go away with the summer heat. IMAGE “Red Label” in the bottle does well with killing POA, but it’s slow. At this point.. pre emergent & a few more rounds of weed stop should get you headed in the right direction. Mow low, without scalping, & mow often.. be sure to bag your clippings! Thanks for the sub man.. I definitely have more content on the way!!!
Great info except for the scalping. I think it varies by area and soil conditions. My H.O.C. during the growing season is 6mm, I scalp each year to 3mm, right before sand leveling. Both my front and back are treated as a green, but I do my neighbor's yard and cut theirs at .50" during the season. Either way great video. 👍🏾
Ahhh man.. found this video just a little too late huh? Lol.. Bermuda is quite forgiving & it’s tough as heck!! Don’t worry, It’ll bounce back just fine…
Nice work on your backyard. I started out with red mulch but I changed it out after the first year because it doesn’t keep the color. I switched to the red rubber mulch from Sam’s. It keeps its color and doesn’t fade. I am going on 2 years with it now.
I respect it. I went against the grain and scalped that bish 2 weeks ago. She starting to respond so thursday I dropped 10-10-10, humichar and pre-emergent before this rain. The heat getting steady now so lets see what happens. U just earned a new sub from me. Im a check your other videos
Yea you were just a tad early, but the temps are about to turn around so you shouldn’t take too bad of a hit. Good call on putting your pre emergent down right now tho!! Thanks for the sub!!💪🏽😎
I put down fertilizer with no pre emergent a few years ago and 50% of my yard was crab grass all summer. The thing I learned is to never put down fertilizer until the crabgrass and weeds are under control, maybe after the first wave of dandelions comes through and you kill them, then fertilize
That’s a sound piece of advice to live by! Fertilizer feeds everything that’s growing.. including weeds. It is best to wait until your weeds are under control before fertilizing.. good luck with the growing season!!
Weeds will always find away even with pre-emergent lol :) Id rather hand pick a few weeds then have to blanket spray my yard. My backyard is also not as well taken care of, its also only 800 sq feet lol. Good vid sir!
Whats your views on Burning off Zoysia/Bermuda? Am trying it in Mid April. (I live in Indiana and have Zoysia... Well Moving my lawn slowly into a Zoysia lawn.) Also on backyard walk path "Dew IT"
I personally have never burned my Bermuda.. too scared lol. But I do kno ppl that have & it always turns out great! I may try a section in my backyard this year!!
I notice your grass is more greened up on the border than the center of your backyard. Mine is the same way, why do you think this is? Is it because the border holds more water? Seems like the Bermuda would green up in the center first as it sees more sun.
What’s up man! The “green up” you see in this video are actually weeds. My backyard is very slow compared to my front, because I simply don’t care for it as well. Now as far as yours greening up around the border.. getting/retaining more water does help, especially if that area gets more sun during the day…
Thanks man! I was only trying something.. so I didn’t wanna spend that much money, but you’re right. The bigger pavers would look better & be more stable!
Thanks man.. will do!! No it’s not too late.. pre emergent can still block the weeds that have not emerged yet. Get it down now & be sure to water it in! Thanks for watching!!✌🏽
Replace it all with Zeon and thank me later!!! Bermuda is done, never should have been used all these years. Yeah, if you want to cut it every 3 days with a spinner, then Bermuda ain't bad....Zeon game over
I somewhat agree.. Zoysia grass is nice. It’s thicker, more disease resistant, & shade tolerant than Bermuda.. but there’s a reason that Bermuda is still very plentiful in the south. It’s TOUGH & fairly easy to maintain. Mowing low & mowing often is the recipe to a great Bermuda lawn…

Just stumbled across your page #Subbed
Thanks for subbing.. welcome to the channel!!😎
My first year with Bermuda-made all three mistakes. I knew something was wrong and you called it!
Ahhh man.. found this video just a little too late huh? Lol.. Bermuda is quite forgiving & it’s tough as heck!! Don’t worry, It’ll bounce back just fine…
Good stuff I made the mistake early on of not watering in my pre emergent very important!
Yep.. I was anticipating rainfall & I got NOTHING!!😩
What song is that at the end of video?
Btw good channel. Subscribed!
Ice & Fire By King Canyon, I love that song lol.. thanks for the sub!!😎
Nice Video!
Thanks a lot!!😎
Looks great
Thanks!!
Great info!
Thanks a lot.. I appreciate u watching!!💪🏽
It's that time of year
Nice work on your backyard. I started out with red mulch but I changed it out after the first year because it doesn’t keep the color. I switched to the red rubber mulch from Sam’s. It keeps its color and doesn’t fade. I am going on 2 years with it now.
Thanks man!! Yea I’ve been thinking about switching to rubber.. especially since I don’t need it for water retention around the fire pit!
I think that walkway looks clean bro
Thanks a lot man.. I really was just trying something, but it came out pretty decent!
Can you put down a pre emergent down now?
Yes.. u can still put it down now
How much sunlight does bermuda grass need to be a healthy lawn?
Full sunlight.. at least 8 hours worth. & that’s because Bermuda is a warm season grass..
I respect it. I went against the grain and scalped that bish 2 weeks ago. She starting to respond so thursday I dropped 10-10-10, humichar and pre-emergent before this rain. The heat getting steady now so lets see what happens. U just earned a new sub from me. Im a check your other videos

@TroubleInTheYard u have a IG or twitter where u do grass stuff too?
Yessir.. TroubleInTheYard on IG

Right! They are so pesky!! Lol.. but being able to just pick them by hand is always better than spraying! Thanks for watching!!

Great start! However, 24×24 pavers would be much better for your walkway. Using only one color element works best for continuity.
Thanks man! I was only trying something.. so I didn’t wanna spend that much money, but you’re right. The bigger pavers would look better & be more stable!
Was about to throw down some milorganite,I’ll wait till it warms up a bit.
Yea it’s definitely too early for fertilizer right now.. (in my opinion), but the window is coming SOON!!👍🏽
My first year with a hog in the front yard so grass got to be on point
Oh yea!! Pretty lawn & a pretty Hog goes hand in hand! Ride safe brother!😎
Definitely keep us updated with any projects! Great video! If my yard is still dormant, is it too late for pre emergent?
Thanks man.. will do!! No it’s not too late.. pre emergent can still block the weeds that have not emerged yet. Get it down now & be sure to water it in! Thanks for watching!!✌🏽
@@troubleintheyard Ok sounds good. Thanks!
No problem!!
Your videos are fantastic, being new to Bermuda grass, these videos are a great help. I like the look of that pathway. Great job
@@donaldmoser726 thanks a lot man & welcome to Bermuda land!!😎
Where is your location??
Sound like somewhere in Georgia
What broadleaf weed killer you use?
Spectracide Weed Stop For Lawns.. the hose end sprayer with the orange top
Damn I've done everything he said not too
