  • In lawncare, as in life, timing is everything. But first, I show everyone around the lawn and show them how the "No Scalp Spring" is going. We've achieved surprising results skipping an important step! The Lawn Insider Bermuda Maintenance Calendar is based upon the south/central Texas climate. I've included average highs at the top of the calendar so you can modify it to your specific climate zone. There are also 3 different experience levels to choose from, beginner, intermediate, and high. Make sure you visit the link below and print out a copy! #lawninsider #texaslawn #healthylawn #bermudalawn #reelmow

    question: looking at your calendar, I see granular fertilizer recommendations, as well as liquid. I have a backpack sprayer because I hate trying to apply granular to my lawn (22k' of lawn). Can I not use liquid fertilizer in place of granular?

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  2 місяці тому

      You definitely can. Granular is usually just the easiest way to apply enough product.

    Hey would love some help as I’m located somewhat close to you in Bryan. I have been following you for the last year and you have great videos! Can you do another video on product you use like fertilizer. My yard is doing great no weeds or anything like that but it’s taking a long time to green up. What would you recommend. I am following your calendar and thinking about laying down some fertilizer soon but would like to know what you recommend that’s granular

    • @LawnInsider

    is there a way you could tell what products you use on the steps on the calendar. I see the list of products but not sure when you use them on the calendar. Example what primary fertilizer do you use etc... thanks

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Рік тому +1

      I will discuss several products more in depth as the season progresses! Haven’t applied much of anything just yet. Just one small dose of fert.

    Are you crisping the edges on your live edges every time you mow? I can't seem to figure out how to get that crisp of edges - and if I do, they last one rain storm and then it's back to super soft and rounded. Any tips there?

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Рік тому

      I do it once a week with my rotary scissors

    Was wondering if one spring you could show how you bring a yard that isn't that great with lots of weeds to the caliber of your yard, rather than just showing us how you maintain your already great yard.

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Рік тому

      I think that’s a very valid question! I would love to have a project lawn, but it would just have to somehow work with my schedule which is non-stop lol it would realistically have to be someone who was willing to mow on their own a lot! But one day I would love that!

  • @jmacc4473

    This might be a stupid question, but do you just dig down around the trees to have the lawn edged up nicely around them?

    • @simpleplan8914
      @simpleplan8914 Рік тому +1

      It helps to dig to set the edge. Then just buy an edging attachment or edger to maintain every mow.

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Рік тому

      I dug initially around the tree, then I use my landscaping blade to tidy it up every week.

    Hey bro.. I’ve watched like 20 of your videos but I can’t find any recommendation for which Bermuda seed to buy.. can you message me with york recommendation? Please 🙏🏼 thanks!

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Рік тому +1

      Are you seeding a completely new lawn? Or overseeding an existing lawn? Generally I advise against overseeding existing Bermuda lawns in favor of just pushing your existing turf and getting it to spread into weak spots on its own. If you’re doing a new yard, or even a really really really bare spot, I would use something like Arden 15. It’s the closest you can get to hybrid sod with a seed.

  • @roywelch9657

    Give your dog Grass Green supplement by Pet Honesty. I give this to my female Cattle Dog and it completely eliminates the burned spots.

  • @RioTheHitman

    Was your lawn from sod or was it seeded?

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Рік тому

      From the sod the builder laid down

    You need to bring your fence up closer to the front of your house, should never allow people to walk up to the windows on the side of your house without going through a locked picket fence.

      I have the same house in Texas, city code does not allow it. That’s the builder following code. Also Home Owners association will not allow it.

    fastincinating what you were able to do. But the amount of care for something i find literally useless breaks my brain, how could you ever spend so much money but especially time. you could have natural plants and spend zero time and dollars. its like seeing somebody drive to work in a hummer limo, cool looking but the implications give me night terrors and want to hate those people so much for being so wasteful. I hate it so much cause you dont just have a nice grass, you are trying spread of the word of wasting time, money and resources, and spray chemicals everywhere. just paint it green next time

    • @simpleplan8914

      Your comment is literally useless.
      The possibilities for a well manicured lawn are pretty expansive. Something as simple as being outside in your bare feet which is essential to everyone’s health.
