If you like a band, you like them for their music... Whether they are mainstream or not. Thats so stupid that people stop liking bands, simply because they become more popular.
I think I just fell in love with him, after only 2 min of hearing him speak. Today's "radio" bands, the lack of expressive and distinctive vocals, how once a band is no longer "underground" they basically become pariahs... I couldn't have said any of it better myself. And the fact it's coming from someone my age makes it 100x better.
One thing I do hate is now that there is death and black metal and stuff, people act like if you have the SLIGHTEST bit of catchiness or melody that you are somehow a sellout. Take A7X for example- kick ass groove metal that became hugely successful- I always hear people comparing them to TRUE METAL bands like Pantera, saying how A7X are posers blah blah blah, meanwhile Vinnie Paul jams 'Tera tunes on stage with them and Rex went to their show and told them ""You guys are waving the flag now"
Almost makes me proud to hear him say that he wanted to be in one of those bands headlining arenas everyday and such, and now, they're headlining arenas every day. Good work boys!
trivium didnt sell out, they just moved away from the metalcore sounds towards the 80's thrash sound, which is what they wanted to do from the beggining, but matt couldnt sing so he screamed instead.
You are very fortunate, I have met them twice but the venues were 19+ they signed In Waves for me (All 4 guys), I didn't get into the venue though but they were so fucking friendly, Corey gave me a screaming lesson, who the hell does that on such a busy schedule? They are amazing to their fans

Thanks man, totally, and aside just from Maggots, metalheads in general of both genders and all ages should be cohesive and overall an army of free thinkers and free spirits. I listen to everything from Sabbath to Axewound, the OLDEST to NEWEST stuff in metal. Thrash and Glam, Rap metal, Groove Metal, Death Metal, Black Metal, Doom Metal, Classic Metal, its all metal and should all be celebrated. Especially Slipknot, they just blew everything away heavy-wise and to be so heavy yet listenable!

Matt writes like eighty percent of their music dude. His screaming is miles ahead of most people in metal as well as his clean vocals. You honestly sound like a little kid.
I have matt and corey's autographs I hung it on a picture frame and put it on my wall. I didn't meet them I had to convince someone who was going to meet them to get one for me.
