Wow it’s been a long time... from 22 to 24 and back to 22 frets, 4 knobs to 1 to back to 4... shows a real evolution of specs he is looking after his perfect guitar
It’s been a long time indeed. I remember a few years ago when I was working closely with Gibson on making a guitar for me and it really is a time consuming process. You have to really know what you want
I was at the last show they did in 09 in Jackson,MS. They had the DEAN headstock logo covered with gaffer tape. They played to maybe 150 of us on their way home to Florida, what nice fella's.
u got that right. i started playing when i was 11 too, but i put it down after about a year and picked it back up when i was 16 (im 18 now)..... he makes me wish i hadnt put it down, judging by how awesome he is.
Soooo gettn the matt heafy signature epiphone, i had the heafy ml and im getn it back of a friend, but its a pretty good guitar tho it feels really big to me
I saw Trivium live last month and Matt was using his signature Dean, cant remember what cory was playing though. They must have dropped them pretty recently then. I dont even play guitar but i wish i had one of those they look pretty damm cool =P
i think the best (in my opinion) guitar dean ever made was the black and white shenker with flame graphics and the ebony board,it is so awesome, and it's one of the best looking ebony boards i've ever seen and played. it would be perfect if it had 24 frets and seymour duncan 59's or a emg 81/60 set(i prefer the 60 over the 85) ;)
they are useing gibson and jackson matt heafy just joined gibson last year he had a gibson 7 string explorer customized for him and corey had jackson gutiars customized for him matt also went back to useing emg pickups in his guitars but he still uses dean here and there mostly his white 7 string dean
it sucks that matt doesnt have it anymore i saw one in nyc and its still there at the sam ash if i had the money i would buy it and put it up on my wall
From what I’ve gathered, he had some disagreements with Dean and his guitar kept having technical issues, which led to him smashing the guitar on stage and subsequently ending his partnership with them.
@@The_JustJoshing Sorta - they'd been having some disagreements, but the final straw was when he had a guitar leaning against Travis' drumkit at a show, and it fell forward and broke the headstock clean off of the guitar. That was, I think, right at the beginning of the touring cycle for Shogun. EDIT: Nope, I'm wrong - ua-cam.com/video/gTpnCRr0BYA/v-deo.html but the former did also happen: ua-cam.com/video/8tFQV8Rprlg/v-deo.html
Triviumworld, the Trivium official fansite. If you sign up the guys from the band actually take time out to talk via internet forum with their fans so it's cool to talk to them. Although RUMOR had it that Matt was having a signature 7 string Gibson Explorer made for him which would explain why he's using a gibson explorer as of recent shows.
i spose you could say that but its just the look for me if i wanted a guitar that sounded good id say id have to go for a gibson maybe they seem to be really well built
I think he got a signature with dean because he has loved the dean razorback for years. Did you not see what his 21st birthday cake was? A dean razorback, so thats why. Deans are awesome quality guitars for a fraction of the price of an esp for example, at a similar quality, obviously the under £1000 guitars from Dean are not hand crafted, but that doesnt mean they're not good guitars.
there is a video on youtube of matt breaking this guitar during 'pull harder' at the end of a show, it was his last show while on contract with dean. he broke the headstock of and last year i believe auctioned it off and gave the proceeds to japan after the tsunami. thats what i know happened to it OR a custom he had.
@megadv8r sure more people are using Deans since dimebag died but its not they're fault that dean makes really good guitars. The ML is just one of their more popular ones. You don't see people complaining that lots of guitarists are using SG's or Les pauls.
dean guitars are one of the best guitar brands in the world and the word of dime needs to be spread he is a legend and his music still rattles in the brains of kids even now
It looks best as an ML but I reckon it'd be cool if they made a Razorback version with like all the sun Rays not being so peaceful like make them look more menacing and stuff. Be Pretty cool but Yer, looks best as an ML
Because he has USED DBZ guitars. Jackson recently put up updated pics of Corey and the Throes of Perdition video. And since Corey has and always has used Jacksons the most. It would makes sense for jackson to endorse him. But in reality he hasn't signed with anyone yet. Matt has said he's in the works with a company already but won't say anything else until everything is flattened out.
i bought this guitar at a pawn shop for 200$ and im very satisfied, its got a great sound, heavy as hell, but i have big hands so when i play it i tend to hit the front pick up, it was a good buy for me, and they just discontinued it... and besides its still a dean...
@funkymonkey6996 maybe the lower end ones but the higher price range ones are the best you can get. if you don't like jackson i respect your opinion either way.

I can't wait to do some divebombs into pearl harbor! 😎
My Ex Demise hahahaha
Hol up
Lmao!😂
Love that paintjob. Can't wait to find one of those in the shop.
I was at the last show they did in 09 in Jackson,MS. They had the DEAN headstock logo covered with gaffer tape. They played to maybe 150 of us on their way home to Florida, what nice fella's.
The song that is playing on the intro and outro is Trivium's Becoming The Dragon for anyone who may wonder about it.
You know you've made it when Gibson makes you their first seven-string, and then makes you another.
That paint job is badass.
I can't wait for Matt's new gibson/epiphone sig! :)
reminds me of "Thunder in the east"
u got that right. i started playing when i was 11 too, but i put it down after about a year and picked it back up when i was 16 (im 18 now)..... he makes me wish i hadnt put it down, judging by how awesome he is.
I miss these
epiphone are now apparently superior to dean
In quality? Or just in general?
+John Coyne Matt just likes the Gibson and Epiphone feel and sound better. he still has his deans.
How do you know? I heard he sold them all to fans. Shame really, I wish he'd play this guitar again. They were great!
I thought it was that his and Cory's contracts with Dean expired.
nah they didnt like the way Dean handeled the signature sells
i agree i personally like the solid white he did for his 7 string.
i definatly agree with your number one just got my new DK2T :P
i must admit i love my epiphone zak wylde with its emg's excellent guitar no quarrals
That's a beautiful axe. :D
Yes, I was just stating that it shows your a step up when you dont have to use dots or anything on your fretboard
iam gonna miss that guitar
I do as well. I saw some on Ebay...
I wish they sold this guitar without the floyd because I like to change my tunings a lot. :(
Is there a left hand?
Saw them on tour recently. Matt is 100% Les Paul's and EMG's again. Corey still had his V's.
i love this guitar
0:22 and now they are back to their old Gibsons and Jacksons. in their new video Throes of Perdition, Matt is using his old LP and Corey his Jackson.
the input jack is fresh tho... i love that bc i loop my cable thru the strap so thats legit
Soooo gettn the matt heafy signature epiphone, i had the heafy ml and im getn it back of a friend, but its a pretty good guitar tho it feels really big to me
i loved the star shaped one and coreys pototype. where did you get all the info from?
Becoming the Dragon is my favorite Trivium song
I saw Trivium live last month and Matt was using his signature Dean, cant remember what cory was playing though. They must have dropped them pretty recently then.
I dont even play guitar but i wish i had one of those they look pretty damm cool =P
just bought this guitar ;D

Really cool ML, not gunna lie :)
Yes he is. He's currently using an explorer. He's having a 7 string signature gibson explorer made. YES!!!
they are useing gibson and jackson matt heafy just joined gibson last year he had a gibson 7 string explorer customized for him and corey had jackson gutiars customized for him matt also went back to useing emg pickups in his guitars but he still uses dean here and there mostly his white 7 string dean
Well said!
Yeah I noticed that in their new video... so it's official now? Is Corey back to Jacksons as well?
it sucks that matt doesnt have it anymore i saw one in nyc and its still there at the sam ash if i had the money i would buy it and put it up on my wall
Am I the only one who thinks he ONLY did a signature with Dean so that Epiphone/Gibson would be more inclined to give him a signature?
Soulless Ginger lol like zakk wylde
yes
Pretty sure he did it for the money.
From what I’ve gathered, he had some disagreements with Dean and his guitar kept having technical issues, which led to him smashing the guitar on stage and subsequently ending his partnership with them.

if i could have a ML 79F Trans Braziliaburst with this spec and some duncans in it i would be happy ass hell!
I agree 100%
Jacksons are AMAZING and Corey KNOWS it.
I love MLs, but i hope this one would have tone knob too
my friend got one last week..i have to say its amazing and mi so jealous haha :)
@dannyzep92 Corey does... well his signature is Jackson so yeah i hoped that helpd
any videos or links?
That is an awesome price! Damn you're lucky!
The interview were looks like a GTA Vice City character
In all honesty I would think this looks best as an ML.Visualizing this as a razorback makes me think it wouldn't look as purdy.
More likely to get Matt`s epiphone signature 7string when it`s out :P
i spose you could say that but its just the look for me if i wanted a guitar that sounded good id say id have to go for a gibson maybe they seem to be really well built
mann if i ever get a signature guitar IF lol i would totally put emg actives on it period
Oooooooh! Think i'll be putting this alongside the razorback =D
I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
But it still looks wacky.
YES!!!! I also like heavy guitars :D and big one :P
Where can i this as a lefthanded model??? Pls i really need this

Dean Guitars are the best guitars ever made!
I´m sorry about the lollypop! I saw it live on a Trivium concert on monday and now I see, I couldn´t be more wrong!
I’d take one of these over his signature Epiphone ANY DAY
i have one, they are very very rare and hard to find now
i didt really hear if he mentioned what pickup hes using, any ideas?
what is that shaking matt got in is hands. when he is showing the neck thingy
great metal band
Corey has been photographed with DBZ Guitars.
I WANT IT
@megadv8r sure more people are using Deans since dimebag died but its not they're fault that dean makes really good guitars. The ML is just one of their more popular ones. You don't see people complaining that lots of guitarists are using SG's or Les pauls.
dean guitars are one of the best guitar brands in the world and the word of dime needs to be spread he is a legend and his music still rattles in the brains of kids even now
If they still existed
haha he's just like me, he just cant keep his fingers still when having a guitar in his hands, even when someone is talking next to him xD
Can i get this as a lefthanded?
he did he has it in 6 and 7
I am sure there is dots on the binding
there on the jackson website
anyone know how to get one of them because i have a razorback and i hate it because of the bottom of the neck and the mkh have the shaved down one
i like heavy guitars too matt
It looks best as an ML but I reckon it'd be cool if they made a Razorback version with like all the sun Rays not being so peaceful like make them look more menacing and stuff.
Be Pretty cool but Yer, looks best as an ML
Where could a person find one of these, or are there not any like this for sale?
i luv how he keeps playing the guitar during the interview. lol
Because he has USED DBZ guitars.

Iunno, But wouldn't it be awesome to see a razorback version of this! xD
u should wait until the newer versions come out with the crazy razorback like paintjobs.
Who are they endorsed with now?
@Killer9299 i have seen dbz's before they do look solid
'guitar builder dudes' they sound like cool guys
i bought this guitar at a pawn shop for 200$ and im very satisfied, its got a great sound, heavy as hell, but i have big hands so when i play it i tend to hit the front pick up, it was a good buy for me, and they just discontinued it... and besides its still a dean...
Anyone know if there's gonna be a 7 string version of this axe?
it seems that every time there's a trivium video from Dean, the fellow with bandanna has to pop up in it somewhere.
That explains it
@funkymonkey6996 maybe the lower end ones but the higher price range ones are the best you can get. if you don't like jackson i respect your opinion either way.
i own it its amazing!!!!!!!!!
@mylifeizrock they work with jackson now right?
matts guitar is a sweet snd well hes awsome too
Any idea what he means by the weights? I've got a few ideas but I wanna bounce it off some other peoples
Did the interviewer go to the mall to get his look, "hey, I need some highlights and Hot Topic shirt"
pro guitar shop has one (they only have 6 deans left)
SICKKK AXE
heavy guitars helps when trying to excercising your arm muscles while excercising your hand muscles ;)
probably pre orders cause most of the stuff showcased at NAMM isn't fully available yet...unless you wanna drive to their factory
rising sun .. nice.
3.04 what does that say on his floyd?
@Scotty2HottyPwns indeed!
