It's great to see different ways of doing this. I usually bring the last row down to the same level as the garage and then start to level the driveway

This was the first thing I did with that cheat, but in the Sims 2... it used to take me so long, and now I find it so easy xD

Great vid, James! That really helped - I had no idea it would be so easy! :) Question (this is not about the sloped driveway): I notice lots of great builders do a "sunken terrain" for a basement in their houses, instead of using the basement tool. Why do good builders do that? Is it for looks, or does the game play better, or is visibility better? Lots of builders don't like the basement tool. Do you know why?

every time i try to put the foundation in it lowers the wall. how did you add it in without the wall being lowered to the height of the foundation? :/

The cheat code was all I needed, and I didn't notice until I did the entire process twice lol
Something I think you should do in a house building video is put multiple houses in there like one for the parents kids and maybe grandparents just something like that

Sooo… I’m 7 years late but I have question 🙋♀️ can you add stairs from the basement garage to the normal house? Would love to have a door from the garage to utility rooms like laundry ect and then be able to go upstairs to base level. Thank you 🙏

You mentioned something about going deeper then basically trailed off to finish the first part of the tutorial. What was it you were going to mention by going down even further? Is it simply to have the foundation be lower.. like an alt foundation?

TheSimSupply I used one that I saw in an other youtube video. You literally lower every square on it's own until you reach the garage door. It included a lot of clicking as you can imagine. oh man. xD Looking back I really could've made my life a lot easier ^^

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you put green carpet on the foundation along the driveway to make it look like grass/soil and then top it with plants?
It's from into the future u could put plants on it without moveobjects on

How did you create that raised garden bed? I'm currently working on a house in TS3 with (hopefully) a little raised garden by the garage. Someone please respond, I'm so confused!
Can you please do a really simple tutorial on how to make a house that doesn't look awful? I always struggle with basic building :/
Be creative, colour schemes, colour schemes, COLOUR SCHEMES! And try downloading some custom content walls, floors, and objects, then just put something together without any planning ahead, I mean that's what James does, and look at his houses, they're absolutely stunning! (Ps, I suggest modthesims, the sims resource, and of course, James's website, for sims content)
I tried creating my own sloped driveway in my game and for the most part it worked but when I tried to get rid of the ugly angle it created it altered the actual slope any suggestions on how to make it not do that would be much appreciated :)

i feel kinda stupid asking this but.....how would you do a attached grage. to foundion with the sloped driveway? (im dislexic so i cant always spell thing right sorry)
Is this possible on ps3? And If you made the garage to wide you can mane put a normal door next to the garage door, I think that would look nice.

i had water randomly show up in my basement. what did I do wrong? I put a pond in the yard but it shouldn't have affected the house. honestly looks like a foundation of water.
+Amber Groeger i think you might have had your basement placed too close to your pond, or you might have made your pond also too deep or both things, be careful how deep you dig your pond especially, goodluck
How do you get rid of the harsh edges without altering the driveway slope?
Once you turn off constrainfloorelevation they should stay put. Even if you messed it up, you can just undo.
I’m having a problem with the TS3 I just placed a 64x64 lot down when placed my house on it the the terrain was too low and didn’t level up to the side walk, and my sims won’t go home cause they can’t get in a house with a uneven lot. Anyone know how to fix this?

Just do the same thing but use the raise terrain tool instead of the lower terrain tool
At 4:19 you talk about the rocks. Does anyone know how you put items at eich other? (sorry for my bad englisch) í hope you understand what i mean.
Type cheats 'testingcheatsenabled true' and then 'moveobjects on' and then hold Alt while you move intems. That way they can overlap freely and you can place them wherever you want

My foundation keeps lowering my walls to the same hight as the foundation when I try to place them does anybody know why?
I had the same problem because I was starting from the walls. Start from the top edge of the ground, then drag it to the walls, if that makes any since.....

It worked pretty much the same way, then you'd just moveobjects to place the driveway pieces and the cars. The animation of the car reversing out didn't play of course, but you could still place your cars in a sunken garage :)

I don't know what it is with my game but i can never use ConstrainFloorElevation False. I've went to multiple forums and nothing i do fixes it
Try typing it in twice, not in the cheat box but type it once, then open the cheat box again and type it in, hope that helps!

Actually the problem might be... most tutorials fail to mention this part. Nothing will work in the cheat menu unless you put in "testingcheatsenabled true" first.
marzymeowz No, that is not true at all. You do NOT need to enter "testingcheatsenabled true" to be able to use "constrainfloorelevation false". The times you will need to use TCE is if you want to use the "buydebug" cheat or a vast array of other ones. You do not need it for CFE.
