Tear jerker😭 My Nigerian dad is the reason I started playing The Sims, God rest his soul. I was wining too many Command & Conquer battles and he thought that was unusual for a girl so he tamed my lust for blood and expansion with The Sims. Can't say I'm a better person for it but I had so much more fun thanks to him.
This made me emotional, today marks a year since my dad passed. He loved autumn and the spooky season. And I remember him taking me to buy my first sims game as a kid.
Trust he’s saying hi to you and is still around you then ❤ especially because of the story line that was written.

long time sims fan & this one hit hard. I lost my dad to leukemia a few years ago, and the loss never gets easier. ironically enough this trailer dropped on october 3rd (same day he was dignosed in 2019) and launches on halloween (the day he passed in 2020) --- so this entire launch feels very cathartic

Sobbing at my desk, hands down the best Sims Promotional video. Having just farewelled my Grandfather and lost multiple loved ones over the years, this got me grieving and laughing - I really needed it. The Sims will always have a special place in my heart, just hearing the Sims 1 music makes me nostalgic and teary eyed. I have been playing since I was 8 years old and at 32 years old now, my love for The Sims is still strong.
This got me crying. Lost my dad 2 years ago and the battle for the will is real when people have no morals.
I cried, too. Like, really, the death of sims isn't "sad" as much as it is frustrating when it's accidental (thank God for mods).. but this legit adds so much more realism and definitely seems to have the potential to add some real feels to the life/death meaning of sim existence.. I am sorry for your loss, and I wish healing for you.
Don’t do a will. Do a trust. It keeps your estate out of the courts.

Honestly this is one of the best trailers so far. I've watched this a few times even after purchasing the pack.
Honestly, I’ve never had any of my sims die of old age before. I always cheat to extend their life or play a new save. Because it’s just too anticlimactic!! But this seems like it makes saying goodbye more emotional yet slightly satisfying and I really like that!
I agree, I don’t think the way elders die in sims currently is really realistic, usually old people just slip away in there sleep
Absolutely! My worlds are crowded with Elders. At least now I can let some of them go and know that their relatives won't forget them and that they can actually see them again (if necessary). I wasn't sure until right this moment, but I actually like this and will most likely be downloading it.
Same, all of my sims are immortal and most of them never age so basically I have Young/Adult sims who have grandchildren and great grandchildren
Yeah, I think I'm actually going to let my sims die now. I think I may actually enjoy having them go set up a will and pick out their casket, etc. And then being able to play them on pass death and turn them into a creepy, malevolent ghost if I want or finish their unfinished business they had on Earth before they can finally move on. This is going to be excellent.

@@Akira_of_the_Fae It reminded me Windenburg but a lot sunnier! I also noticed one of the first buildings had damaged roof tiles, and I hope that's a feature that can be used on all tiles! I really like the look of old, decrepit buildings and I hope Maxis adds more Build/Buy that replicates that look

That head statue carved in the cliff is actually real, in my country, in Romania between the Danube and carpathian mountains and that person is named Decebal. I am so happy for this!!!
I LITERALLY THOUGHT OF THIS. I was like,,, is this world romanian-inspired? Some of the shots of the architecture reminded me of the northern parts of the country, all it's missing is the metal roofs. This pack's world being basically Romania makes me happy in such irrational ways

omg not only is this trailer making me emotional but so are the comments. i lost my mom 3 years ago and this made me think about her especially when she was at her father's grave and he came to visit her. For anyone who suffered a lost of a love one please remember that you are never alone and, if you believe in this kind of stuff, they're always watching over you because they love you too.

This trailer was amazing. I legit wanted to cry when she bent down at her Dad's grave and she got to see him leave to go up and leave the planes of Earth since he saw his daughter again. They did so well with creating a story for us. This is how I play sims.. I love the legacy system. It was so annoying not having a cemetery for all the dead sims.. I loved it so much in Sims 3.

This is gonna be real awkward when my vampire sim hits their 100th funeral attendance and has to explain to people that they just age really well.
I lost both of my grandparents this year two months after each other. I lost it when I was at their funerals. When they were arguing in the trailer about the will, while the sim looked at the pictures, I started uncontrollably crying. I will always cherish the memories my grandparents gave me and I will be forever grateful to them. This is my second favorite trailer after Sims 3 Generation.

I lost both my Grandparents in a car crash years ago. They were two of the nicest people you would ever meet. The funeral was a nightmare. The rest of the family, including my parents, descended upon them like vultures. Lots of fighting at the funeral. I just stayed quiet, and minded my own business. All I got was a faded picture of them I tossed away because it was in such poor condition. I didn't even get to grieve for them until well after. I didn't talk to anyone in my family for years. I'm just glad I am more like my Grandparents than the rest of them. Memories are worth more than stuff.

@@skywalker6648 What? This pack isn't "insensitive" though? It's literally just a pack about funerals. Funerals are natural and is actually a way to respect the dead. Rather than just have our sims plop down onto the ground meaninglessly, I'm honestly glad that we are finally going to have a way to honor our dead sims.
Also, if ur talking about the covid 19 pandemic, that was like, 3/4, almost 5 years ago. They didn't just make this pack immediately after it. We r in year 2024, not 2020. Also, they probably just wanted to do more for their well known, in game, Grimreaper, who they are focusing for this pack (and also for the fact that it's halloween season).

"A Sim’s Soul’s Journey allows them to achieve rewards as they fulfill goals, with the ultimate reward being the ability to Rebirth a Sim with the special Burning Soul trait after their passing. Sims who are Reborn after completing their Soul’s Journey can unlock past Childhood Development Skills, Traits and Infant Milestones (depending on the age they come back as). Sims team. That was way too personal! My dad passed away on Christmas day 2 years ago now. I had tears in my eyes when she was remembering all the times with him and when he came back as a ghost to say bye. I have literal chills all over. Great job, team!

My granny left Thanksgiving 2018.
My daughter saw my dad after he passed. She was very young but holds that memory dear. The ghost visiting her at the grave brought tears to my eyes.
My parents have both been dead for nearly ten years now, still seeing this made me emotional too. 😢 I’m glad we can finally have a proper mourning period for them.

I totally cried at this. At a sims 4 trailer. Whoever put this together deserves a raise.
I lost my grandma a couple months ago and I haven’t been coping well. She lived with us most of my life and helped take care of us while both of our parents were working so I kinda saw her as my third parent. This trailer definitely made me emotional and made me want to hug her again, and this might sound silly but I think this might help me get closure with her death so that I could see her again and let go myself instead of through my parents while she was in the hospital.

@@MesmerizerMikuuuu The resurrection thing you talk about, ambrosia already exists and The Reaper wants to know if it will mess with its job or not. And also we have the wishing well so we can bring ghosts back to life. I wonder if it is not about a new NPC that will represent life x_x or maybe we get zombies if resurrection does not work !
For the "life" portion they would ideally add an age group so that kids don't turn into adults immediately upon aging up. I get that it is a teen but the shift is staggering. It is really creepy IMO.

They have SO many good occult mods, including werewolves(before werewolves game pack existed, and when it came out they updated it to be compatible), witches vs fairies(adds a more witch type witch and fairies, that one got a pretty decent update recently too), expanded mermaids(mermaids now have perks and skills and new stuff, sims can also become sea witches and kelpies) and their most recent mod, EXPANDED PLANTSIMSSSS!

I DON'T think this pack will have zombies, guys. The new survey they put out for possible future expansions has an "Overgrown Post Apocalyptic World" as an option. They wouldn't attach and lock zombies behind a grim reaper pack when they already have ideas for a world perfect for zombies. This EP will probably be centered around ghosts, cemeteries, funerals, a reaper career, and Grim.
Sims 3 style cemetaries would be great. you know the ones where all the dead go and you can get the headstones out of the mausoleum to place and maybe even resurrect. If you have the magic add on you can already resurrect but only if you are in posession of the head stone or urn, and they are usually lost in space so to speak....

Dear EA, we fans need a MUSIC expansion pack - a fully fleshed-out career for singers, bands, instrumentalists (drums, harp, flute etc.), concerts, music competitions, because we want to create our own musical idols! Could we please get the ability to create different stages for musicians, concert tours? This was in The Sims 3... I won't even mention cars... If you also want a music expansion pack, please write about it in the EA survey and in the comments below.

I was thinking something very similar. It would be nice to have professional musicians during weddings, and gatherings other than just the piano. Their pushing the same woke cr*p like with the latest expansion pack, is getting tiresome! All it does is break the current game and pushes ideals that people don't agree with. Hunting down the sims to change them into what is acceptable to the player gets old.
Obsessed with the more darker stories encouraged with this pack and the idea of darker themes in the sims in general tbh, I understand the global market and the positive vibes with the audience but I’m obsessed with this considering we have some darker packs already. I think it’s important too for games like this to go deeper, life isn’t always a cake walk but it’s a hell of a ride along the way!

I honestly can’t believe the enthusiasm for EA putting out EPs that basically add interactions and animations to TS4 that were in the S3 base game. Yall are pretty much paying for the most simplistic stuff that should have been included when this game LAUNCHED. People getting excited about toddlers, infants, pools, ghost children, high school and university (that are basically ghost towns), basic WEATHER… all in low poly low res glory, it’s actually insane.

I agree for everything except the perpetual twilight since we have that in vampire and werewolves, even if they are game packs and not game expansions and 12 lots would be like Newcrest, I don't really believe that it will happen but let's hope so !!!!
@@legina Moonwood mill is only 5 lots and is not perpetual twilight. The vampire world is the only world with perpetual twilight, and if I remember correctly, there are only 4 lots. I want a larger world in perpetual twilight with foggy sinister vibes. At least 12 lots for an expansion world is actually pretty standard (cottage living, lovestruck, growing together, horse ranch, highschool years, etc.).
