I love my Outlaw kayak. Just took it half way up Honeymoon Island near Clearwater with an electric trolling motor. Nowhere near the speed you're getting with this gas engine, but it was amazing to have a silent engine helping to move me along as I paddled a bit. Total game changer!
Awesome. I love that area around Honeymoon Island. Definitely a game changer when you have some type of propulsion system to help you with the Outlaw. Makes your time on the water more pleasant and enjoyable for sure. Obviously this Yamaha is not as quieter as the Minn Kotta! But been a four stroke is definitely not super loud like I was thinking it was going to be. Usually I speed up to my area I will be fishing and then from there I drift or paddle to my spots that way I don’t spook the fish around me. What trolling motor are you running and how did you installed?
@@spanglishangler I actually don't know the make or model. It's fairly simple with a hand-click dial and about 6 speeds. The top speed will make a small wake behind the boat. I ran it off a fully charged deep cycle marine battery and had good power on and off for my approx 5 hour cruise / float / adventure. I used wood and made a custom bracket to clip the engine clamps onto. Just made it beefy enough, painted it black and screw the thing on! Rock solid. I have a youtube channel for my business but I'll probably make my own review video of this boat at some point. Thanks bro!
Thanks for the comment Bill and glad you like it. I am looking forward to get some good weather soon and hit the water that way I can prepare more content for you guys. 👍🏼
Thanks brother for the comment. I ever ride on other kayaks and then ride the Outlaw! Then they can see that is super stable. The only people saying is not super stable, haven’t been on other kayaks I bet.
Hello Dan. Sorry for the delay responding. Is been could of crazy weeks. I love the motor so far but to early to really get a honest assessment. After doing some research! I ended up with the Yamaha. I’m not saying anything bad about the other ones. Just the reviews of the Yamaha were great and not many complains.
LOL, I had family in town since February 11 and super busy. But finally I will have some time this Saturday to hit the water. Is going to be fun for sure. I will try to survive and make a video lol. I installed an awesome steering system and throttle control installed. Stay tune
Ray, 30lb is good and plenty for this kayak. That's what I have on mine. But I know you already told me you are installing a bigger motor and I am working on your order for the aluminum plates now. It should be interesting.

Did you launch from the causeway? Great fishing there
The outlaw was made for going fast. The hull design is perfect for this application.
Indeed. Super stable and perfect with a 2.5hp. You can beat the range and speed you will get with that setup.
Nice video, thanks for sharing 👍🏻

Way more stable than I thought. Nice job!

Thats pretty sick!!
Thanks Corey. Definitely needing some improvement, but I am up to the challenge.
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome my friend. I have fun making the videos and trying to help fellow kayakers out there.
Buen trabajo con los videos 👍🏼

@@dadinthecityoutdoors el kayak ya casi lo tengo listo como quiero. El canal es el que quisiera atraer más suscriptores.

Hey! How do you like the motor? Is it reliable? Is it loud? I can’t decide between Honda 2.3, Yamaha 2.5, tohatsu2.5 or tohatsu 3.5

I in the market for a trolling motor moving for my Preception 11.5
Can you help me out?
Everyone I've talked to says 30lb thrust is all you need

Foot steering
Check my new video. I have an extended arm with throttle cable and kill switch extended to me. I love it. Thanks for watching.
