    My Dad's dog Mis has been withing and scratching herself relentlessly for the past 3 days. I used your suggestion apple cider vinegar and water 50/50. I sprayed her problem areas down and rubbed it in really good, then reapplied a few hours later. It worked she finally was able to relax

    Rachel, I just want to tell you you're amazing!!!! ive been using your dog training tips, my dog knows how to touch, sit, down, place, leave it, and is crate trained... he never bites his crate!! I put peanut butter on a toy and he licks it and I do fun things in the crate with him!!! this is the key to dog training! today I went to the vet for the 2nd time with my doggo and even in public she listened to all of my commands and was such a good girl!!! I was told she is an Australian cattle dog but her DNA results came back as 37% husky and the rest is a mix of Amstaff, boxer, German Shepard... foundational training is going to be critical for my dog because she will be growing BIG!!! now I need to work on biting and chewing on things.. but thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!

    When I was younger, we had a dog who had this horrible skin condition- it was dry and maybe even a fungus infection- and not ever 4th or 5th opinions from vets were able to figure out what was wrong or how to fix it. Then my parents ended up trying a homecooked diet (not raw) and not only did her skin pull a 180 but so did her personality! She tended to be a pretty grumpy lady but after the diet switch, she was happy and active like a puppy, even with the old age blindness and deafness! It's definitely something I would like to look into when we get our puppy! (6 weeks and counting!!!)

      Could be the food. Gradually try different brands. Sometimes the water. Amazing that FILTERED WATER can sometimes fix the dog and the owners skin conditions. Much chlorine and fluoride and other trace chemicals in water these days. A simple faucet filter will even help.

    • @jackfrosty4674
      @jackfrosty4674 2 роки тому +1

      crate them. Take them out as soon as get up. Give small meal and water. Let them run around outside while getting ready for school. Put them back in crate and turn off light. They will think it is the den. They need to pee and poo before go back in crate to leave most of day. Police dogs are worth 40,000 dollars. They leave them in crate and kennel large parts of the day. And so are most expensive dogs. The dog feels safe and when get home first thing run the dog outside with a meet and greet with you. It is more about training the owner to get up and let the dog in and out then the dog.
      Owners doing what they need to will make dog ownership much better.

    2. Coconut oil - source of Lauric acid
    3. Raw goat milk and bone broth - probiotics, digestive enzymes, nutrients
    4. Remove common household toxins- cosmetics, household chemicals ( scents and toxins)
    5. Overall pet grooming - use products that are truly hypoallergenic

I would love to feed my pup fresh raw food, but at this time I’m not very comfortable feeding the pup fresh raw since I have a small child at home. I’m thinking of maybe doing freeze dried raw food. I would love to know your thoughts on it and if you have any brand recommendations. TIA 🤗

    I had to stop with the raw food diet and switch to a hypoallergenic dry food but my pup is still scratching and biting at herself. I have washed everything she touches without adding any conditioner so I guess I'll have to start brushing her more (she's also a short haired breed) and wiping her down after walks in the countryside. She's only 10 months old and has been scratching for 6 of those but once I have found the problem I hope to get her back onto a raw food diet but for now, we are both fed up with the whole thing. 😞

      And I think Rachel is going to make one/has made one.
      For nail trimming, be very careful and start slow. Trim a tiny bit off at a time. You can also use a nail grinder to be extra safe.

      Yes, but make sure to lightly cook or steam them to get rid of bacteria but keep the nutrients. If they're canned make sure they're canned in water. I think they have thiamine which is toxic to dogs.

    We've had a Lab Chew wawa rescue Stella for 4 days 11 weeks. she had some shots has been licking privates and itching quite a bit. Gave bath yesterday no fleas. I cook with liquid coconut should I add some to her brkfast & dinner. If so how much? BTW your videos are super easy to understand and make sense. I also have a 12.5 Kerry beagle.

      try rubbing coconut oil on dog and letting lick off. Also apple cider vinegar in water. Just a little as it is vinegar. Helps break up the fat. Try putting oil in sink and adding vinegar. That is how it will help the dog. Helps get the oil and break the oil up als0. Worth a shot.

    In addition to ruling out any allergens, increasing the omega-3 in their diet is known to help mitigate some issues with skin and dull coats. Introduce some fatty fish like whole mackerel or fresh sardines, or at the very least a fish oil supplement, and those issues should improve in a week or two.

    • @shelbyhopper7953
      @shelbyhopper7953 2 роки тому

      I went to get my pupper a fish oil supplement, but they had different milligrams so I wasn't sure which to get him. Does it matter the milligram? Can you overdose a dog on the omega and fish oil? If so, will it just make them extremely oily?

    • @RovingPunster
      @RovingPunster 2 роки тому

      @@shelbyhopper7953 Very good question. I dont have a specific answer, aside from the usual advice to avoid any supplements listing over 100% USDA RDA, esp if it involves vitamins that are fat soluable rather than water soluable. Its always a great idea to do some self directed reading on such things ... most of my knowhow on nutrition came from helping my Ex thru a career change to a certified nutritionist/dietician (for humans, not animals). There was/is some modest carry over to pet nutrition, but i'm hesitant to simply guess.
      BTW, back to the fish oil capsule - if they snub it, its easy to pierce them and squeeze the contents onto their food. As for amount - i dont like guessing, but if I had to I think it would depend on the dog's weight. Figuring an average human as 150 lbs (gender non specific), reduce the amount to the dog's weight percentage. Thus, a 75 lb dog would need either half as much, or the same amount but only half as often ... and then, just to be extra safe, halve it again, and then titrate up/down from there based on your reading and observation. Always err on the conservative side, because too little is nearly always better than too much.
      Cheers.

      Get a can of real animal fat called Lard. Add a tablespoon or teaspoon to food three times a week. Need real animal fat not vegetable oil as now they have found not good for you, especially at high heat. Turns into a different molecule with the veg. oils.

    WOW! This was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! U are a life saver and I'm so so grateful for this video and for u. I hadn't heard of u or seen ur videos prior to finding this one but after watching just this one video I am subscribing and will be a faithful viewer from this day forward because u rock! I cannot tell u how much stress and upset I've been going through for the past few weeks maybe even months due to my boys (I have 5 male dogs) scratching and licking!! I can't handle it! I desperately did a search on UA-cam and found this and I'm already feeling so much better even without starting simply because you've given me the comfort and confidence of knowing I'm not alone and I'm not crazy! I was beginning to feel so guilty and quite frankly so stupid for not knowing what was wrong or how to fix it and I really thought I had done or was doing something way wrong to hurt my babies añd to cause this. I have even switched their food to a very expensive skin allergy specific dog food that we're on the 4th or 5rh bag of without results. It's pretty discouraging to spend $70 on a bag of dogfood meant to stop their itching and not have any improvement. I also bought flea collars and ear mite/tick medicine that didn’t help either. Well, I just had to let u know how grateful I am to u for addressing this issue and making me feel more understood. I'm going to start trying out all of ur suggestions and hopefully gain some much needed relief for my sweet sweet boys. Thank u so very much!!❤👍🙂😜😉❤

    Not the subject of this video I know. But. I want to feed my pup good, and I am a lil torn. I have no local pet stores in my area, so it is all just Petco or bust. I was looking at options from the bi-weekly fancy prepared meals, but those are cooked if I recall, so not the perfect match. I am wondering what your take on ZiwiPeak is? It is air dried and seems like a good quality, I am just not sure if that is a decent idea or if I would be better off with something more along the lines of Caliraw for instance.

I just came home from the vet a few minutes ago and they prescribed him antibiotics, steroids, etc. Going to the vet was my last resort because I didn't want him on steroids. Look around. What does your dog lay on? What chemicals in yard or on furniture do you spray. Do you walk him or her in neighborhood where others spray. Try washing paws in soapy water after done with walk. Also try feeding beef once per week just microwaved a minute or two. And add real animal fat. Lard to his diet. The coconut oil rubbed onto his skin will help.

    I wish you would've talked about what goat milk you use and how much and the same with the coconut oil and sardines. I know amount differs per dog and weight but it would help to see how you serve it and brands you use, just to switch it up instead of just watching you talk. How long do you need to do these things before you see a decrease in itching?

    • @jackfrosty4674

      Try rubbing coconut oil on dogs skin and coat. Should see immediate relief. Also most any goat milk will work. Can buy it fresh off goat farm or canned, or in milk section or evaporated dried. Sardines just the canned type in the store near the spam and tuna. Want it to be packed in oil. Then just open and add a few to the food.

The only food he eats best is Purina one true instincts with beef & salmon Purina one, which I read it does have animal organs in it and I been using it as a topper in his dry food.
