Crafting is awesome. Period.
I wont go back to content that I played for 150 hours just because I still need a different magazine perk on a weapon, but Im always frustrated by a roll in my vault that isnt exactly what I wanted.
99% of the players will be finished with content at some point no matter the outcome of loot they got and IMO its better to have people satisfied at this point.
I worked in a videogame store for a few years and many people who quit Destiny said its because of the grind and rng.
Sorry had to respond to the thumbnail of the video.. Removing classes from Destiny2 is awful. That is one of the biggest identities.
@@OKay-ox3kh yeah mostly but more specifically, they just want every game to be the exact same. Aka BRs or COD
Here is a hot take, I PVP is limiting to the potential of PVE. Every exotic has to be made and then put through a PVP filter. What I mean is the creativity and chaos they could introduce to PVE without having to worry if something is going to break PVP would be a sight to behold.
There are 2 different sandboxes
@@bradhall516 is right he means the exotic perks have to be very well thought out so they can be viable in PVP without completely breaking it at the same time for example, Nezerac Sins helmet on warlock could be a very good PVP exotic but they have to tone down the potency of the ability regen so people aren't spamming abilities, while over in PvE this exotic is amazing for just that, this creates a situation where an exotic is completely pointless in one mode while worth having for the other.
If a weapon or ability is so overtuned that it can't be implemented in pvp, that also makes it a massive powercreep for pve...
My boyfriend who introduced me to Destiny when we first started dating, he doesnt care what gun he's using, he just uses whatever newest gun he gets. Same with armor, he just equips the highest light armor that drops, he doesn't coordinate fashion. He doesnt even use armor mods, not even resilience mods until he started struggling in hard activities, and he finally started equipping resilience mods. But only res mods and nothing else.
He is a hunter main. He only wears Knucklehead Radar and never takes it off. We were doing Onslaught with a friend and the friend asked him to wear Orpheus Rigs, and he said "what is Orpheus Rigs?"
🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
I used to be like this. Recently i tried out a Void warlock build and now i am better than my friends Lol
When he puts on Knucklehead Radar, it doesn't stop pinging. (joke)
Bruh that's my wife, I have to do her builds for her... She's a hunter and never uses her dodge, while using sweet business. I tried to tell her that using her dodge will reload her Sweet Business, she doesn't care about that
And with Prismatic, she thinks she should only Transcend when there's Bound enemies
... Maybe I should get her to start playing Titan...

that post about 99% lfg being nice reminded me of henry cavill saying its easy to find dates. you just go to the girl you like and ask them out for dinner or something. some of us gets disoriented by just hearing if more than one person speak up in discord.
😅nice comparison, who would say no to Henry?!
@@annamuller9457 yeah :p i mean if u r good at the game ofcourse 99% lfgs would feel nice to you. doesnt mean its objectively true. true test of lfg's nicnesss is when someone bad shows up.
About the Destiny misinformation take:
I think the problem for destiny specifically is that there often is not much information you get from an official source, you need to learn things from seeing others do them (or hearing from others). e.g. pass the orb in The Corrupted strike, heal shaxx holograms in Onslaught. So I believe because of things like that there is also a lot of misinformation spread the same way
About crafted weapons and replayability:
The Coil is amazing. I have all season of the wish weapons and nearly all rolls of the updated dreaming city weapons I want. But I still like to play The Coil to get ascendant shards, enhancement cores and prisms. It's a fun way to get these materials.
19:02
Since season of arrivals, I played enough to clear the entire season pass for every season- Typically hitting season pass ranks above 200.
Except Season of Plunder, where I only got to level ~75.
I don't recall everything that was going on at the time, but it just didn't land for me. It felt even more mcguffin-y than the usual seasonal story. We didn't even know what we were collecting for most of the season, if I recall correctly- And everything being wrapped up with 'Nez-Tea' just felt really weird. Felt more like an Eris job than a Mithraxx one, imo.
There was also the whole back and forth between Eramis, Mithraxx, Eido, and Spider, that all felt a bit stilted to me.
I think Drifter summed up my feelings about it well.
"Mithraxx was- *gasp* - A Bad Guy!" Which- Yeah. Welcome to the club, pirate lord. The world is ending. We've looked over everyone else's war crimes, and you haven't committed one recently. Just get back to work, lol.
Here's a take that everyone probably won't agree with but i do:
The crucible playlist receives more attention from bungie than the strikes playlist (from witch queen to now)
Tbf there's tons of PvE stuff to do outside of strikes. PvP players don't have nearly as many options
@@user-to1su2iy4d Just considering strikes and the Crucible, nothing else.
I can say with 100% certainty, that there are true toxic assholes who will blame you for their faults in LFG, I still remember when I LFG’d for Vow and no one was communicating or tried to extend communication to me and booted me from the fireteam before I could even pick up the chest after the encounter.
On the Eris Morn take, there is actual lore that shows she has the potential to be evil. If i recall, most of it was from beyond light regarding Elsie Bray (exo stranger).
Yes but pretty much everyone went evil or died in that timeline and it feels like only eris got stuck with that baggage
My experience as a solo player with the in game fire team finder has gone quite well. Better then I expected. I mostly play crucible. Comp and hardware mostly. But now I have a few clears of Crotas , KingsFall and Root. Best advice I can give for a new raider is bringing multiple different weapons types with decent perks for DMG phases and ads. And also watch a quick guide vid to get a rundown of the encounters and the type of boss for the encounters. That way you know what subclass and guns to use for that particular encounter. Good vid BTW
Shadow out here making Destiny 2 AND Destiny 3 channels, subbed
Yknow I do actually stand by the opinion that lightfall wasn't that bad and people can be a bit dramatic about emphasizing its bad aspects... but the person saying that opinion in this thread really just went for the throat with it lmao. Like there are def still reasons to criticize it! People who don't like it are valid!
Last time I tried the LFG system was for the last boss of a dungeon (I forgot which one but it gave the cowboy armor) and I had to cycle through 10 different people because I just simply didn't not have a specific weapon for the last boss. Like bro, I'm just casually playing and just trying to beat it for the first time, just help and move on lmao
You should probably just make your own so you have people that join that you want
29:00 as a professional 3D designer I think you underestimate how quick and easy making new helmets would be, maybe not 20 minutes but 100% under an hour from scratch if I had the dimensions needed.
Making new helmets may be quick, but getting it approved won't be.

My take on weapon crafting.
I think it's fine, but I think Bungie chose the wrong weapons to be craftable.
World drops and the playlist weapons with 12 perks in each column should be craftable.
Not the endgame loot that you want players coming back for.
Every weapon should be craftable. Fuck grinds.

WHEN DID HE SHOW HIS FACE!??!??! NOICE
i think removing classes in favor of having a fully customizable ability set (supers, melees, jumps etc) would be sick. i understand why they would probably never do it, but we also never thought we would get a mix of subclasses either
also. bungie does hate one thing related to classes, and that is bubble EVER being useful lmao
"we also never thought we would get a mix of subclasses"
Guy, it was in the very first gameplay trailer of Destiny 1. We had a Warlock with Solar grenades, a Nova Bomb, and a Hunter's knife. Mixing elements was their first idea, and it had been mentioned in the lore since the beginning. Prismatic is not only not a new idea, it's their oldest idea.
@@OKay-ox3kh You're envisioning a meta where there's only one build. Destiny hasn't had that in a good while. Each year Bungie gives us more and more build variety. Bungie shows they can do that well so removing classes would allow them to add so much more uniqueness.
Oh and also remember, not all of us chase the meta. Many of us play for style or fun. With those goals in mind, we come up with so many builds. Your concern isn't realistic.
@@OKay-ox3kh You made a lot of assumptions, bud. Also, Bungie has gone on record to recognize Destiny as an Action MMORPG, not a FPS. It's you who doesn't understand what Destiny can be.
Also, your argument is so weird. You said that each class plays identical except for all the things that make them feel different. How tf is that an argument? That's like saying ice cream isn't cold except for when it's frozen. Doesn't make sense. Lol Jumps, movement options like dodges, shoulder charges and flight, class abilities, class buffs, melee options, supers, and aspects make Hunters feel different from Warlocks from Titans. They definitely don't feel the same right now.
Oh and about your comment regarding a Hall looter shooter, wtf are you talking about? There's almost no ability customization in Halo. What removing classes does is allow for players to build their Guardians however way they want. I can have a Titan jump, Hunter dodge, Warlock Icarus Dash, Shoulder Charge, Hunter Invis on Ability Kill, Nova Bomb, and whatever armor I want. It's so much more than just aesthetic customization. Your guardian can be anything you want it to be. No two guardians will play the same.
My guess as to why they didn't do this originally, they couldn't on PS3 and Xbox 360. Next Gen and PCs plus a new engine might allow for a more developed system.
@@Alassandros this is exactly why I’d want it, the customization would be so enjoyable. Being able to blink into a shoulder charge, Icarus dash into thundercrash etc would be so much fun.
@@Alassandros yes it was originally intended to have a mix of abilities but they moved away from it, so it was never thought to be a thing we’d get after that. Lore wise, classes are just the expression of whatever power is being used, felwinter could shoulder charge along with a few other crossover things like the fact hunters specifically learned how to blink from warlocks. Classes are only how you learn to use the power, not the only powers you can use. Im also pretty sure before classes were originally formed (before “guardians” was the term and it was just risen in the dark ages) there was a bit of hybrid ability usage but I don’t remember where I read that and I’m pretty sure it was grimoire from ages ago
As someone who does Destiny alot, I don't need to watch content creators, yet I do like the perspective. My favourites are people like Llama, Aegis and Datto, all have a slightly different perspective, yet they still are all pretty down to earth. The best way to get an opinion is to make your own experience anyway, just interesting to see what is going on outside my (very niche in sense of playstyle and loadouts) endgame bubble
My favourite thing about the people I play with is that we are actively fighting over who is going to do Adclear, as not a single soul wants to do it. We all want to do mechanics, but someone HAS to adclear
Plunder is a time I remember well as I finally got burned out during that time. I had begun my actual tryhard phase back in beyond light and then after Plunder I began to do endgame stuff casually (meaning goofy as loadouts for having fun in hard activities, not taking anything actually serious). Taking a break changed my view of the game so much that I haven't been burned out since, as I always knew that I could just do stuff for fun, instead of this "job". Fomo is irrelevant
I really did like Plunder though, especially the music
If they ever do a Destiny 3 I bet they remove the classes. They’ve slowly removed the class identities over the years and never really supported the subclasses the way they should have.
I am returning player. Basically bought everything I was missing - couple of dungeons for 121€ on sale. I am kinda worried I wont be able to enjoy major parts of it because after season all the exotic or catalyst qusets I have like zero mission are something I have no way of even close to completing even though I have dedicated buddy and we can do some dungeons with just two of us. Even clan does not seem much of help. They wanna do some last level of patheon all the time or something else. Not much time to help newbies it seems.
For the crucible take I CAN BET that 600k ppl atleast 70% of them only played for a mission(pathfinder/adas bounties etc)
It's like seeing the host of a radio show you've been listening to for years for the first time! Lookin good dude 😎
I dont mind the artifact mods but it just feels like the light level over the seasonal cap litteraly dosent matter. It seems like all the endgame content just light locks you to -15 light. It seems like a lazy and dumb way to make the activity harder
Maybe I am crazy but I keep getting blasted by basic adds on star-crossed legend mission and I have 100% resilience. On a solar bonk titan I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
I don't really get why you are talking about Zero Hour on Legend. I feel like the people complaining about difficulty are only talking about normal modes. Isn't that the whole point of the difficulty modes? To have a difficult version with an increase in loot to match the challenge. I'm not really giving an opinion on if the current difficulty is good or not, I just think your argument was off because you immediately jumped to Legend.
I agree, i was confused too at the beginning when the Mission came out, the only difference between normal and Legend mode is the path you are forced to Go, thats it ...the difficulty is the same. Very weird decision.
nah fam. some stuff should be gate kept. exotics are so easy to get nowadays. if you want the new stuff just get better. its an exotic its not supposed to be easy to get. legend is just there for the caty.
@@innocence3156 that literally isn't what the comment is saying. Normal mode had legend difficulty enemies despite what the game was telling you in the menus. On top of that, it also made the difference between normal and legend almost nonexistant
I sure wonder if canonically there are guardians that can do multiple different classes abilities
I did legend personally flawlessly in a team, but I'll still say that normal should be allowed to be normal. Sure, have that 20 minute challenge in legend, but why in god's name is there a -15 power delta on normal? Feels opposite of Bungie's intention to smoothen out the difficulty keywords in Final Shape, along with making character power matter more.
People that argue that we didn't have all this subclass power in original zero hour 20 mins, need I remind you that there were no power deltas back then either? I'd throw my whole 3.0 subclass away if it meant my weapons dealt 50% more damage.
Hottest take: Universal crafting should be implemented. Keep the 'shiny' system for people who wanna grind, but I wanna spend my time -doing- the content, not trying to gear to do the content. lmao
I fully agree with the "community has become bad at challenging content" take. With an ok build that takes one minute to make you can wipe the floor with 80% of the game's content with gray weapons except Master diff content. Not to mention that in the past 2 years Bungie has introduced so many new weapons mods that made them stronger than ever by a huge diffrence.
Haven't seen the full video yet, but one of the worst takes is when people STILL claim pve gets nerfed for pvp when we have had separate sandboxes for a while now.
They aren’t completely 100% separate, but yes, in many cases they are separate now which is great!
Actually it's happened several times now where a nerf for PvP kills that thing for pve
Young Ahamkara's spine, both hunter dodges, grenade builds, suspend, freeze, Nova warp, antaeus wards, Citans ramparts, Edge of action glaive, Gwinsin vest, hunter invis, spectral blades, Worm husk crown, Heir Apparent, Xenophage they all got nerfed because of PvP and that all carried over into PvE as well making them mediocre.
Someone’s forgetting the YAS nerf. Completely killed the exotic in PVE for PVP balance
27:33 to your point a lot of people dog on Shadowkeep for adding nothing to the game but it did add Armor 2.0, replacing random rolled armor perks with actual build crafting.
The reason people think wris is gonna be evil is because in the dark universe she is the mastermind and controls savathun
I think Bungie doesn’t hate certain classes, but they definitely undervalue them. If you look at warlock for example, the class specific sword is just a regular sword, and for the new light super and aspect they are also just reskins with no depth. Nothing new. They done did them warlocks dirty lol. Even in Light 3.0, so many warlock specific abilities were relegated to fragments or class-wide verbs accessible by anyone, and saw little to no return meaning a titan like me can access a ton of abilities that were once specific to to warlock while also stacking them on top of a ton of great things that make a Titan a Titan, but warlock only has those little things and a bunch of random abilities that don’t really do all that much.
A perfect example of this is void 3.0. As a Titan I have two melees that grant me overshield, an aspect that grants me overshield, and an aspect that gives me a ton of benefits for having an overshield active (increased grenade regen and melee damage, void-powered melees that stack with controlled demolition, and super augmentation on top of that). We also don’t require kills to get Overshields, can make them for Allies, and also have access to fragments that can grant it.
Hunters have a way to become invis baked into every single aspect they have and a ton of access to weaken. They don’t require kills and can grant it to Allies as well.
Warlocks have one way to get devour within their aspect kit and class specific abilities, it requires kills, and the fragment which grants devour makes it just as easy to proc. There is no extended benefit for having devour active; just regular devour, and to even get the full OG effect you still need to equip the fragment. No way to grant it to friends either. Even bloom was relegated to a fragment, and warlocks have no way of actually specializing in devour the same way other classes can specialize in their own verbs. I can play a Titan, steamroll the enemy with tons of Overshields, and have the same amount of access to devour that Warlocks have. It’s kinda goofy. Arc web became jolt, all classes now have easy access to arc traces, any a ton more. My Titan is a better warlock than warlocks are (speaking up get ready for that sexy new super, and HHSN 2.0)
Doesn't she(eris) become a hive god and destroy the world in the dark timelines that the exo strangers went to/from? or did I make that up in my head?
Nope, you are correct in the dark future Eris is evil.
Yes you’re right but I believe we already diverged from that timeline years ago
the problem with the engine is that its ANCIENT and due for some major upgrades.
9:09 that's actually insane, i played so little destiny 1 do to me me being uninformed and buying the game like 2 weeks before d2 vanilla launched and even i know bows weren't in d1, granted i wasn't aware of the lack of smgs, but remembering 2 weeks from 2017 in perfect detail isn't exactly easy, but bows weren't even in D2 until forsaken...
On the crafting topic, I think Bungie could have had a happy medium by having only randomly dropped weapons be able to have enhanced perks. So you would be able to craft 95% of the god roll you want, but if you want that extra 5% you would have to grind for it.
I love that zero hour was that HARD IN LEGEND ! I didn’t like it at first but when I beat it I completely understood why the made it so , the experience makes the grind worth it
I like the idea of not having classes. like have one character that u can swap any and all subclasses around like there are still “classes lore wise” but the class armor is more suited to the styles of play so u can use hunter armor on a titan but it’s not great just like in the lore you are not revived anything but the way you fight and your values are what make u a hunter titan or warlock. Literally everything would stay the same basically except you wouldn’t need three characters. And exotics would stay the same they would only buff a particular ability or style of combat. And have the armor stats reflect what stats the classes need/ prefer.
to be honest id like to see us start off as warlocks but with nothing.. if you want to become a true warlock you would read books and find knowledge to unlock your inner poetical or go off into the wild and become a hunter or go to the last city and become a titan
id also love to see are stuff be more tech based with are light energy being used to boost that tech.. are subclass would be like a tree with alot of hidden perks and you would unlock them either by growing the tree or through gameplay like if you use an exotic that grants invisibility like a hunter using patience and time kills while invis would unlock your invisibility in your subclass tree like a short cut + allowing you to grow from that ability onto other abilities
other subclass stuff would be tied to quests
new engine is absolutely required and infact a new team.. let bungie move on hopefully sony will have the foresight to stay out of that new teams way
3:30
I dont mind Zero Hour's difficulty... except for the shanks in the final boss fight. I swear they hit like trucks for no reason.
I still want them to add a raid mode above master, call it grand master, call it death march, I don’t care. But a mode that is so stacked against the player that you have to be juiced out of your mind. Give us the ability to infuse copies of raid weapons and armor into each other to “overcharge” them. Give me a reason to get raid armors. Add a bunch of better armor mods that only activate in that raid. Allow stats to go over 100 hundred and my armor, once infused a bunch, to have 10 armor mod slots and 35 energy. Because I’ll need every ounce of it.
I think a big problem with a lot of the content is the replayability comes from needing the loot, not as much the fun of the activity. So once you have the loot why would I play it again. I’ve been loving Crota and keep playing it even though I don’t have anything I need to earn.
@Shadow Destiny 3 I'm on the exact opposite end of the spectrum removing classes would be bad however our classes right now could be what I call root classes in Mass Effrect you have the Adept who is essentially the warlock you have the solider which is clearly the titan and the closest you'll get to a hunter is an infiltrator which is closest to the void hunter but many classes came from these three originals in Mass Effect using the Warlock as a basis for another class as well as the others would be a good way to go in my opinion.
The problem with zero hour is that its completely differently scaled than the others. Also, legendary exotic missions are hard as hell the normal difficulty does not need to be that hard
Respectfully gitgud or try using lfg🤷♂️
@viirgle8128 I have beaten the damn mission a-hole and I don't need LFG I have friends
25:27 But we as a community never suggested Bungie to rectify our complaints the way that they did. That was completely their doing.
as a community we never gave them anything to work with 99% of this community just says "fix this thing now" and offers 0 fix themselves, or even any ideas
For the crafting take, I used to believe it but then I looked at myself. I have like 3-4 crafted guns that are just superior to everything else I use and I just end up mostly not using them. Why?
Because even though they’re good they don’t do everything. Maybe the seasons mods don’t use it, maybe I’m doing a certain build, or maybe I just feel like using a different gun. I can never imagine using the same op gun for everything everyday
For the eris take. I belive that's mostly due to the dark future lore book. In one of the many timeliness that the exo stranger lived through, eris became evil and killed savathun, took her power and place
And that was the whole purpose of season of the witch, and it's ending. Proving that our eris is different and won't succumb to greed for power
Playlist catalysts seem to have a better chance to drop in Crucible than in Vanguard Ops, I can't really say for Gambit. I did over 100 Vanguard Ops and got 3 Catalysts and then did like 50 Crucible matches and got 8 catalysts, might just be bad luck in Vanguard Ops and good luck in Crucible though.
Bungo should start adding maps during new seasons or "episodes" now.
They probably wouldn’t do this but I would really like for them to make some things easier to solo, like raids is fine, but I’m saying for like dungeons, personally I love the ghosts of the deep dungeon I just really like the look and the whole setting is super cool to me but it’s super hard to find people to do it with and even soloing it is a very difficult task and would take hours to do. It would be nice for things like that to be like the legendary campaigns where the difficulty depends on how many people are in your fireteam to make these things possible for everyone but still are a challenge.
And to combat people who will just solo run everything super fast, they can make the loot pool different like it’s an easier chance to get the exotic to drop through playing with more people, same way there’s legend nightfalls and grandmaster nightfalls. So solo players can play and have a chance to get loot ( even if it’s a small chance ) that is locked to them because they can’t complete it without help
For the Bungie hates take, I do feel that Bungie has a preference towards Titans just because of the infrequency of heavy nerfs to Titans, even if the build or interaction in question is widely out of tune with their original intent and even further out of tune with what the other classes are capable of with their builds/interactions, but I do get that most of the problem with nerfing Titans is one of Bungie's own making with having the class identity of Titans be so narrow-minded that there's very little direction for them to go with new builds or adding utility/support to the class. Hunters and Warlocks both have distinct builds both Damage, Support and Utility, all of which being viable in endgame without being out of spec for lower and higher end content. Titans don't seem to have the same since it feels like most of their utility or support come in either a super or a very small portion of their build like the aspect or a fragment and not really requiring much depth.
I wouldn't say so, I'd say warlocks are their favorite, warlock just has the most variety of viable builds, sure its easy to look at how strong well has been and say "they only have well" but thats farrrr from true
Pretty sure Titans are the most nerfed class overall funnily enough. We may not get huge nerfs at once but we get several little nerfs for the same thing. I mean our best exotic (synthos) has been nerfed what 3 times this year alone? We started this year at 2x bonus damage and now we’re at 1.15x. And I don’t even wanna talk ab bubble bc that just makes me sad :(
I don’t agree 99% of LFGs are cool but I do think people exaggerate the issue for likes alot. In my experience less than half of the LFGs are toxic
I would rather see him pull out a warden's law, but I can respect the crimson. Really at the end of the day it's just about what gets the job done.
The crafting take is written by people who never played MMORPGs in their life. Even with raid guns being crafted Destiny raids have more then enough replayability since to get every 5/5 red borders you must complete a raid 30-40 times on average depending on your luck. This is more then enough to get tired of this raid. Same thing with most of MMOs.
For example, Lost Ark. You go in a raid, farm everything for your gear, you don't have the decisive need in this raid anymore, you farm it now for gold. And when you level up to maximum gear score you have no benifits from this raid at all, and you don't need to visit this raid on your main character ever again. Then you go to the next raid and the circle repeats itself again. You can have extra low level characters to farm it, but you don't farm the actual loot, you need just the main currency.
Destiny doesn't have gold or another rare currency that can be farmed only in raids. And in 95% of cases you will get the raid exotic within those 30-40 runs to get all the red borders. And usually these same 30-40 runs were enough to get the godrolls you want from previous raid system. Yet again - this is how MMOs work in general: you go in the raid (or any farm-oriented activity), farm out of it everything you need and move forward on the next game level. It is what it is.
FR though, LFG’s are not NEAR as toxic as people make them out to be. I find the people who complain about toxic people are the most toxic and get kicked because they act like jerks.
31:16 - kinda adepts were really good because of the combo big ones spec mod. but now that they're removing them it's really not going to be a big difference.
also i used to hate champions i always said i would be fine with them if there counterable in more ways than just the very specific weapon mod that season and lo and behold - they did exactly that. with so many counters to them baked into the actual subclass (except barrier but they can be CC'd so they have even more ways than normal) i atleast have variety in countering them so they are no longer and issue of forcing very specific builds.
I liked Lightfall in fairness! Strand is sick and the Story wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. Same with Builds i love messing about with mine i dont see the point in running pure Meta on a Strike 😂
Don’t know how hot this take is but: raid exotics should be the best exotics in the game. If you’re grinding week after week in raids you should be compensated accurately for it. Most raid exotics are borderline useless. How often do you pull out Collective Obligation? How often do you pull out 1k? How often do you pull out EoT? Hell even Anarchy nowadays. Vex is just kinda alright for pvp ig and ToM is just irrelevant atp. Raid exotics need to be the pinnacle of our weaponry not something we use once to try it out then shove in our vaults for years
2:30 I hate all of this. I was like that. If you think an activity is too hard, you're probably not good enough. And I don't mean to flame or shame anyone, but you can't expect every activity to be a run through. F.e. I'm not good enough to run solo Warlord's Ruin yet. Do I blame Bungie for making it too hard? No, it's not their fault. Legendary and Master content require a certain skill level and understanding of builds and strategy. But if you invest a bit of time you can solo dungeons in a week from now because this game - baby game
This is my first time seeing Shadow's face, nice to match with voice 😊
I disagree with Bungie with the “intended difficulty” . Because the OG whisper mission was WAY harder than the current version
i came from the time in d1 people wouldnt let you raid if you didint have just 1 gun (gally)
10:57 i think crafting is bad, but not because of the guaranteed god roll part.
It's that crafted weapons have just been superior to standard weapons, with the enhanced perks system (yes i know adepts have them now but they didnt initially). I think crafting would've been better if it was just based on a higher total of weapon drops instead of having the red border/deepsight system, and if they didnt have enhanced perks OR let any weapon have a perk enhanced, and let only adepts enhance both perks.
Marathon was already confirmed to have been cancelled
No? Where did you even hear that?
Me when I spread misinformation:
Kill two birds with one stone make champion stunning mods not rotate and give us a wider/more consistent variety of them. Most artifact mods are neat and fine to rotate and certain weapon types being permanently better against certain champions would be a lot easier to remember.
Hot take: all exotic should be broken and activity to earning them should be very difficult.
Destiny will forever be a PVE focused game with a PVP mode tacked on. I don't really care all that much on how many players play what part of the game, I cannot understate the value PVP has had on this game's lifespan, I'm well aware of the fact that without PVP, Destiny simply wouldn't be the same game and if we somehow went Destiny 1 launch to now with NO PVP, we'd all be HOLLERING for a PVP mode. But, regardless of value it delivers to the game in all manner of aspects, this game is PVE first and foremost. There is no comparable game in terms of feel, uniqueness, scale and capacity to make shooting things fun like Destiny. It's not perfect, but there are just not any other FPS games with such a well made focus on PVE components. The chord of balance Bungie has struck is impressive, between the raids, dungeons, mechanics, buildcrafting, feel of the game, the desire to get better loot, the content delivery... It's masterful.
Destiny is a one-of-a-kind and I think it is solely down to the PVE centric nature of the game and the mish-mash of ideas that almost seem haphazardly stuck together but turn out great. Had a similar thing been attempted with a huge PVP focus, I don't think we would've gotten anywhere near here and that to incorporate even HALF of what we have now. The game likely would've had a similar complexity to D1 even 10 years later. I don't think we would've got classes, subclasses, nearly as many class buffs/debuffs, nearly as many weapons, nearly as many pieces of exotic armour or weapons, nowhere near as many mods... Probably not even the same system of ammo or weapons. But because Bungie had to include all that stuff as part of the PVE game, they took the effort to implement working models of every idea into PVP and it's come back to bite them every now and then (Renewal grasp hunter... Hell stasis hunter in general), but I think both are better off for it from a sheer variety point of view. I'll of course get a lot of disagreements, some people will say destiny WOULD be better off with no special abilities, classes etc. and that it should be PVP focused. At that rate, why not just play COD or CSGO or some other purists all-shooting game?
Hot take: Bungie shouldnt nerf Lament
Agreed
This take is not hot 😭
Hey Shadow, are you planning on streaming anytime soon?
You know what? Fuck it, I actually would love to see what the game could look like classless.
But I'm also a ttrpg nerd that hates class based systems.
It’s funny, I both agree and disagree with the 3 comment about things like zero hour. I hate when players complain about things being too hard when they can’t just run around and shoot things mindlessly. The game is supposed to be hard in the endgame content. However, Zero hour sucks. That format of mission is just not fun, especially for players who don’t watch guides on everything
Shroud opinion on anything that is not cod should never be taken seriously
ok so to be fair the whole Eris is bad thing should be blamed on Bungie because they will not stop pushing that narrative that Eris is a dangerous person who in other timelines killed the vanguard....
I swear they've done it at least 5 times now. Hell Season of the Witch was the biggest and worst example
I do agree content should be hard for some things but I also believe it’s on bungie to inform us on that. It’s like getting hired for a job that says we’ll pay you 30 an hour btw we’re actually paying you ten an hour see what I mean I get legend is supposed to be difficult but normal difficulty should be well normal?
Let the hard content in the game stay hard but maybe give the players a change to earn the emblems from things like pantheon. Like say they made it to where you can do any pantheon mode and get the emblem but you can only get the godslayer title by completing it on contest mode. Just a thought. And bring back the flawless pool for trials.
My hot take on destiny 2 is that for the in game lfg I wish that they added ‘’no leaving allowed’’ tag even though ex I put a post in game for grand master I put patience and the people in my fireteam die they leave witch I hate
2:22 it’s more the case that there are more brain dead people than decent people. Tried it with duel destiny recently and omg I wasted the entire time trying to explain to guy what a clock looks like. After he told me that he knew what he was doing, it got to the point where I thought he was just trolling on every encounter. No one can surely be that stupid. Then I look back to my previous experience in lfg. Nah, it’s pretty normal.
I play xbox one and besides a handful of frame drops in super enemy dense areas its not actually that bad and im not paying $750+ for a new console that doesnt feel like its being utilized to its fullest, if anything im gonna skip them and go to PC and I wouldnt be surprised if plenty others feel the same
"in the words of Bungie themselves 'git gud'.. meanwhile they lost 45% of the revenue they were assuming to get due to being friendly only to the hardcore community.
Come on hardcore gamers, open up your wallets for bungie, you're the chosen one!
There are endless online games that closed shop due to being friendly only to the streamers/hardcore players (who have no other life outside of the game).
Did this dude really say destiny 2s micro transactions aren't bad? Lmao 100$ a year to keep play plus a extra 40$ for the dungeon that should come with the empty seasons. Not to mention battlepass amour being gone after the season and paid sets being 3 years old and 25 fucking dollars a single skin
WoW: $15 per month, plus $50 expansions. Over $200 per year. Destiny is literally HALF that. Destiny certainly isn't cheap, but it's far from having "the worst mtx in the industry"
Wow you have to pay to get the new content. What a completely ridiculous notion. Dungeons aren’t $40 and the expansions are only $100 if you buy the deluxe version
@ShadowDestiny3 not saying your wrong but comparing bad to worst isn't all that good either and there's plentybof old content that can be given to f2pers.
@@jaredelliott5778fallout 76 isn’t nearly as monetised and yet still gives their expansions for free. Stop being a fucking shill.
Bruh what? It’s $100 for EVERYTHING in the year. Not only that but the dungeon key is literally half of what you’re saying and guess what? If you spend the hundred you don’t even have to pay that $20 for the key. Also no shit the things in a battle pass are gonna disappear after the battle pass goes away. Halo is the only game I’ve heard of that DOESNT do that. If you wanna complain about cosmetics that’s fine that’s its own beast but the price is worth the content.
5:15 thats very presumptive as you dont actually know the person typing this out.. there is alot of background stuff with game engines but this one they are stuck with really sucks for this style of game
the amount of work they put into it its like content crunch just to get the game to work
faster updates and consistency
the main part is keeping the feeling the same from game to game and is absolutely doable if you say its not you really dont know what your talking about i could do it in unreal with borrowed assists and im not even a developer
you need people that really know the engine you are going to work with atleast 6 years of experience and then merge the learnings from the past 10 years of destiny
it would probably take them 3 years to cook something up and it would be the bare minimum but i say start small and work your way up this new game is going to have more then enough room to exercise our creativity..
for starters we only have 1 world and 1 map earth (maybe with some secret stuff like moon missions) we would add new worlds and player housing/ships when that is ready
the ships would be like war frames ships except flyable like in no man sky
the basic gameplay would be like if you took death strandings world design but experinced it through destiny's build.. stuff like stealth and optional combat would be a big part as killing enemies would have a big impact on your guardians story for example the fallen could permanently hate you because you have killed millions of them
id actually want legendary gear and exotics so be extremely rare but also very impactful and we have no need for light levels.. white and blue gear is what most players would be use to using and we would have armor and weapon mods that give you most your build expression after 3 years you would have full purple gear and probably an exotic
PVP would be in parts of the map like dark zones but if we want the unlock the crusible we have to actually found it by finding shaxx and doing his quest as a community to eventually unlock it
(story wise with D3 the traveller fractured time to escape and we fall through the cracks ending up landings just after the golden age collapsed and we have to right the traveller and found the last city also finding all the yet to be leaders with help from the speaker tho other characters also bleed through these time cracks, over time the cracks would heal and time is rest)
Stopped watching and listening to Shroud and other "famous" streamers who don't get the game. Playing D2 gives me enjoyment enough that I don't need to watch these "online talking heads" enjoy themselves.
I listen to Byf, Aztecross and (occasionally) Datto for Destiny2 takes, because their words carry weight in the community, not Shroud or that self-proclaimed two-time champ of whoever the fuck he thinks he is.
Unironically there is zero excuse for Destiny to not be playable on Steam Deck.
I would rather play with cheaters in every single activity than have the game not be playable on Linux because the like 10 people who play Trials piss their pants over cheaters.
9:14 a streamers chat gaslit him lmfao
Bungie doesn't hate Titans, or Warlocks, or Hunters.
Bungie hates Guardians.
Just stating the math here... Thunderlord does 3951 per shot with 290 rounds... That's 1,145,790 damage. Apex Predator with bait and switch does 105,616 a shot with 7 rounds. That's 739,312. Why hate on Thunderlord? I never understand this
The main thing is how fast does it take to unload your entire reserves and because of the nature of thunderlord being a machine gun it takes a lot longer to deal the 1 million damage compared to apex where you can fire two shot immediately using reconstruction and dump the entire ammo using radiant dance machines or grapple reloads or all the other reload bypass methods. Not saying Thunderlord is shit just saying this is the usual arguments against using thunderlord
I don’t like the Bungie tendency for asymmetric armor
Soo i joined this new clan so i can have friends to do raid because usually is only 2 of us me and my friend so we are looking for friends to do raids so we posted in their discord chat” theres 2 of us and we looking for people to do pantheon we dont knoe much but we are willing to learn” these people literally said “ in pantheon theres a timer and is impossible to stop and teach someone” and someone else also said” watch youtube videos it helps alot” what the hell lmaoo . Watching a video and being in the actual raid is not the same and mind you i have watch plenty of videos but dont you have to be there to actually learn and get good?
Bungie hates warlocks, Bungie hates titans, Bungie hates hunters.Bungie loves the game
I disagree with the getting mad at crucible take you had here. I think a right to get pissed when crucible is nothing but shotgun sliding titans and gilded flawess ttv's. Its not fun to play and it is insanely infuriating
i think there are a lot of “lfg bad” posts that are not telling the whole story.
Removing ability spam would make it D2 year 1
I was your 197 sub
Nah using some builds do make you bad I once 1v1 a build where they wouldn’t take damage. Some of this builds breaks the game.
shadow a baddie fr tho
How’d you go from saying that the story is only 2-3 hours of content when reacting to Timbos vid on solos… to now saying that Lightfall was not good simply because you didn’t like the story but essentially welcomed all other aspects of the expansion? The logic just seems oddly fallible for someone that does what you do in this community.
It depends on what type of player you are. Some care about the story more than others. Yes it’s only a few hours of content
Did shroud play competitive or trials cuz what the fuck😂
