I remember playing on russian anarchy servers a 5-7 years back and their bases were insanely cool. Ender pearl countermeasures, digging counters, chorus fruit counters, wither counters ah nostalgia The Ideal base would be an obsidian box under the ocean (or at least large enough pool of solid water) so withers would be less effective. To prevent chorus tping there was an additional layer inside filled with minecarts that entity cram you. And yet people would still find a way to break in, this is kind of a part of human nature (and I love it)
Would you happen to know where we can find more information recorded on this subject? Or would we have to investigate these Russian anarchy servers ourselves?
0:43 honestly, my first thought was “mine under it”. One of the biggest things I’ve learned about playing on a server is that the safest base is the most subtle. I had a base that no one could find, and it was just a hole in the ground with a bunch of chests, a bed, and an enchanting set up. All my valuables were kept under my bookshelves, so no one stole from me since they didn’t really expect to find anything valuable in a hole in the ground base. Guess what people think when they see a giant and “secure” base? They either don’t care, or they see a challenge. They think “imma beat this thing”, and keep trying to break in, which just leaves you paranoid and worried. If you have a subtle and quiet base for your valuables, you’re less likely to be stolen from, and guess what you can also do? Write down coordinates for your valuables and hide them! It leaves the risk of someone randomly finding them, but if you put them at the bottom of the ocean for example, or by the stronghold, places where people are usually just coming and going, they’re not likely to be found unless someone's actively looking for them.
I thought this base was really secure but then I had a very good idea, I used F5, see using f5 gave me a whole new prospective and I was able to see that this base was insecure

You can create a safER base but never the safEST. More complex and challenging designs will help to deter the average person, but someone with determination can and will find a way in. The safest ways are to either make it very difficult and rely on deterrence or make it very well hidden. Not even bedrock would make the base 100% secure because we've actually seen people get bedrock on 2b2t and some other servers and they still were eventually broken into and raided.
I really love how the lightning serves zero purpose other than look scary, which I think is this base's primary purpose. It's secure because it looks impossible to break into, not because it actually is.
@@ecomog4735pretty sure the original creator made the tnt to fly far enough to not damage the traps. @@Retard_4Life I don't know...but from what I saw from the video, the TNT's coverage is kind of spotty, like you can be directly in the line of fire and can end up unharmed due to its sporadic spray pattern.

2:313:22 I love the little detail of while he's explaining why this base is actually secure, he's just chilling in the middle of the "danger" zone with nothing but a few blocks and doors while in survival
It's common knowledge that the only legitimate way of securing a base in Minecraft is to just hide it. Because anything you can make can be broken into eventually, given enough time. Your best bet is to just pick a random direction, and walk for an hour and don't build anything that's too noticable.
This exactly. And don't even bother building on the surface. Just build your whole base underground or even into a mountain. Don't even bother marking the entrance with torches or anything. Combined with being in a remote location, no-one will ever notice it is there, if you do it right. You can always just jot down the coordinates if you are worried about getting lost and finding the base again later. Oh, and be careful about keeping livestock, they are very noisy, especially in large numbers.
That's why tbt2 bases don't have defense like these or anything, better use of time and resources is to just run until you end up in the middle of nowhere
I remember making an unbreakable base that was made by walking for a few thousand blocks. Building up to right below build height. Making a 2 layered obsidian box and putting all my shit in there. Was never broken into once until my brother revealed the cords to the whole server and like 5 different clans all raided me at once
I like how you mention that this base wasn't designed with placing and breaking blocks in mind, but then you still get through the base in adventure mode.
DUDE I LITERALLY SAW A COMMENT COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT Someone said "a new player wouldn't have knowledge of the defenses" and like... you can see the defenses... they are very clearly there on your screen, there's no barrier between the layers, I don't think it's physically possible to go in without knowledge of the defenses unless your monitor and speakers are off
fun fact, i'm pretty sure you can input stuff on a pc without a monitor, you just won't see any changes. therefore, theoretically, you can breach the base WITHOUT A MONITOR. Then plug in the monitor to see if you succeeeded. hardest part would be booting up minecraft.
well he basically just did the same thing as with a elytra only with blocks its minecraft what did u expect how can u make a base secure if u can destroy everything and build urself everywhere
This was so fun to watch. Also I have a younger brother who is absolutely sure that this is how you build a safe base, and I cannot convince him, but now he can see for himself.
Yeah, even in the original video Carv kinda just poked fun at his own premise by having his buddy just fly straight through everything right at the end. The trap designs are all a neat idea, but as my own time in Terraria taught me, no one's designs will ever survive a clever player.
Its impossible to build the safest base for one fundamental reason , you yourself still need a way to get in and out of your own base. I suppose it might be possible still with Redstone or secret passages and such but the moment its found out your whole bases defenses are just screwed
I mean an obsidian cube several hundred blocks thick with nether portal traps whose entry and exit is via stasis chambers would be pretty daunting close to impenetrable
@@pendingchange3776Yep, though perhaps not the most cool base for a thumbnail, its still the best way to trully secure a base against players. I remember that in 2B2T, the best fortreesses and defenses were of pure obsidian, perhaps not the most flashy and awesome designs, but sure as hell the most effective!
Gaia's vault has youtube video and a public manual with like 30 pages with explanations on how to get in and out as an ally, it's completely unstoppable and only one person has ever legitimately found a way to escape as prisoner. Even entering the first layer is nigh impossible as there are layers of obsidian and lava with elder guardians and chunk ban abuse and lots of other glitch abuses as well. And guards.
To make an actual safest base that nobody can enter, set up a chunk ban. Maybe ad some lag machines, and a couple of command blocks set or rapid timers with the command "/kill @p"
Yeah these ‘safest bases’ are usually pathetically easy to enter. Their creators never critically analyze their defenses to determine whether they are actually necessary and often create ‘easy defenses’ that are redundant and pointless, serving to introduce more vulnerability
@MeboDotExe No it does not. It looks as if a unicorn, zeus and satan took a large dump on the same place. Cant even compare this look to actual minecraft bases, which would make a lot more beautiful and impressive preview than this horseshit.

@@Sagryl You can still just bring a milk bucket or tnt to break the blocks with... Mining fatigue is only an effective defense against someone with no items
@@mcflyingfury I know, I never said the base was practical in any way, I just think that it made the timer in the last two break in attempts very inaccurate.
Is easier to destroy than to create. No base outside of a server with specific plugins or mods is safe from being destroyed or infiltrated. Still really good video showcasing all kinds of movement options to get inside of this base.
Here's my super cool idea for a safe place to store items 1. Grab 8 obsidian 2. Get an eye of ender 3. Open a crafting table 4. Put the eye of ender in the middle 5. Surround it with obsidian 6. Take the cool item from it and put ur valuables there Now you have a safe base!
Doesn't the original base have an Elder Guardian in the middle practically preventing breaking blocks? While that wouldn't make it foolproof (it'd probably still be very easy to break into), that certainly would make it a bit more challenging than you've shown, no?
Mining Fatigue only makes it longer to break blocks, once he boxes himself in he (person breaking in) can take his time to mine into the base. Will take too long to record.
Ironically, that's the best security tip you often get, it's impossible to make it completely safe, only very very annoying to get in and not worth the risk
I have a design for a base that is completely impenetrable while also easily letting the owner access it. The best part is that it’s survival friendly, only requiring eight obsidian and an eye of ender to build. I would tell you how to build it, but I don’t want the design getting leaked.
My first thought went to pillaring up and in. It's a design thing that makes Minecraft rough to develop for. "Just dig straight to it", "Just pillar straight up", just cut/dig straight through" There's nothing a Minecraft player can't resolve by either punching it or building it.
I saw the thumbnail of that video and immediately concluded it would be the easiest thing to break into. The only safe base is a hidden one, and this is a giant advertisement saying: "Break into me."
I looked at this base and thought it was very secure. But then I had a very good idea - I used blocks. See, using blocks gave me the ability to render all the security of the base useless while taking 0 damage without any armor/potions. Simple.
Okay, while all these pretty defences being easily bypassed with basically any means of going around them was obvious, I definitely didn't expect it was possible to charge through them without any equipment
Since you have so many options in Minecraft such as blocks and other mechanical things, it is really difficult to create a base that offers protection.
A while ago, I came up with what I believe is the safest base design, and I think I still stand by it. It's all underground, and it's really just a lot of obsidian and lava layers encasing it. It should be obvious why the obsidian is there, and the lava layers would be really thick to force you to swim through a lot or something like that (also making fire resistance mandatory). And that's it. If you have even a diamond pickaxe, you can easily get in, and if you go in at the top and use sand to make a chute to keep the lava away, you can even go without fire resistance. And then there's the entrance for the people who actually should be there, which will definitely make a weak spot. The only reason this would actually work is if it is HIDDEN, and if it is found, it could still work if it makes whoever found it think they've just found a cave flooded with lava or something, and so they don't persist. TLDR: Mumbo Jumbo summed this up pretty well: "The only safe house in Minecraft is a hidden one!"
I just build eight million hidden dummy bases and build more when it’s convenient. They can’t ever figure out where your base is when your base is everywhere! Also, sometimes I *do* use them.
Yer... The base is kinda dumb. It only works if you obey very specific rules, and it also only works fully during 1 particular type of weather that is quite rare. All these safest bases just don't work without other mods, commands, datapacks etc to add additional mechanics. Still thanks for showing just how easy it is.
Its funny how simply "don't use an elytra" is the main rule, despite the fact that EVERYONE would likely have an elytra since its the most useful item in the game.
You know, watching the first video, after the traps started going off, i could only think to myself "wow this base sucks lol" half of the traps didn't even work. Good to see i wasnt the only one who was confused by the whole thing

Ender pearl countermeasures, digging counters, chorus fruit counters, wither counters ah nostalgia
The Ideal base would be an obsidian box under the ocean (or at least large enough pool of solid water) so withers would be less effective. To prevent chorus tping there was an additional layer inside filled with minecarts that entity cram you.
And yet people would still find a way to break in, this is kind of a part of human nature (and I love it)
Plus you have to have a way to get inside yourself otherwise it's not really a base.
the giant underwater obsidian lava bricks that was our faction base brings back memories

5:34 ok, now this is hilarious. Bro roasted the author of the map SO hard
Indeed lol!

The safest base is one you can't actually find. That's why when I build a base, it's usually far underground with a couple hidden entrances/exits
