I was dead in an instance due to radical temperature drop.
Shortest and most intense playthrough ever.
you forgot "cold and wet" which gives you the visual cues that your cold or wet it has options to slow you down and impare your vision during storms it includes weather gear as well

That is a good one. The frosty breath when you get caught out in the cold is pretty cool
The only downside to no fast travel is the Dawnguard DLC. It has you going back and forth across the whole map constantly. However no fast travel is a great way to play.

I absolutely love just walking/riding around Skyrim without fast travel. It's so beautiful
i tend to only fast travel to the major cities. than i walk around 99% of the time.
yeah, fast traveling to the nearest major city and then walking is a good middleground between not getting bored of just traveling and actually having fun traveling.
The sad thing is, that the Thomas the Tank Engine mod that replaces dragons with Thomas... ...is real...

I've been playing with all those for a little now and it's fantastic. With the visual and weather mods out there, fast traveling takes away the breathtaking landscapes and environments that you'll miss when you just fast travel everywhere.

These mods are so fantastic. Takes you're to a new world where your needs comes first over missions. Sort of a mix between Skyrim meets the Sims only 100 times better

I'm a stickler for the experience that was meant to be...however I've been so curious about trying them and no idea where to start...and here you come with your goddam perfectly timed video! Boom! Thanks so much for these suggested mods, Clare! ^o^ I want to finish the main questline of Skyrim first, but then I'm definitely going to hit up the Alternative Start mod, and the iNeed one, and I might try not fast travelling. I do it so much now, because I'm too impatient, so it will definitely be interesting trying to get from Riften to Solitude on foot!

I've never been a big fan of the whole "naked and afriad" start to Skyrim or any other game for that matter. Walking around, in your underwear, with no money, weapons or any kind of past experience prior to your start of the game neer made sense to me. That's why I love Alternate Start! It makes sense! You have a life and the start of the game and, more importantly, you have clothes XD
I would add the "Dwemer Storage Cube" from the Bethesda site. They have a "cheat" version of the mod, where you have access to every article of gear as well as all the crafting station and chest filled with crafting materials. This gives you the ability to give your character specific and much better gear from the very beginning as well as accessories and other periphials to match the build you wish to attain. Also, with all the crafting staion at your disposal in one area, you can craft the weapons and armor, if you've added weapon and armor mods, from level one ...adding further to the customization of your character and completing your character build much easier.

only downside is you end up with a s##t ton of stuff in the container and it takes ages to move stuff
Anton Fowler , ya bro... until they make a Sky UI SE... its gonna be rough going for a while. that's one of the areas the current modding community is not very active, in UI updayes for SE
The more stuff in a container the slower it moves in and out of your inventory
It takes about 3 seconds to put 1 item in my storage at the moment

I love the Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim it overhauls the perk system and it works really well
i love the alternate start and have used it for a long time. also love the bags and bandoleers mod both for the extra carry weight and look. scaling magic is one i love make your mage feel lik an actual mage instead of those beginner spells always feel like an apprentice. i have a lot of mods i enjoy. a harthfire mod to expand your first homestead and build a wall around it
Decided to replay Skyrim after watching this .Those mods are a great refresh .
I know this is an older video but I recommend "The People of Skyrim" if you're going to disable fast travel and walk everywhere. It's a hefty mod but what it does is add new locations everywhere to the map, expand upon smaller settlements, adds over 300 new npc's, hundreds of generic enemy spawns, smaller details like boats and hatcheries, horkers tied up, etc. It also adds tombs, broken structers, etc. It's a really nice touch.

When I play modded Alternate start is always included. I normally don't play Frostfall, I feel it makes it harder without adding any benefit. Also Wet and Cold goes hand in hand with Frostfall. But all in all a nice selection of mads.

Recommend adding these mods:
Skyrim Sewers. Actually, you could make a video / videos out of the storyline down there.
Footprints (looked this up due to your comments on the footprints left in the Tomb Raider videos - it's not as good, but it's pretty good, since all creatures now add footprints,and u can see what happened during a combat)
Skybirds. Actually, the actual rendering of the birds could be better, however, the birdsongs, flitting of the critters and the ability to collect feathers for alchemy makes this an awesome immersion.
Hey Clare, if you have the dragon born dlc, go to thirsk mead hall and you can get a reikling follower. Make sure that when you get there DONT attack the reiklings outside. Just a tip, love your vids Clare 😁
Video should've been called how to transform skyrim into a survival, but it's still great ! I've got a bit bored of skyrim after so many hours and playing all quests multiple times, I'll ive these mods a try to play again !

This is a dumb question, but does the "Just Walk" mod force you to walk at that speed? I actually want a mod that changes the default walking speed to be a bit slower then the "jog step" you do by holding the analog stick up. Anyone know of any or if this mod does it? Thanks!
Campfire is required to play Frostfall. The other one I can't leave without in Skyrim, and Skyrim SE is Wet and Cold. Wet and Cold goes with Ineed, Realistic Water Two and Frostfall and Campfire. This mod will make the graphic slow and water drips look good. Also It has Backpacks from Campfires and cloaks (skyrim 32 bit anyways.) I love this mod and would suggest it with all those others. There many more I would suggest too.

I would never fast travel anyway but isn't there an MCM option in Frostfall that disables Frostfall? I use so many mods I may be thinking of another.
Does mods affect trophies or the main story line? Such as the live another life mod?
Frostfall gives you the option to disable fast travel, this is a list of 4 mods and 1 feature of a mod made into its own mod...

if on PC you can also just disable fast travel via console , so no mod required for that anyways.

For iNeed, Frostfall, and the Campfire mod, how difficult are they to uninstall from your Xbox game? I have been tempted by them but if I don't like them, I don't want to corrupt my saves if I don't like them.

Try Race Menu mod with Alternate start .I am a PC user . There is a diesese mod that goes with INeed , where by you have to clean drinking water cook food before you eat .

Yep you can choose the vanilla start at the statue of mara but if you choose any other start you can go to helgen and loot a journal from a burned corpse amd that will start it
