Rarely comment but I have to say this video is to me one of the all time greats from the island: Dean H. - 916 - mountain course - helmet cam. The sound. So pure. Thank you
What a bike !!!!!! What a circuit!!!!!what a rider !!!!!!!! Made my Friday night that 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
OH that sound, that's what dreams are made of. Takes me back to my youth.
You really get a sense of the speed with that camera angle and the bark of that 916. Wow Dean is flying!
Crazy head buffeting from the wind. Awesome to be here listening and seeing a Ducati getting ridden to the maximum. Dean is an incredible rider, modern superbike, classic superbike or Manx Norton.
Saw him through Creg Ny Baa last night, what a pleasure to see and hear this bike ridden at full pace on this circuit 🙌🏻
Just wow! That bike sounds amazing and is so smooth. Dean's riding is awesome too of course. Thanks for sharing this.
She sounds lovely! Go on Deano.
This Video should have million more views. Awsome stuff
A proper bike with proper sound. I wish we'd get more footage of these bikes ridden by pros nowadays.
wish we had full coverage the same as the TT!
Yeah I wish they had a shot of all the older bikes from early 2000’s see what they could do on them now
As an owner of a 95 916 SP - This has got to be one of the best vids Ive seen in a very long time. Go Dean - wishing you all the best from South Africa.
I own a 916 and until today though I was quite fast on it but this was f*#%ing epic 😁 bravo dean bravo 👏
Cannot believe how difficult and different this footage shows riding TT circuit is. I’m getting blisters on my hands watching. Simply outstanding and beyond!!
Circuit pedesaan😂😂😂😂😂
no safety 😇
👍👍👍👍👍 GP lewat
What an amazing video! Never seen one like this before which gives you the sense of how fast they're going. Also, what an absolute pukka bike - beautiful!
What a sound 👌🏻 best video Ducati onboard
Massive supporter of Dean, cracking lad, met him briefly at the TT a few months ago, was very chatty and approachable. And I have to say, that looks no-less-mental than the full on modern day TT stuff!! Absolutely crazy going through the first half of the circuit and into Kirk Michael, absolutely bonkers!! (Not that his GF will be wanting to hear that!)
Hello mate :)
Dean Harrison is fast becoming one of my favourite riders
That's a really truly awesome video catching an iconic bike in full flow,, and a great rider on the machine,, as others have said probably one off the best on board laps ever ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland

Clean pair required for the rider Dean passed on the approach to Ballaugh. This video is fantastic.❤
That brings back memories of my 916 they loved to be ridden hard that’s what they were made for .
My 749 was the same, loved to be ridden hard and wasn't happy unless it was being ridden hard.
But always felt safe because the bike felt happy doing what it was created to do. Smooth and stable but changed direction before you had to ask.
Its a shame servicing costs were so expensive. Thats the only reason i sold it.
Love the sound of the bike, awesome Rider,,Dean you are so smooth, seems like you are getting used to that bean burner, looks faster than it sounds, sounds like a lawnmower underwater lol, good luck to you Dean always a bonus to watch you race, faster than the IRS
Saw dean Harrison at the TT said hello ,Respect!
Great video! Would love a detailed bike-check on this 916.
October issue of Classic bike mag, have a full write up about the bike and the team that built it for Dean
@@sjr999r thanks mate.
I love this video, especially because it has two of my favorite motorcycles in it: The 916 and -briefly- the ZX-7R. Both look great after all these years…
These lads make it look like a video game.... 🏁👊💪🏁
Whoosh🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪
That seemed to be so fast. Go DeanO Harrison 👏🙌🏍🏍
Young Harrison is a very underated rider, hes really up there with the top guys.
Wow! Dean Harrison on a 916. Think you should get rev counter sorted though Dean ,needle seems stuck at 10 000 revs 😉😂😂👏👏👏👍.
Desmo Sound. Love it.
The best onboard lap of the mountain course ever. The John McGuinness 2015 lap 1 is now no.2 on my list.
almost spilt the wine! truly a edge of the seat ride from deano, he a Kawasaki yorkshire Rocket, any one watching this thinking, to heck with contractual obligations , having this ride in 1999 and a certain guy called carl on board!,
The older it gets, the more reliable it gets! No more: "Ducati? How you getting home?" 😅 .
FAST! Thats how I'm getting home👌
You know they weren't that bad, you just had to take good care of them, keep her happy and she'll keep you happy.
Basically fix them before they break and then they don't break. Bloody expensive but worth it, i wish i could still afford one.
The Japanese bikes are too easy, i miss having to be in the right gear at the right time all of the time. A 4 cylinder Japanese bike on the road you only really need 2nd 3rd and 4th gear.
On an old Duke you need them all, try accidentally setting off in 2nd on a ducati, or accelerating out of villages in 4th gear, cough cough grunt. Its really satisfying changing gear out of necessity and listening to the engine go up and down through the gears.
On a Japanese bike you've got to pretend to need 2nd or 3rd gear etc., because it will quite happily get up and go in any gear.
Just brilliant
This brought back so many memories of my one and only trip to IOMTT which I somehow survived🤨 I can remember just how unnerving most of this circuit was and the only place I ever felt safe was on the mountain. Funnily enough the unbelievably scary (for me ) Ballaugh Bridge looks a doddle in Deano's hands. What I can't get over is the excessive wind and engine noise combined with the constant buffering, I felt absolutely knackered watching it. These riders are pretty special.
The mountain was the terrifying bit, doing 130 on my ducati 749 and styill spending mere time looking in the mirrors than where I'm going (if you've ridden a ducati you know the mirrors give you a great view of your elbows).
Bloody terrified of pulling across infront of someone doing 170 on a 1000. They were mor scary than the course. Easier to ride that speed on an open road than on the mountain with so many nutters.
Yes, the nutters were far more scary than the course. They watched the pro racers and then decided their ability exceeded their obvious limitations. The nutters who overtook at high speed on wrong side of road on blind bends. The amount of smashed up front ends from wheelie "kings" crashing or hitting cars on the wrong side of road. And the begging bowls because they only had 3rd party insurance. I felt safer on the mountain, maybe naively, because I felt I had more options to get out of trouble rather than the open road brick walls elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong the IOMTTs was an incredible experience and it should be on everyone's bucket list. However, next time I'll take the advice of one enthusiast "I survived Mad Sunday, I sat in the pub all day"'😀
This is legendary already!
Great video, bike still looks awesome after all these years, hope someone does one on a Kawasaki zxr 750 as that would also sound incredible
You have love the sound of the Ducati agreat bike and great rider good luck in t he race Dean
Love it, so good, makes me want to take my 916 sp1 out, but it’s raining.
A fantastic rider on a fantastic machine
Mighty as always deano 💪👌
Amazing stuff. 🏆👍
Mad.
That’s a sound I recognise…I had a 916 Strada many years ago. Not the fastest bike in the world, but very classy.. The only v twin I have now in my ‘wee collection’ is a ‘99 Suzuki TL-R.. Not as pretty, but has more grunt.
Superb👍👌🇮🇲
epic!!!!!!! go go Deanoooo
Thks , great man. 👍👍👍👍
Awesome ❤
Yes!!!!! That is it
Brilliant!!
Respect 🏁
Deano lad that's fuckin flyin kidd power son 💯💪
916 the GOAT
Didnt the motor end up blowing up later?
Love the chin cam, way better than the motogp shoulder cam, but... would be good with a remote mike down under the tank somewhere 😁
Viva DUCATI !
916 still sounds great
You would not want to be the rider sent out to beat Dean.
It's the girl on the back I feel sorry for, holding on and filming what a girl.
Nice. That bike is still fast.
Ginger hall - Parliament sq 🤯🤯🤯
Sounds like hell on wheels
Would love to know the motor spec, sounds and revs more like a 1098 ! Great watch .
really close after waterworks2. GASS!!!
Out for a sunday cruz nice
jeez fn christ that sound.
He is changing gear at 11.000 rpm if she pulls that high. I would guess the engine has around 130 horsepower not more maby less. Nice riding
❤❤❤
Nippin down the shop to get milk and sugar!Well you forgot the milk Dean, so go back and get the milk.
proper🏍
Wonder what the spec is on this bike
Wow I didn’t see that coming Denn on a Ducati he is one of the best around the TT I wish that the Kawasaki was just a little bit better it was little dated Go get ‘em Denn
Thats why he is moving to Honda for next yrs TT
At the end they edited out the part where dean returns the Ducati back to the owner with every painted panel completely trashed with pebble chips 😝.
Wow! The Gobment could "clone" these Guy's, to make soldiers. Absolutely NO FEAR!😀
How does anyone manage to process and react to what’s coming up when you’re going at that speed. I know they learn it by heart and practice a lot but my mind doesn’t work that quickly.
Ive never raced but your mind does become accustomed to it, and as your mind speeds up the surroundings essentially slow down. I've felt that sensation, you dont even realise how much you do think until you look back on something that happened and realise you must of put a lot of thought into that.
I assumed most fast road bikers have felt that, being in the zone so to speak. You just do what you do instinctively.
Well these guys do the same, but have the skill to take it to the extreme rather than just have fun on the open road.
If this race car hadn't broken down that day, Dean Harrison would have definitely won against Michael Dunlop
This rider is all over the road. Don't they know we ride on the left in the uk.
Love to know the spec of this 916! Road versions are gutless after 100mph
Really? Newer i know but my 749 pulled well until 135 before running out of puff at 145-150.
Would have assumed a 916 would have atleast matched a 749 for grunt.
Anyone know what average speed per lap he's doing on this?
This lap is about 123.5mph. His quickest this week is 125.9mph.
@@islandspirit7599 Can say it Amazing, compared to Iom tt superbike lap there a lot that slower than it with new bike,, Dean was such top rider in Iom
Holy Moses 😂
Che piloti un coraggio pazzesco
Imagine Dean on a pbm ducati
i think this is going to get a lot of views, a red V twin getting spanked
👍👍👍✌️🇺🇦✌️УУХ! КЛАС!
I don’t like this video... I love it! Brings back memories of the Britten from 94.
The FPS can even keep up….
Sounds like he'll on wheels 😮
Cooking
Music
This is good but i prefer Rob hodsons lap on zxr 750 kawasaki,. i,m waiting for an ian lougher 250 lap,.
He should do a week in jail for bike abuse poor thing another level
If the Duc can survive the MGP, it could make a go at the TT...V4 Panigali in 24!
I absolutely hate kirk michael through to ramsey lol - worst part of the circuit for me, absolutely LOVE Glen Helen upto Kirk Michael and the mountain section!
WHAT !!! Maxton forks and surely shock on a Ducati 916 ..Blasphemous - LOL tremednous amount of leverage given clip-on bar length . Bet Deans has the damper set very high ..Will the cam belts take the punishment at WFO ... good to see the venerable 916 at the "Amateur TT" nothing beats the sound of an L twin ...except Triumph's triple howl..
