Alright, so the video is back. I wasn't happy with how it turned out for multiple reasons, and now, I can safely say that I'm finished with B3313. Thank you for being part of this awesome journey, and thank you everyone who contributed to this awesome project in any way, shape or form.
The old video is private... I wrote a comment on it that took me a good half hour or so to put together because it was full of many different feelings, bit miffed by that but I'll try to recap most of what I said and get to the point. I loved b3313, I still love it, it's inspiring, amazing, proof of the talent and creativity of all those involved, proof that the internet allows creative and artistic output you cannot find anywhere else, and this game fulfills things I didn't think could be touched upon anymore. Mike, thank you for your time making these videos, they're appreciated and helped me to appreciate some of the disorganized chaos in the plexus. I am working on my own personal map for v1.0 and I'm having a blast. Makes me feel like a child again and I love it. As for you Chris, if you're watching this video and you see this comment, I want you to know you are loved and there's this little game named Cave Story that has a certain character say something you might get something out of. He's the gunsmith and you steal the first weapon from him in the first cave. You're given multiple chances throughout the game to ditch the weapon for something better but if you hold onto that little peashooter till the very end something good happens. The gunsmith is angry at first at the player, but then he gets emotional seeing his work be used. He takes it, upgrades it (to the best weapon in the game) and then drops these few lines of wisdom "There remains a very delicate balance in this world... Between those who create and those who will experience the creations of others." "I can't say that I wasn't aware of this. However, I had never experienced it. Now, thanks to you, I finally have." "As long as there is someone who will appreciate the work involved in creation, the effort is time well spent." "To this end, I will continue to create for as long as I can.'' Thank you so much for bringing such a wonderful piece of art to life.
I got some positive things to take out of my chest, I hope you don't mind... I can understand what caused you to edit the video. One can see the immense respect you have to those close to you. Nevertheless, I am confident to say that all of us who followed you enjoyed the journey you made us embark with you. You put a smile on many of us, and by that extent, you, bidkip and others I haven't followed allowed even the devs to make us smile as well. This project brought positivity to us. And for that I say : thank you, to ALL of you. From the bottom of my heart. I wish you the best in your future projects and dreams 😊
One day i still wanna make a video or at least write a bigass document about this rom hack since it really facinates me, i respect you a lot and i hope to see more of you. Cheers for the ones still stuck in their own walls
55:25 to be specific this is referencing a surfaced video of the Mario 64 beta being played by the public back in 1995, there was one tv that displayed actual multiplayer, with Mario and Luigi jumping around on a red and white checkerboard. Hence the sign here saying “where is he?” In reference to Luigi & multiplayer being gone in the final
Ngl it has been a journey watching this channel even if it was after you stopped making videos on this mod but Chris and everyone involved with making this is awesome. B3313 has been my first and probably only rom hack i have ever gotten and it just holds such a special place in my heart
dear Mike: i really like your style of commentary. you've inspired me to make similar laid-back gaming commentary videos. yours truly-- some random person who coincidentally has the same name as greenio (p.s. if you want ideas for what to do now that you're mostly done with b3313 content you could use the channel to upload gameplay commentary videos of games that you find cool and interesting)
Thanks for putting me onto the SM64 Classified series. I think normally people will play B3313, see those references, and think, "oh hey, that's from the videos!" - but watching them after playing B3313 gives me the opposite effect. Kinda funny how it worked out that way. Loved this series and thanks for all of the great videos!
this has to be one of, if not my absolute favourite gaming experiences in recent memory. I've wanted an internal plexus/iceberg hack since the mythos boomed in 2020, and B3313 absolutely delivered in strides. congrats to Chris and the team for putting this game out, and thank you for all of your work documenting and testing the game's many areas! these videos are honestly really relaxing to watch, and i find myself going back to them often :)
I think the star makes Mario's Maze *more* terrifying. The prospect of having a way out instead of just having to accept your fate, but you have to dodge all the deadly stanleys
Minor correction. Flesh Mountain is NOT an original creation. It, alongside many other areas (Sunny Balcony, Warped internal garden, Garden, and various other) is inspired by SM64: Warped Worlds, a cancelled rom hack about personalized worlds.
I really wanted to thank you a lot, both you Mike, and the creators/contributors of B3313 First, i want to thank you for the videos you have made. The first time i found your channel, i wasn't feeling well. I was looking for something B3313-related on UA-cam, and came across one of your videos. And i found it really interesting. It actually made me feel better that day. I think something that i really liked in your videos is the commentary. It makes the videos far more interesting to watch: you explain a lot of interesting stuff about the areas, like how do you get there, what is the inspiration/origin of the area, what is its importance in the lore of B3313, etc. So thanks again about that, it was a blast! I might rewatch them at some point. Sometimes i feel like that i wanted more, like "wait... the video is already finished??". I'm not telling you to continue making this (feel free to do it if you want but from what you've said, you're stopping), but i'm telling about how vast the game actually is, too vast to be entirely documented in your videos. Which in a way is good because it encourages us to visit those areas by ourselves. For the B3313 team, thanks a lot for this amazing rom hack. It feels gigantic, with a lot, A LOT of areas to explore, and for this fever-dream-like worlds. The hack almost seems to be infinite, and i still return to play it from time to time. The hack is really interesting, mysterious and i like its overall aspect. When playing it, it feels like i'm in some sort of dreams and/or memories that i and other people had, but can't remember. It also feels like some sort of realm of infinite possibilities, and this is what i find fascinating about it. Its like if, no matter how much I explore, there's still something i haven't seen (at least for now, haven't made too much progress on it). The things that i might not like about it are the difficulty of exploration (having to go through several areas sometimes only to come back because you died or fell in a trap). And i don't really like the horror aspect of it. But this doesn't stop me from playing and exploring B3313 Once again, thank you very much for this amazing journey, that i most likely wont forget. ❤
I hope you will cover some more games in a similar style. Maybe other sm64 romhacks or any romhack of any game that you wanna cover. I just hope that you will continue covering games/romhacks in-depth like this.
I've been loving listening to these while I've been playing the game through... currently at 270 stars, down sick irl so I've had all the time to just get feverishly immersed edit: putting 24 hours in 2 days makes your dreams really weird, more games need something like this
Fun fact: Flesh Mountain, as well as Sunny Balcony and His Domain are all references to Jefftastic's His Personalized Copy ROM hack. It often gets overlooked, but it is very much in the soul of these types of hacks!
Good question, but the answer is rather simple. I don't cover this game anymore. As a matter of fact, this channel is essentially in hibernation, until I find time to do something with it again.
I may be wrong but there was a video where you were showing random things this game does. There was one where you jump into the painting, died, and did fast travel and it magically killed you. It may be in this video though as I am only at 4 minutes. I do appreciate all the videos though!
That video had some stuff that shouldn't have been in there. There is a short coming out when I have time that will explain that phenomenon (It's really usefull in the 22+13 speedrun category).
Not that I know off. You could go inside Chris' discord server, as there is sometimes small talk about B3313 in there, and I also pop in there occasionally.
Yep, I checked it out. It's an original creation with music created by none other than WasteOfBlood. It's connected through a variety of areas, most notably 4B, Genesis Basement and Waterfall. Both Gluttonous Consequences and Genocidal Consequences got removed.
@@official_meelee2 By that definition the whole game is pointless. I don't remember talking to Chris about it, but I'm pretty sure i remember him saying that the areas were causing too much confusion, so he decided to remove them.

@@pip3169 Most likely not. 1.0.2 kind of retcons this series a bit (or the symbolism behind it), but it's not different enough that I'd return.
@@iitsMikeBTWOIt doesn't really do much besides noticeably simplify the game and make it much more linear.
@@Reaktron88 Oh yeah I know. I had fun testing the end warps with Chris. I remember the slide in floor 4B being especially funny.
