old Ampegs in general have a very rich sound when properly tuned up. if you find one for a good price, it'll probably need a re-cap and new tubes and biasing. after all that's done it will be an incredible sounding amp. they also distort nicely if you overdrive the preamp just a little with an equalizer and compressor. I love my Gemini 2 which I've had for almost 45 years.
