Herlock Sholmes is so damn funny. I am almost glad they didn't give CAPCOM the rights to the name, now we have such a funky character with such a funky name. I love him MORE than the original
Herlock shoes as a character was made before this. By a one Maurice Leblanc. Who also fell in trouble when he used sherlock in a story. So he made herlock and now herlock is in the public domain.

Plus the fact that it's also british english is a nice touch as he is learning english from and in britain. And plus the girl assistant actually has a japanese accent. This is one of the good and non-ethnocenristic dubs. And I mean, it's the english dub. Of course they're going to speak english. They still have to cater to the people who want pure english dubbing, and that is what english dubs or even just dubs are for. So if you're using this dub as proof of american adaptions being retarded in 2021 you're awfully wrong.
There is also the choice to have dual, in which it switches between the japanese and english dubs. So if that's what you want, there it is.
Also, the japanese version has everyone speaking in japanese even though it mostly takes place in Britain where they speak english, and they don't even make the accents sound british when they speak japanese as this english dub does for when a mainly japanese speaking character is being dubbed in english.
So if you're using this english dub as an example for ethnocentric adaptions you have a problem with ALL dubs from ALL languages.
Man, all I need is for those pre-orders to open, because I will be on that the second they do. I hope it's soon.

That’s pretty crazy. I’m used to Nintendo who hires Americans to do English accents (The Legend of Zelda: specifically the King and Narrator), and English to do American accents (Metroid: Samus).

We need more UK actors in anime styled games. Its always a nice refresher to see them in games like xenoblade, dragon quest, and now this one.

Why are you saying only dubs do that? The reason dubs do the weird anime high-pitch thing in the first place is because they're trying to sound like the Japanese voices of characters like these, who ALWAYS have the weird anime high pitch thing. And fans often pressure dubs to make the English voices sound as similar to the Japanese voices as possible.

I trust you know how long we’ve been waiting for this translation to come over here. The Ace Attorney series has often been cited by press and the company itself as one of Capcom’s best & beloved series, and yet you wouldn’t be able to tell by how atrocious the series was being treated. Digital only releases for the last two mainline entries on the 3DS, no collection on modern platforms of the second trilogy, Ace Attorney Investigations 2 never translated & ported to other territories, and until now, this highly anticipated spin-off set prevented from translation & porting for six years. Worst of all, lack of communication between fans and the company. The past two decades for being a fan of Capcom has been either really great, or absolutely terrible. Personally, I consider the absolutely terrible way Darkstalkers Resurrection was handled, both as a poorly conceived collection whose only redeeming feature was brilliant online netcode to your blaming of the fans for the failure to sell enough units to justify a long-awaited sequel when no proper marketing or support is to blame (no tournament support was given despite esports being the focus of the FG department at the time).
For the past 4 years, things have started to turn around. You’ve course corrected your flagship franchises and delivered some of the best entries ever. Your response to your fans seems to have improved, and you’ve definitely begun fulfilling some dream projects that seem to make you and your fans very happy. While there’s still quite a ways to go and so many forgotten franchises begging to be...”resurrected”, this right here feels like things are finally turning around. I won’t feel like the Capcom I know and love is back until we have much easier access to your older games, when we can receive comprehensive complete collections of your franchises and fan favorites are given another chance to find an audience that may not have been there to support them, but this...this is the right direction. Please don’t stop, never stop, never be satisfied with reaching the position of the best gaming company we want you to be. Thank you for this. Thank you for all your efforts. Yeah I personally am fairly new to the series I got the trilogy on ps4 about a year and a half ago and really enjoyed it. Then I went to see the other games and they are mostly on ds consoles. Which is a shame since I'm willing to spend the money for the games in a bundle like trilogy but I'm not as willing to go onto the 3ds store and buy each individually.
Kinda reminds me of monster hunter hunter. I started to play that in 2013 with monster hunter 3U. Literally got a 3ds just for it. I got every game that followed. When they put on ps4 I was excited since now a log of people are exposed to it.
That made world the game they sold the most of. So I thought they would make sure to release their next games not only on Nintendo hardware. Nope they have it only on switch. I love the series but I'm not willing to get a switch just for that one game. It's a shame since if it was on ps4 I'd pre-order it the second I could.
@@customizationhere1397 I got the series when I got a DS, blown away by the series and made sure to pick up each entry. When they started porting them to iOS/Android and later the non-portable consoles, I was like “why would I do this? I already own the games”. But that’s when I learned how Capcom demands you buy and rebuy what you already own if you want sequels. It’s one of the most terrible practices of the video game industry (and the home video industry to a lesser degree), and Capcom pretty much makes bank on it. Darkstalkers suffered from it, and for a time so did the Ace Attorney series. Hopefully sales for this will be strong enough to provide more ports and future sequels.

I really apreciate the fact that they took Maurice Leblanc's approach to Sherlock Holmes's name (for reference, "Arsene Lupin vs Herlock Sholmes"). I haven't finished the game yet, but I'm enjoying it like I remember enjoying the first four Ace Attorney games, I'm thrilled to keep advancing in the story. It's been a welcome surprise, I'll admit

According to the timeline from the leaks, depending on the sales for this and a certain other game in the coming future, they might do a sequel trilogy. I think they're a bit hesitant cause those games weren't as well received as others.
I come from the future where the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy is releasing in a few weeks (Being January 25th, 2024) bringing 4-6 onto modern platforms.

Btw, voice actors are fine in english but for some reason I prefer the original ones tho.

Hello, in the RE Village demo on PS5, I noticed that the Crosshair is not displayed when the Interface is off, although the Crosshair switch is On.
At the moment, the Сrosshair switch does not work quite correctly.
Could you make the Crosshair displayed even if the Interface is off, that would be great on the all platforms!

I do like the auto advancing story mode. I try my best to solve the cases but sometimes I'm just to stupid and instead of looking up a walkthrough I can just push a button and then turn it back off when it selects the right answer.

The copyright problems are unfortunate. I loved that in the original, every case was named after a Sherlock Holmes book. I feel like all of those references in between are going to be scrubbed from the game as well. It kinda takes away from the quirkiness of having Sherlock Holmes there.
That said, the dub looks great! And I'm excited to be able to play the sequel officially instead of having to wait like 5-10 years on a fan translation!

About time, even though I am not a big fan of the prequels this brings acknowledgement of the sequel of the main franchise is being made. I really want to see Apollo reunite with his mother and Franziska also making a return.

Well it’s about time! Now I just need Mother 3 and my collection of localized Japan-only entries of western franchises will finally be complete!
I fell in love with the Ace Attorney series when I gave in to buying the trilogy on switch. Ended up playing over 50 hours of that game. However, the games after the trilogy all seem kinda off to me? Maybe I would be more interested in a new game in the series, but I could look at reviews.
AJ was still good for me. But the cases in DD have a whacky feel to them and the twists feel more forced to me. I haven't finished playing SoJ so I can't comment on this one yet. But overall, there's a distinct difference for when the story and scenario were written by Takumi and when they weren't. When Takumi does it, the cases and storytelling are more cohesive. TGAA is Takumi at his very best.
This game is on pare with the trilogy. I personally enjoyed it even more than the first games. The writing is hilarious, the characters lovely and the story on point. Every case is connected to each other.
If you didnt bought it already then I can assure you, that you will enjoy it
