Don't listen to what Edgeworth said. The TGAA games are the only ones that are fully self-contained and you can go by by playing the Investigations games after the AJ collection but you should definitely play the original trilogy before the AJ trilogy. You'll be spoiling and confusing yourself otherwise.
It's sort of true since every game avoids spoilling the previous ones and even re-introduces old characters to new players that never touched a ace attorney game before (pretty much every first case is that like the forgotten turnabout). Altho It is not *recomended* to start skiping games like in Jojo Bizzare Adventure. You CAN watch any part you want but you will lose the ***context*** to multiple important scenes and yea, that may come as a spoiler for the other parts

Nahhh the running gag here is that we have absolutely zero context of these mass-produced B movies and that makes the characters who take great interest in them look like massive pseudo-intellectuals (I initially thought Edgeworth was the biggest punchline...) Im not against the conceptualization of the shows, however! It's good to enjoy silly ideas with great execution.

Totally agree. All games are fantastic so there is no reason to skip ahead. Part of what makes this series fun is its continuity and character growth. I absolutely would not recommend playing Investigations 2 before at the very least, Ace Attorney 1
I would also agree but trying to think from the perspective of a new fan, there are 10 different games in the series. It can be daunting to start at 1 and commit to get to 10. Definitely some games should come after others. Investigations after T&T, T&T after the first two, SoJ after AJAA. But for the most part, you can go between titles and understand practically everything going on. I’d say the only ones where this rlly isn’t the case are investigations 2 and GAA 2 but fuckn obviously you play those after the OGs lol

You really do need to start with the original trilogy though. The Apollo trilogy and Edgeworth collection are full of pre-existing characters and relationships that you won't appreciate at all otherwise.
I somewhat disagree, while playing the PW trilogy does GREATLY enhance the experience, it isn't entirely required to play and understand Investigations or the AJ trilogy. Both give just enough context to understand what's going on in their relevant titles without giving away the entire story of the PW trilogy. That being said, I would still HIGHLY recommend people start with the PW trilogy as that does enhance the story of later games significantly.

Like aside from the main playable characters, you’ve got people who span several of the games. Prime example being Ema Skye! Starting in AA1-5 as a teenager, she pops up in AAI 1 and 2 as a young adult, reappears as a detective in AJ, and gets her full forensic investigator designation in SoJ!

The problem is that they don't own professor layton, and the Studio that owned them got nearly bankrupted in covid.
