- This is a short video demonstrating the use of a gravely gang mower. It works best when you use a tractor with dual wheels and a steering sulky. It can be quite a workout when walking behind it and turning it.
We're missing the grass guards for the two gang mowers. - Навчання та стиль
Always a delight to see videos of these wonderful machines. I grew up around them, and bought a 1975 Commercial 12 with my Dad when I was 12 years old. 24 years later, the Gravely is still clearing my driveway and mowing my yard. It has never missed a beat.
Love these old mowers. Very powerful and strong machines. I just sold 6 gravely walk behind tractors last week with quite an assortment of attachments including 2 sickle bar mowers,3 rotory brush mowers, rotory plow, a rotor tiller, and 3 52" finish mower, ang two snow dozer blades. I think i more less gave them up for $700.00. I Had well over $3000.00 + in my investment. They did need some repairs as they sat around for a few years and wouldn't start, but they all ran when i parked them about 4-5 years ago. Thanks for sharing, brought back some good memories.
I know someone who would love to see this, he mowed a ball field for years and years with this set-up.
Thanks for posting, Roger,
There is nothing, and I mean absolutely NOTHING that mows as well as a properly adjusted and lapped reel mower!!!
Thanks for this video!
adjusted and lapped are key words here...
this explains so much thank you! I just picked up a reel mower and gangs missing some rollers but otherwise complete and working. Now I know how the gangs store on top!
Great running Gang 😂 great to see ....
This makes me want to finish my restoration of my gangs... I do not have the carrying cradle .... I have a broken adjustment bolt for the bed knife in the center reel...... Ouch ..... I had a machine at make all knew adjuster bolts but I still have one bolt I can. It get out ..... Yours looks great and that machine runs awesome...
Always a good idea to assemble it with the motor running
You're better off using the Gravely than the Husky. Kohlers inn the Huskys are blowing up right and left here. I had a steering sulky but swapped it for a rotary plow. Just needed some paint but mine has the steering brakes so I suppose I don't really need it. Good video and really good cut
got rid of my Gravley years ago and have regretted it ever since...
glad we could help!
Do all the gang reel setups have the quick connects for the gangs?
I've seen others that don't have the cradle on top and wanted to know if they also have these connectors.
Thanks
I'm looking into getting a dependable gravely for my small farm in wv .anyone have any good sources other than craigslist? Any swap meets I should be aware of to pick up the attachments I'm in need of? Love these machines!!!
Wow, looks like a heavy attachment! How much does it weigh?
My Dad taught me to turn machinery off when doing stuff like this...Just saying
