So far, we have been to Elmhurst, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, and West Chicago on the Union Pacific West Line. There was one spot that we wanted to try on the Union Pacific Geneva Subdivision. For this trip, we headed to Villa Park, Illinois. This spot was the next station stop heading westbound to Elburn, Illinois. When we arrived, it was clear that we were going to deal with an overcast day due to the early morning showers. The sun did pop out towards the afternoon for a brief time but the day continued on. The rail traffic started off quite slow and quiet for most of the morning. By lunch time, things got interesting since we also ended up catching our potential Highlight of the Day by then. As we were about to head out, there were a couple more freight trains that we stayed for so we ended up staying almost an extra hour than we originally planned. At the end of the day, it seems like our first trip to Villa Park station was almost identical to our first trip to Glen Ellyn. Nonetheless, it was another solid day along the rails and we’re pleased with what we caught. Coming up next, we return to the BNSF Racetrack in Brookfield in the coming days. Thank you! Some Metra trains were on the center track due to planned track work that occurred on the day we were filming.
Villa Park has the same crossing ding sounds as the one in West Chicago

Thank you! The Inbound Metra with F40PH 165 had technical difficulties when we were putting the video together so it ended up being cut.

There was planned track work on the Union Pacific while we were filming on that day which is why some of the Metra trains were on the middle track.
