- Coach Ryan Day and The Ohio State football team are all in on their quest to win a Big Ten championship and a college football national championship in 2024. The pieces are in place. This team is loaded on both sides of the ball. Day figured out the transfer portal and the school doubled down on Name, Image, and Likeness for its top players. And Ohio State keeps adding 4 and 5 star players to its top ranked class of 2025 recruits, making it even stronger than before!
ANY ROAD BLOCKS?
So what can get in this program's way of winning everything during this college football season? We think, while the Buckeyes chances at winning are strong, we are not sold on transfer quarterback Will Howard, or depth at offensive line. We will make our case here.
Plus they have to win at least one of two very important games if they want to reach their goals during the Big Ten football season. We will explain.

We mentioned earlier that the Buckeyes keep adding to their class of 2025 recruiting class. They added another 5 star linebacker from Texas and they are looking to flip another 4 star. We will tell you who.

…and then they go to Eugene. We are proud to host Ryan Day and his Ohio State Buckeyes in Autzen Stadium. All of you cry babies (OSU fans) remember to bring earplugs, and a good supply of tissue paper.
I LOVE the name 'Air' Nolan--maybe the coolest, most colorful name EVER for a college QB.
(As a long-suffering Rutgers supporter, I'm not a Buckeyes fan, but I hope he does well. Just imagine the headlines the sports news writers will create--a veritable bonanza for fans)
I agree. Cool name. How do you feel about Kaliakmanis at QB this year.
Statistically, there isn't much that separates him from his predecessor, except for the notion that he's a newbie 'on the banks'--that simple fact might give him (and the team) a bit of a jump start. Ciarrocca, his long-time buddy, is something of a QB whisperer, too.
Add to that the delightful fact that OSU/MIchigan/PSU are finally absent from the schedule, and I see an 8-win season.--an important step in the slow build.
Additionally, Schiano/Ciarrocca have moved mountains this off season to build a speedy, shifty, sticky-fingered receivers room.
So, they say in courtroom melodramas, "The jury is out." May the football gods shine down on SHI Stadium in 2024-5. Fingers crossed.

@LockedOnBIG10 at KSt the WR got open or created separation 14 percent of the time. Good for 132 in all of division 1 football. At osu they got open or created separation 25 percent of the time good for 32 in America. A big difference. Also Howard had to throw to win games. At OSU, he won't have to. And let's not talk about pocket presence and awareness or mobility. Another fun fact: 42 of 50 trips in the Red Zone resulted in a TD. That's 5% higher than any other team in the country (Will Howard TD efficiency numbers from last season at KST). He fits Chip scheme perfectly. Will Howard clears KMC.

McCord was a statue in the pocket. His arm was nice at times. He got stuck on Marv all year. Never went through progressions. Rattled very easily. Was never a leader.
Look at the KSU red zone scoring %. And he can pick up short yardage. This makes him better than McCord already.
The run game will open the passing game this year, instead of the other way around for most of Day's tenure.
Who are you a fan of? You are clearly anti-OSU. Which is understandable, considering the conference goes through OSU. (besides the stalions years for TCUN)

My comment is that the Buckeyes need to beat xichigan this year or ryan day needs to go coach somewhere else. I have never been impressed with him and always felt Fickel should have been given the job to start with. You are wrong. .xichigan is ALWAYS the biggest game on the schedule. This is from a 3rd generation grad with 7 degrees from Ohio State in my family.

Fickel was the coach, and lost 7 games in 2011.
Day is one of the best coaches in the country, and he has built a monster program.

Everyone talks about how great Michigan's defense is, and how bad Ohio States offensive line is so bad. Seems like the o-line did fine last year against them last year. It was a one score game in the Big House. They are a year older now and will be better this year.
