Garden room construction flat roof build

- We are fighting the constant rain now on this one. This time last year we all had sun tans!
We are using 5x2 c16 for the roof and fixing with 90mm Paslode nails and joist hangers fixed upside down with twist nails.
There is a 25mm for every 1mtr fall on the roof, which equates to 75mm over this 3mtr build. With this type of roof and no furrings used we can maximise the internal head height of the room and still keep under the 2.5 limit for permitted development.
Thanks for watching as always.
When can I buy a T shirt with " What we are gonna do" on it please? Top work !
Pmsl, it’s either, ok so... what we are going to do.... or, as you can see 🤦🏻♂️
I just finished yesterday's 2 minutes ago and then this pops up...excellent 🙂
For someone who has Zero DIY skills, these videos are fantastic, thank you for taking time and putting these videos out, its given me the confidence to try my hand at building my own, keep up the good work!
Love these videos. Wish I was working on them daily with you. They’re are 👌👌👌👌
Probably a silly question, so apologise in advance, Will the plasterboard / ceiling inside also have a 75mm incline or.do you do something to level it?. Thinking about the spots inside will be angled?
yes inside is mate, its literally a couple of degrees, you only notice if you paint a side wall a different colour or sit a level tv on a side wall, then your eye references off the level
What we gonna do.favourite words 😂😂😂😂.great videos though and cracking work
Looks solid that, great job again A Team
Your videos are pure class. I would love to work with you guys.
Where do you buy your rubber roof from?
Terrible😂 get a chippy in. your side over hang has no strength coz you put it to close trying to be clever, Never put joists in with a line. cut them straight with the line afterwards.
Cheers Liam, great information your giving, looking forward to your next one.
thank you so much for this video. it helps alot. i just ask one question. i build 4x6 square meters like this. when i push to much the wall i fell little movement. is it ok? thanks im from europe area.
Hi there, Great videos, Do you do the walls on 400 spacing as well for the insulation?
What did you do to Adam??? Did he pull a sickie??great vid Liam and Jennie Once again!!!!
Poor guy drove to Essex and back to drop off timber, he’s doing it again tomorrow 😬
Liam just wondering if you are buying the EPDM rubber local and also I like the idea of saving on Insulation but could you explain how the plaster boards will then be fitted to accommodate this as usual fantastic videos.
C24s better for that roof
Aye, good luck with sourcing that these days!
@@Jim_Newlands not too difficult from a builders merchants ! I ordered c16 and they gave me c24 cuz it’s all they had 😁
Do you still space the roof joists to 400mm centres when you double up the joists over a larger span roof?
Great video and banter as always but what happened to the game changer kingsman roofing system ? Was looking forward to that installation video
I can’t say atm 🤨
😭

Thank you so much for these videos!! Quick question, is it always 75mm difference or does it depend on the width of the building?
Cheers
Jenni wrong side of camara today 😆 . Love these videos and always completed to a very high standerd .
Great video again. Why don't you use firring strips for the roof?
Hi what timber do you use for the framing ? Thanks 👍
4x2 cls, 5x2 c16 on front walls
Liam, for a 3.5m roof, will I have to double joists @400mm spacing. Do you think I can get away with every other joist doubled?
Double them all I’m afraid
Great job
Yes Liam! Bang at it again with these uploads 👍👍 hope you're keeping well mate
Are you planning on taking work in the south Liam ?
very nicely done Sir!
Built to last!
Tell us, What you gunna do 😀
Right, so what are we gonna do?
Can I ask you about birds mouth on joists
I like the way you set out the roof but some are doing it with birds mouth
The pitch isn’t enough to warrant a birds mouth mate
@@thegardenroomguru thanks for your input that's what I think as well
“What we gonna do”
Saludos from Chile! !
We used 6"x2" this week doubled up for snow. Office room.
Is the global timber shortage affecting you yet?
Not as of yet mate, no Egger protect though
Is the great building materials shortage starting to kick in with your business yet, mate?
Tiny bit atm, it’s the materials costs going up that’s scary
Just a quick question. Ideally I would prefer to have the A Team, not only for the best (of course) but also to hear the banter on site lol, however any plans to cover Shropshire or a team that would cover this area?
Love watching you videos lads,
I’m knocking down a single block concrete shed out the rear of my own house, I’m by no means a precise joiner although we do a lot of fencing etc, definitely some things to be learnt watching your videos, great content
Thanks Liam, great video as usual; one question - do you cut your noggins on the sides the same 80mm overhang as the back or do you add another 25mm for the extra batten? Put another way, does your soffit start from the outside of the wall or from the outside of the battens? Cheers
Outside of the wall mate
