That’s what I just bought. I know this was 3 years ago but any insight/warnings/tips? Got it for $1000 seemed like a good deal for a project. Has a coolant leak but just ordered a new water pump. Should fix it from what I’m looking at. Mostly cosmetic problems that I’m aware of.
@@baylorgray1983 It was a pretty easy job. Just make sure the tension is correct on the belt. Mine was not tight and came off. Other than that, no more red lining and been good for 3 yrs.
Next time, get under the car and there’s a small hose, about 3/4” diameter, coming out from under the drivers side corner of the radiator. This hose runs from bottom of radiator to top of transmission cooler so it’s about 10” long. Grab that hose where it enters the radiator and turn it quarter of a turn and it pops out of the radiator thus draining the radiator. No tools required. That’s the best way to drain the radiator on the 1999 to 2001 E38’s. Or should I say, less messy way to drain it.
I had a mostly keed free Thanksgiving. I went to Pick n Pull early in the morning. Holy crap, I have enough bad driving footage in one 15 minute trip for a whole video. After that, the rest of the day was pretty tame. I got the SS washed and waxed, a full tank of fuel with some Stabil added, and she's put up for the winter. Gonna do the same treatment to the Vette on Saturday. Wash and wax, full tank of fresh fuel treated with Stabil and parked at the parents house all winter in Crystal City (far away from the fellas). I'll probably install the snow tires on the Crown Vic next weekend, and all automotive stuff will be done for the winter. Then I can finally enjoy my day's off sitting inside and playing video games all winter. It should be a fun and relaxing winter...I hope.

It was supposed to go much more smoothly than that. Who'd have thought a "quick-disconnect" hose would be impossible to disconnect? Not this guy. I figured I'd show the struggle is real.
Yo Hollywood, Don’t you remember when you asked me to make that tutorial video how I mounted my camera underneath my car to record my control arm squeak? If I remember correct, I also went over how to reduce wind noise with a homemade Deadcat (mic wind noise muffler) for less than a $1. The one I made works for wind up to 25mph. 9:21 Hang on to that Trump sign, he may run again in 2024. Oh yeah, it looks like sub 600 was a fickle son of a gun =( Back down to 599. -Chuck

Owners manual has the capacity listed in it. Also the amount of coolant drained is the same amount to put back in, assuming the coolant was filled to capacity prior to draining.
Dude you crack me up! You sound like me when working on my '01 740il

How do you know how much coolant to put? Didn't you overfil it ?
Owners manual has the capacity listed in it.
