Agree, the odd Crown sedans a miss. I never quite saw it as the "flagship" replacement for the Avalon that 'everyone' said it was. My prediction, this will outsell it by a good margin and should be the Crown standard bearer, with some adjustments for better/more expansive equipment, trim options - missing HUD (avail. on Venza), rear sunscreens, regular opening roof (even if at expense of rear fixed glass), reclining rear seats, more interior choices such as a light gray interior ("ash" in trad. Toyota-speak), CVT refinement, powertrain choice, spare tire if just a skinny donut, another color option or two, etc, can even see an off (back) road "lite" variant like everyone's doing - half inch more ground clearance and some modestly adventuring tires, etc.. Kirk may rightly say doing all or most of the above might threaten Lexus...if so, so be it - get Lexus to up its NX and RX game, both in need of major refreshes if not thorough overhaul. It's particularly glaring when what the company is doing is clearly holding back on features to not threaten another division, rather than just give its best product all around.
They removed so much from Venza, auto rain sensor, electric steering control, electric frost pano roof and Signia is less ground clearance, less fuel efficiency, heavier and slower than Venza 0-60. Toyota added safety sensor like one in Lexus face recognition sensor which most of people turn off and not using due to unnecessary annoying beep when computer see that you are not paying attention on the driving… is that why you increase 12k??? New look, real leather seat? Seriously?

What built in failures did they design on this one? Toyota is making junk right now.
Made it Japan Toyotas are the way to go. After my bad Highlander experience, I only want made in Japan Toyotas now. Not that I have anything against Americans but can you really expect them to make good cars if they already screwed up the big 3? American built Toyotas suffer bad build quality. Unless these plants employ only Japanese people, I don’t really expect much from anything coming out of USA.
The front end is ugly
Luxury cars gives you as options, HUD, ventilated seats rear, adjustable suspension, different Leather options, different wheel options and engine options and most important NO CVT. Has this, your words, ´´Luxury Car`` these things???
Name me any 43k “luxury” cars that give you ventilated rear seats, adjustable suspension, a HUD, and different leather options… it’s clearly not a luxury car and it’s not trying to be, it’s a premium car.
@@parkergray5346 yep thats the point, you can´t buy a Luxury car for that price and thats make all this stupid titles from the youtuber experts where say that this is a Luxury Car to null and void.
@@alengreen589 Spot on yeah it’s not a Lexus folks
Way overpriced and will sit on lots for months…
Probably not.
@@naveenthemachinetroll keeps trolling.
Might be a better buy on the used market..
It’s almost as expensive as rav4 prime lol
@@naveenthemachine yup, will probably be about $55k to $57k
I don’t get why people are saying it looks like a wagon. It’s a taller, Toyota Camry basically. It’s a crossover I like the way it looks. I can’t stand Wag and I don’t like the way any wagon looks.
Most crossovers are just bubbly wagons. 😂
It reminds me alot of the new "Blazer"
Lets wait to see how good the engine is. In 4 years.
It's a Toyota hybrid....
Do the videos yourself Kirk. I'm not needing to be entertained by some random "sidekick" and some "Florida Action'. Tuned out immediately
Lost all respect for the reviewer when he called this Toyota a " drivers car" ...
Looks cheap, new front design 😮😮😮. Interior, cheap plastics, dull design. I'm a big Toyota fan, but for a few thousand more you have a far better finished Lexus Nx or Rx.
Nothing about this vehicle looks cheap. A Lexus Nx is inferior in package to this vehicle. An Rx is a different class.
@@sammydavis991 that's nonsense. Look at the pictures and video's, nice car maybe but no Lexus, not by far.....imo ofcourse.
@@avdp9095this is a preproduction vehicle, so the materials are not what the production model will look like.
L take
@welcometoboredom the interior is identical to the current Crown sedan. It's nothing to write home about. Nicer than a a Corolla, about the same as a Camry. Definitely cheaper than the current Venza which was sold as the Japanese Harrier.
I don't see how they are pricing this near 50k
should have kept the venza,
more money for a wagon not impressed
Way overpriced wagon. This should be a 40,000-45,000 Wagon
Maybe Mitsubishi has something for you.
Idk. I want to like the Signia so bad. Externally it’s an incredible design, but I feel like value-wise the crown cars are kind of a flop and not even worth the price compared to a Lexus. The lack of features on the XLE makes it almost worthless imo.
New crown cars value is more than fine and obviously it's going to have less luxury or features than a Lexus. Still crown sedan and wagon/SUV will sell more than fine.
Love Toyota, love hybrids but that fricken cvt drone! 🤮🤮🤮
OMG CVT drestroyed it for me
eCVT hybrids are bulletproof. Sadly this setup is louder than it should be.
Is it FAST??? I want to be able to PASS people- and 2.4 l in a big-ass SUV scares me.
You will have a 4banger and you will be happy!!😈
As strange as it might sound, I'd take this over the RX just because of the badge. I don't like the attention or preconceived notions that come with driving a luxury car. This gives me stealth wealth vibes.
All that and you still don't get the hybrid max but you get it on the regular crown. Makes a lot of sense Toyota
That red kinda looks like that Mazda red i really love. Can't remember the name of it. Edit. Soul red crystal 😊. Also i think they coulda find a way to open that moon roof.
I have yet to watch your review here and I’m about to do so Kirk but kind of disappointing that this has the previous generation hybrid system in it. When I think of an XLe Camry loaded with all options with GEN five system at 10 grand less leaves me scratching my head
@16:35 😊
2025 Camry is the best
@@KirkKreifels Great review here Kirk always informative. I guess as vehicles are redesigning to put the GEN five system in them although they installed it refresh in the Corolla so who knows. Looks like they got their work cut out for them to make the new ES even more refined with this system
I didn’t know it had previous gen system in it. That does sound kinda disappointing but hey, at least the fuel efficiency is in par with Toyota crown signia and just a bit higher than Highlander so that’s something. I think it can be possible to get 44 mpg on this suv on city as long as you’re an efficient driver.
@@blackgold754 The fifth GEN system is smoother transitions between engine and hybrid it also has less droning noise to it and a bit more fuel efficient but each generation should be better right?
would the 19" wheels make it less "bumpy and vibey?"
Was waiting for you to drop this review
