Maybe people kept picture of young heroine in the novel version as it starts with the heroine married at age 15 and the groom left the bride to attend the war for 3 years. I have no idea how long (years) does the story portrays after they reunited at age 18 of heroine, until the end of the story.
The hug between the 2 leads is poignant and comforting. The light-colored, soft and flowy costumes are more complimentary on the FL than the stiff, dark-colored and bold-designed costumes. There are instances/shots/scenes that ML is sooo handsome!
I'm so hooked, this drama is everything about damn time there's a drama that doesn't has a male and female lead that looks like they just hit puberty lol.

TBH.. this is actually the more realistic portrayal according to the setting. No matter how pampered a lady is at home... a woman raised in a big household, from a legitimate linieage (not concubine born), would always be educated well to be virtuous. It is actually not realistic to see a noble lady to be so bitchy towards her own husband, no matter what feeling she has for him. She might be overbearing towards the maids or other girls in the household with lower status, but by no means towards her own husband. Being respectful and detached is what she can do at the very least.
The BEST part of this series- how tender lord is to princess to make her realize the situation -both of them got played by people princess thought.loved her- I couldn't help myself to be teary-eyed- my umpteenth viewing luv luv will never get tired seeing rebel princess again and again THANKS A LOT
The main actors are so good that now I‘m back to craving a sequel to Tribes and Empires. Shuo heng fe ye will always be one of my favorite characters in C drama. His story was very interesting and his captivating chemistry with the Princess general!

拍的挺好的啊，除了刚开始几集感觉演员的年龄和相貌跟剧情本身有些违和，现在已经渐入佳境了。感觉整个剧本和原著差别不大，基本还原了，演员的演技也拿捏到位。从这集开始大女主彰显本色，哈哈，宅斗宫斗开始，有权力又聪明的女人治起贱人来很霸气。周一围的相貌也不像一开始那样觉得难看了，因为他把男主的风范演的刚刚好，所以蛮喜欢的。这剧值得追！
