[Plot Introduction/ synopsis]
The play tells the story of the princess Wang Xuan (played by Zhang Ziyi) who has a first love, the third prince Zitan (played by Tony Yang). Wang Xuan was involved in the court battle because of the prophecy of "getting her, getting the world." She became her father's chess piece and married Lord Yuzhang, Xiao Qi (played by Zhou Yiwei), from a humble background. Soon, Prince Helan (played by Yuan Hong) kidnapped Wang Xuan to seek revenge on Xiao Qi. The couple fell in love with each other because of a blessing in disguise. In the end, the couple joined hands to create a new era and guard their homeland's people.

I can occasionally watch the silly kdramaa where the silly average girl totally swoons over the much handsome prince who either misunderstands or in denial that he is really in love with her. The theme is getting so old to watch. OR you can watch a really rich & in-depth drama with excellent actors. Their expressions & emotions are so strong that you understand what they are feeling even they are NOT speaking! Love it! Love it! Great leads in this drama! Finally!

We can also add how casting directors/directors dress up teen idols in historical “costumes,” in some cases the male lead actually looks “prettier”than the female lead, hand them a script written on an adolescent/teen level in which the two leads do nothing but argue for, seemingly, at least 75% of the series. GEEZ!!!
The Rebel Princess, IMHO, is the drama that sets the standard for ALL present, future C-Dramas. It’s the absolutely the BEST C-Drama that I’ve watched that finally casts seasoned actors, with an incredible script that allows for the development/maturation of the characters that follows an awesome plot that kept many of us excitedly awaiting for each episode to air. Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace was very well cast, great character development - however, I started watching extended clips after episode 50 because each episode became more miserable than the one before and the level of infanticide, evil scheming & calculations was just too much for me to enjoy. The actors, however, were tremendous!! Everyone has their preferences and that’s cool. For me, I just keep rewatching The Rebel Princess and still look forward to scenes I’ve watched many, many times. Have you watched Novoland:Pearl Eclipse ? 上藥這一場戲，是兩人第一次這麼近的接觸。兩個演員演的都很好看。王儇傲氣與倔強，大王的情感內斂含蓄有柔情絲許。

他克制自己的情感而不想造成她的壓力。他表達了自己 ，而王儇可以不直接去面對他。

兩人感情戲，細膩柔美。一點一滴累積。光擦藥，都看得出兩人的內心故事。

I really don't care about what others said about thier looks acting young. So what???? That's is why they are actors. They can portray young and old character. Their looks suits well. The female lead star expressed her looks innocent and the male lead star expressed her looks handsome and manly enough as a husband and general in command. Awesome still for me. I am craving for more episodes.

My first time commenting on dramas but this is the first drama that’s very interesting, got me hooked, great acting, and quite honestly I’ve been wanting to see people my age in these dramas. I love the casting!!! And, yes, it does seem like a movie, the episodes-that’s crazy. Now I have to wait for the next episode, the only bummer thing.

The director really know how to capture a thrilling and intense scene. The actor can just ride the horse it’s more faster to catch the princess but he has to run that’s more captivating . Btw he has to save the princess no matter what it cost after all he is to be blamed for what happened to the princess. Leaving the princess , believing counsellor wen was the greatest mistake he made.
