  • This is a recipe that I come back to time & time again as it's just so good! This blueberry crumble with an oat topping for extra crunch is mouth-wateringly good and will take you little effort in the kitchen so it's a win all round!
    Ingredients:
    For the crumble:
    150g plain flour
    150g jumbo oat flakes
    175g Sugar
200g cold butter, cut into pieces
    Lemon Zest
    Single Cream, to serve
    For the filling:
    600g Blueberries
    2 tbsp plain flour
    60g sugar
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    Lemon Zest

The one thing i hate from this channel is everytime i watch your video you made my mouth watery. All of the food you made seems really delicious tho.

The butter has such a gorgeous yellow colour! Recently made crumble with strawberries, delicious and easy and very tactile. It brings the fruit to another level. Yum!

When you prepare the topping using both your hands, it shows you were well fed by your mom or dad or with a lot of love around the dinning table, not just another chef by accident or chance.
    Admire your style Donal.
    Thank you for this delight.

Love this recipe.. made it with blueberries, a mix of berries and pineapple… one addition I make is adding desiccated coconut to the crumble topping.. gives a really nice nutty and fresh taste..

Today was my (69th) birthday and I'm not much of a cake person. So I made your blueberry crisp crumble and it turned out fantastic! I used Splenda rather than sugar, as my husband is diabetic, but it didn't affect the outcome one bit. Thanks for the recipe!

Great vid as usual and the end product looks great! I got a great tip from an Irish baker, no less, that really works. Use butter from out of the freezer rather than the fridge, it's colder and lets you get a better crumble. Agree with the topping, in New England it's traditional to use oats as toping either just mixed with butter and corn starch or with the flour. Baking does work best with exact measurements but I think most Americans don't know what a punnet is unless they have Irish or British ancestry. I will be making this hopfully for the 4th of July when the first blueberries are ready here.

I just made my own crisp for the first time. I grated some Lemon peel and some lemon juice, sugar about 1.5 pounds mixed of raspberries strawberries blackberries, with real vanilla extract from Mexico about 2-3 tablespoons and omg, wow! It tasted like knots berry farms berries, forgot the name of their famous pie or jam but it was like fruit punch and that jam flavor. I put enough sugar to taste when I missed the berries in a bowl. Just find a recipe u like but wow, 350 degrees 50-60 minutes in oven or till crust is lightly brown. It’s simply amazing and goes great with vanilla ice cream
