Here are the ingredients for the filling in case anyone needs a quick glance! 4 Cups fresh blueberries 1 Cup sugar 1 Grated apple T lemon zest 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 2 1/2 T cornstarch
BEST BLUEBERRY PIE EVER!! We made this pie today and it was amazing. Just make sure to let the blueberry mixture cool to room temperature or it won't come out as good. 10/10 stars
I use frozen blueberries all the time, especially when making pies out of season. I have quite a few blueberry bushes so I can't eat them all and the surplus goes in the freezer for pies or preserves. Frozen blueberries work out great if you defrost them properly and make sure they haven't been sitting in a freezer over 6-8 months.
All of your recipes (dictated amazingly within a very short time) always turn out exactly as you say when I bake from them. I just watch your videos and do what you say. I am very grateful that you share all of your secrets, and also all of the reasons for certain ingredients and the way these desserts should be baked. Your live videos are also very helpful and I look forward to more of those. :) Thank you! Happy new year to you and your family. Stay safe and bake some more.
Thank you so much for sharing the recipe for blueberry pie i love blueberries and when younger had a friend who could make it thank you so much for sharing the video
Happy Thanksgiving Miss Anna! I really am very Thankful for you, I love cooking and need help making my creations perfect. Whenever I create something and need help, I come hunting you! God bless you dear, I hope your Christmas is perfect, and 2021 all you want it to be. Your Grandma Fan, Rebecca
Yum!😋 Ty for showing how to lattice the crust. I made a banana cream pie last week. My son requested a blueberry pie for next time (one of his faves). I will certainly try this! It's too bad I have to use fresh berries, as I have a lrg bag of frozen blueberries in the freezer.😕
She almost never reads the comments so you have to rely on people like us to help you out I am going to make mine with lard. And then compare to using butter and I don’t like Crisco either but sometimes they have their place
We don't have fresh blueberries in the Philippines only the frozen and the canned ones that are used for blueberry cheesecake. Is it okay to use the canned ones?
Help me out here: Tried this recipe, followed it exactly. However when I was about to roll out my dough, it was so crumbly. So it was so hard to roll out. I followed the instruction in the written recipe to take it out of the fridge 15-30 mins before rolling. What could possibly be wrong?
two things come to my mind. First, it could be that the dough needs a couple more minutes to warm up just slightly. The butter will get a touch more pliable and the dough will be less likely to crack. Don't let the dough sit out too long though or it'll become a real pain to roll out. If that happens, put it back in the fridge to chill out for about 10 minutes. Second, (and this isn't very likely) it could be the flour is not hydrated enough. Rather than add water to the dough, add vodka. The booze will keep the dough tender (gluten doesn't form when flour is hydrated with alcohol).
@@zimmejoc thank you for the tips. When I was rolling my dough I put the other half back in the fridge because I was thinking maybe I put it out too long. When I rolled that one out it was too hard so I let it sit for a while until I can roll it out. The texture is the same as the other one. When it baked it tasted biscuit-y. I will try again, hopefully it comes out better. Thanks!
Some of these people will put it in the description box but I don’t see a link to her recipe so you’re going to have to either pause the video or use the transcript button
It’s simply untrue that you need to precook blueberries because if you don’t the pie will be a watery mess. And she knows that. I watch a lot of these videos because there are so many that claim to be the best. That fascinates me because I’m convinced the claims are sincere. Nobody posts a video, titled “A So-So Blueberry Pie.” Obviously there can be only one best Blueberry pie. And one best of each thing, such that most of these posts are wrong. So I read and watch them. And I try some. Here is the truth about fruit pies. It’s hard to make a bad one. But it’s also hard to make a perfect one. For one thing you cannot taste test a fruit pie until the next morning after it’s worked it’s magic in the refrigerator a whole night. That’s when it’s hard for the bottom crust to still be crisp and when the sweet and the sour have totally merged. And when the taste is the essence of blueberry-ness or peach-ness or whatever-ness.
Yes a few other videos that I have been watching tonight do not cook their blueberries ahead of time and also I don’t understand why she didn’t blind bake the crust
Probably because they are the best for having antioxidants It all depends on where you grew up. My favorite fruits are raspberries followed by kiwi then blueberries

What is your secret for defrosting the blueberries? My neighbor gave me probably 8 cups of blueberries and I can only eat so many in a pie

This is so satisfying.
Don't you wish that every time you have just made a pie, you got prepared another one that's already chilled? 😄

Best crust and blueberry pie🥰

Need to buy that cutter ASAP 😉
very nice 👌
Is it OK to freeze the pie filling in pie plate lined with foil?
I forgot to ask, do u prefer using butter for pie crust or lard? My mom always uses lard (Tenderflake). I don't care for Crisco.
She almost never reads the comments so you have to rely on people like us to help you out

Yes😄
Oh Anna youre so good in baking. I Wish I could meet you. Do you have a recipe book?
+Rainbow Yumyum I guess you don't read the video descriptions?
+Oh Yum with Anna Olson I didn't. But now I see thanks 😊 Can you pls do a collaboration with other youtubers?
Rainbow Yumyum No, she isn't a youtuber. This is a cooking show
Gee that was quite rude she was just asking a question. Not everybody knows about the description box and where to find it@@ohyum
Can I use your recipe for a fresh cherry 🍒 pie??
Yum Anna!
Can I use blackberries for this recipe?
I am wondering, would I be able to do the exact same recipe with blackberries instead?
How did BlackBerry turn out? I was curious if the berries held their shape after cooking?
This is so beautiful.🥰
I can’t find the recipe?
Can I use same recepi with cranberries?
What kind of apple?
Remarkable
No cold pie, warm
Blue berries… interesting.
Make it with cherries and its a Dutch classic :)
I tried that with strawberries and it came out the oven like a rock 😂
Thanks Anna💟
Anna dear you are good 😘😘
yummy

@@patsutsay if you have room in your refrigerator, roll out your dough to the desired shape before putting it into the refrigerator
can i replace the blueberries by plum raisins?
I tried making this. It was good. But 1 cup sugar was just too much. Maybe half or even a third would've been perfect.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💐
Where's the recipe for the pie crust?
Some of these people will put it in the description box but I don’t see a link to her recipe so you’re going to have to either pause the video or use the transcript button
Y’all why was my crust really hard to work with? It was really flaky and hard to roll out
Hi I'm from india n I love ur all recipe but I don't eat egg so can u show eggless chocolate cookies
I didn't find the recipe.
It doesn’t look like she took the time to post it so you’ll have to playback the video or follow the transcript

Are you Canadian? I ask, because you say "out" with a twang.
Why doesn’t she blind bake her pie crust? Talk about having a soggy bottom. That’s what they always talk about on the great British baking show
Why is she using a plastic sheet to cover hot blueberries? Melted plastic in the filling can't be healthy.
You're beautiful!
Delicious. But blueberries are my least favorite filling. I wonder why Americans are so addicted to blueberries?
Probably because they are the best for having antioxidants
It all depends on where you grew up. My favorite fruits are raspberries followed by kiwi then blueberries
you are my goddess.
Why are you still using imperial measurements 🙄
What kind of apple?
