Just got home after being caught in a downpour. I'm all dry and cozied up, with a nice snack lunch, and just about to dig into this amazing full-hour video. Your voice, and the Pikmin series as whole, is ripe for this ultimate-cozy experience. Thanks for doing what you do, Scruffy. :D
before the episode he was out of raw material he spent half a day ignoring a pile of raw material just right next to the base. It's cool to see how much he's distracted by all elements in the game i guess lol
A musician playing games is fun to watch, seeing them get giddy over the musical mechanics. I’d love to see professional game devs to play games, too, and watch them get excited over unique game mechanics.
The fucking drawing of moss on the thumbnail made me laugh oh my god If scruffy ever actually makes a piklopedia episode where he just reads every log I would listen to that like it were an audiobook.
I KNEW the reupload of the miniboss music I've been listening to was different than in-game, even the minibosses have their own instruments, seemingly a kalimba in the Porquillion's case. That's so cool!! ...if not a bit inconvenient when it comes to listening to the ost online, lol.
An interesting tidbit I learned from watching you and somebody else: you found the yellow onion at the sun-speckled terrace, and they found it at the blossoming arcadia! I was already surprised that the game had both yellow and blue onions in the first area, but you can get them in multiple places too!
When you’re cleaning up the rest of any area, don’t forget Oatchi can sniff things out for you :) also, in case you’re curious, this is where the demo’s content would have ended if you played it
Some tips for later in the game, I recommend you always ride oatchi because it’s a little faster plus you pikmin can get thrown a little higher. Use oachis treasure finding ability because they’re are treasures you may not find so easily
your study of the sound design is so on brand but is so interesting and makes your lp stand otu so much from the few others i'm watching. it's also making me appreciate this otherwise underwhelming soundtrack, and makes me so excited for when you get to a certain area of the game. i can't wait for yoru fully diagnosis video on this game's sound design. Dandori Battles and Challenges will be much easier if yous tart treating oatchi as his own captain, rahter then just some mega pikmin. trust me, it gets real real hard if you don't start splitting up from your dog. though when you are together, you may as well ride oatchi most of the time, as oatchi moves faster than you good on you for realizing it was a crushign enemy. i did not. i lost my first pikmin to that cylindrical stone.
i really do wonder what happened there, but it sounds like they were leaning closer and rolled the volume nob on the mic down? either that or they stopped talking and the audio mixing made it transition oddly.
Thanks for another banger of a video Scruffy I really have enjoyed watching you play this game pointing out things I would have never noticed when I was playing, also about the blue bulb I have a hypothetical way to get the blue bulb without 50 pikmin. If you freeze the water get 10 pikmin over there then take 10 of the ice pikmin that are freezing the lake and run across it as quickly as possible in order to get them climbing before the water unfreeze so they can pick up the bulb and hopefully they take it onto the air coming out of the ground and it flings them and the pikmin over the water

The reason you might want to unequip gear is to challenge yourself Personally, I was really afraid of this game being too easy, so I opted out of buying many gear options for as long as possible because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to unequip them Of course once I found out I could, I bought all of them just for 100%'s sake I wish Oatchi's skills were also able to be unequipped because some of them made fights quite trivial...
Something that I'm really loving about the caves is that the entrances and exits look like the irrigation systems I work with! It's really neat, especially because the exits seem to work the same way some sprinkler heads do!! Air/water pushes them open and allows for flow to occur iirc! Even if it's more fanciful than real life irrigation I still appreciate seeing those details.
