@@GoblinSquid They were referring to the hat's phrase being customized for the game, it's a bit hard to see but it says MIN WANT ME FISH FEAR ME I dunno if the fish on it is from Pikmin, never played the games
"Quick" little fun facts and tips: -The Armored Mawdad will only be capped when it's trying to climb a wall, so if you're REALLY quick (and have a stradegy), it can still be one cycled (also, it survives with one health, so you can make some funny clips with a single punch or rock toss). -The Vehemoth Phosbat is killable without the lights as you'd guess, but this is more apparent in normal mode, it has so little health you could kill it without the big bulb and it's optimal. -The Sandbelching Meerslug can still be attacked normaly while inhaling. You can even knock it back to the surface, and it won't have time to kill any Pikmin if you have enough fire power (in ultra-spicey it's a bit hard with the Pikmin cap, but a full red or rock squad can do it). -Scornet Mystro's cap is increased from halves to quarters in harder difficulties, so good luck with that. -The Quagled Mireclops may not have a damage cap, but it's feet do during certain attacks and animations. Also, I may be wrong, but I believe when first knocked down, it won't get back up until the crystal's broken. And I've got nothing for the Plasm Wraith, thanks for letting me waste your time.
I genuinely tried to think back on every Scruffy video I've seen, trying to remember the ratings system. I was got good, Magenta star-tesselation for humor
Thinking about other bosses in the series, I'd also like to propose that the Titan Dweevil falls under the Grey Chevron Tier- You are unable to damage it until you strip it of all its weapons, but the weapons themselves are never hindered from being attacked. So, I think a Grey- maaaybe Light-Grey Chevron Tier is fitting for the Titan Dweevil
yeah, it's hard to look past the nostalgia i have for Pikmin 2 and the appeal of the sheer gravitas of the fight itself, but thinking about the pure gameplay perspective, Light-Grey Chevron feels totally fair. sorry Louie.
The mawdad doesn't actually have a cap, rather the boss can only be defeated when he isn't on the wall. For a quick battle, there are ways to manipulate his movement pattern to ensure he stays on the ground when his health is at zero, but its very difficult.
wow lawsuits is actually one of the best solutions ive heard to this issue! they really need a lengthy fleshed out court system in pikmin 4! (also i love the silly hats mod that you have, its amazing)
Everything in this video was wonderful. The modded hats, the proposed solution of the armored mawdad pursuing legal action against the player, and that absolutely beautiful rendition of “what I love” at the end. It’s a masterpiece.
You bring up the Scornet Maestro capping itself at half its HP. BUT if you don't know or don't remember, in the original Pikmin 3 on the Wii U, it capped itself during each quarter of health! They only changed it to half health in Deluxe.
This is one of the best types of April Fools video. It sticks to it's title and thumbnail, it doesn't deceive the viewers, but it also makes very silly nonsensical remarks throughout the video between the actual content.
Personally, I feel like the Vehemoth Phosbat deserves more of an... Aquamarine Heptagram tier. The overall atmosphere of its fight keeps you engaged enough so you don't notice the health cap!
I saw the pentagon coming, but I was surprised to see the blue quatrefoil. Figured it deserved a teal trefoil at least, but I can see where the frustration comes from in the heat of the moment
I had never played Pikmin 3 so legit thought those "caps" were actually on the bosses considering you are on earth and a huge amount of human items can be found, i thought they were using it as armour lmao.
This may just be your best video. Its an ACTUAL video discussing an ACTUAL mechanic, but with a flair of whimsy and extremely subtle humor that doesn't even get acknowledge outside of the "its april 1st" at the start and the "what" at the very end.
look i may be drafting a Pikmin video essay talking about how much i love the series, but someone had to talk about this, and i'm glad Scruffy had me covered. it's honestly such a frustrating part of an otherwise incredible experience.
A timely video, it was only this morning I completed my Pikmin 3 save by Platinumming all of the boss fights, having already done the other missions, and I was wondering about the boss caps.
I love how this video was both a genuine critique while also having stupid jokes everywhere. I don’t know why, but the quaggled mireclops with a cowboy hat made me bust a gut laughing.
Mawdad legal suite requires a sub game where you gather legal documents and witnesses in 3 days for your defense case against his claims of "Wrongful damages and emotional trauma" case
i see where you're coming from with putting the vehemoth phosbat in gray cheveron tier, but i'd argue it deserves at least turquoise semicircle tier for its originality. it does well showcasing the uses for yellow pikmin and i personally found it very enjoyable! i definitely agree with your other ratings though. great video!
Dang, no better than an orange cardioid, truly a sad state of affairs. But honestly, excellent presentation, very concise, nice hats, I think this video earns a green heptagram tbh
Also, the music choice is absolutely immaculate, but very sneaky. Makes me feel like a rat. Like I could snitch, perhaps on a superstar, allowing me to get a lot of money and drive fancy cars.
Even after all the silly jokes in the video, nothing made me laugh more than the "What I Love" jingle at the end being so abruptly cut-off! Pretty much every video of yours, I hum along with it as the video ends.
This is a great video! First off, I definitely agree that the Scornet Maestro is an absolute menace with its damage caps and they are incredibly frustrating. This whole fight needs to be reworked. I love the idea you mention at the end of the video in the note next to the Snagret drawing. Bosses are better when they are always vulnerable, but always dangerous. Fantastic idea! Like the Maestro could simply be target-able all the time, even when attacking/commanding little scornets, but missing during his attacks would bring the obvious risk of the Pikmin being scooped up by the scornets. Then just trim the time up between the Maestro's attacks and remove his ability to fall down on the ground to be bull rushed by your pikmin, and you've got a much better boss fight! This could off course be applied to all other bosses. So overall, really good video breaking down this flaw with bosses and providing some really good insight into ways to fix them! I will say that I don't think that the game requiring you to have a certain pikmin type for a boss is necessarily a flaw. Like with the Phosbat, it added some very cool puzzle elements and interacted with the environment in a fun way during the boss. If you could just cheese the fight by hitting it with any pikmin and ignoring the whole lair puzzle that they set up, I feel like that would really detract from the game. The Phosbat still does have damage caps so that he can only take a certain amount of damage per light bulb before knocking the Pikmin off, and perhaps that should be removed. Meanwhile the Mireclops shell doesn't really add anything to the fight, it doesn't really detract from it much in my opinion either. You're never going to be super fast on your first playthrough because you have no idea what's coming, but on repeat playthroughs you know what pikmin types are required for all the tasks before you set out for the day. Part of the fun/strategy is finding out what combination of Pikmin numbers are going to help you accomplish the most in the day and require the fewest number of trips back to the onion to exchange types as possible. I'm not saying that these fights are perfect either, I just don't think that the idea of fights requiring certain colors of Pikmin is a guaranteed negative. Just my opinion though.
This guy really modded hats onto Pikmin 3 bosses for a joke, and still made an informative video out of it. Amazing.
I just got the joke
As someone who has never played Pikmin I didn't even know they weren't supposed to be there 😂
Yeah, pretty sick if you ask me.
Ahhh. Boss CAPS.
Very clever

The hats on the bosses. I didn’t realize until the mireclops. All of the hats actually kinda fit the bosses… until the toy cowboy hat

he did say all of the bosses have caps lol
If that's a mod then I want to see more of it badly. The hats are a fantastic addition
OHHHHH ITS A FREAKING PUN HOW DID I MISS THAT…

That pentagon was rough to hear, but honestly? I completely agree. It deserves that.
personally i thought it was worth only a parallelogram but i guess it got a pentagon because it’s a cool boss conceptually
I would have initially thought to have given it a green sarcophagus, but i knew it wouldn't of been able to reach such a tier
Oh god, the PINK ONE IS ACTUALLY WORSE, HE NEVER USES THE PINK, BUT PINK IS THE WORST OF THE WORST
The quaggled mireclops is my favorite boss in the game! It deserved at least an amber spiral!
thank you!!! i was gonna say the exact same thing
I dunno... It's a turquoise ellipse for me
Sorry but I really can’t see the mireclops as anything less than a burgundy dodecahedron
@@Joosher56 You're kidding right? You know damn well the lowest it can go is chartreuse triangle, burgundy dodecahedron my ass
