- We drive the new 2025 Porsche 992.2 911 Carrera and GTS, on the street and track. We talk with the engineers to understand the latest technology that, at least on paper, delivers super car performance. Will this technology improve and save internal combustion, or is it another over complicated gimmick? Others to consider are Chevy Corvette, Lexus GR, LC500, Mercedes AMG GT.

Jack's maniacal laughter while Mark looked like he was dying... LMFAO
I thought Mark couldn't be any whiter and here we are.
One more lap. This time Mark has a meatball sub or beef n cheddar to deal with…
The f’in greatest thing.
I was crying I was laughing so hard
This video was testament to just how amazing your best videos are. Usually when Jack is in full-on testosterone rage.
Holy shit that track session was absolutely unhinged - that was fantastic lol
And the smile on Jorg's face at the end says a lot
The track looks stunning too, anybody knows where it's located?

As an engineer and gear fanatic, this is one of the best channels on YT for real car guys. Thank you for such a detailed description and being able to explain the engineering.
They’re the best for it, always great to watch them review a vehicle
Man I'm 50 and been a car guy since age 8 when I first laid hands on a glossy Car and Driver magazine. These guys are my heroes!
I always come to these two first and know I’ll be disappointed by every video I watch later.
agree they're my go-to vids every time new car reviews come.
Yep. 100% agree.
Proving it’s truly a small world, I live in the Chicago suburbs and randomly bumped into Jack at my local coffee shop this past weekend. He’s a really nice guy and a genuine car guy. We talked about this video being released and him putting Mark through hell so all of us viewers can enjoy watching it. And the video didn’t disappoint!
Nice meeting you at CC man. Before you get rid of your c5 make sure you track it at least once!
Nice! I met them both last year at a season closing Cars and Coffee event.
Me three! Did you guys also invest in their vegan shrimp bar?
@@B-kl8vj not yet! Haha
Jealous. I'd love to have a chat with the car goats
This is peak cackling from Silverback Jack.
Also I do believe I legitimately saw Mark's soul leave his body.
i thought you were talking about when mark was driving. but then i got to jack on track and died hahaha
This video had me, laughing along with them 😂
Yea I think this may break the record from the CT5-V Blackwing episode. Although I don't think the Testosterone meter would've quite hit the same "danger to prostate" level.
Wasn’t the silverback like 28-29yo? I still can’t believe it
Jorg is an unreal driver. That clip at the end was amazing. To get paid to kill tires like that has to be a great feeling.
Those tires were screaming...not sure if for more or mercy....maybe both ❤
I agree, watching Jorg put the car through its paces was fantastic. Equally fantastic were the flashes to him as he was driving like that, looking totally calm and relaxed…and smiling. You KNOW he was just having a great time. As I watched the front facing camera, and listened to the engine revs, you could hear him perfectly timing the power application and control to induce and maintain those drifts.
@@RbNetEngr Having fun but with the tinge of German guilt for not going around the track in the fastest most efficient way possible...
Yep, the smile on his face despite doing it for probably the 50th time says it all
I remember Jacks first video on blue tacoma where he had problems talking to camera… now He is flying 911 GTS behind one of the best drivers in the world and can keep talking about the car. 👏
Maybe the Toyota script made him blush?
Chasing 1 of the best drivers whose in a Turbo S with a GTS and not getting absolutely smoked.
This is probably the first time we've seen mark look afraid/sick. Good job Porsche.
Not to this level but jacks c7 grand sport video he was about to get sick on track too
I mean one wrong mistake and you’ll fly off the cliff.
Happened with the GT3 RS too
"We're chasing Jörg Bergmeister, my childhood hero on a track we don't know, we're on the Ascari circuit. I'll do my best not to kill us both"..... Just remember you guys made that happen. It's been so awesome watching this channel grow over the last 10 years. Congrats :) This video was a pure joy to watch.
Jack definitely popped a rod driving this 911.
Truth
gee
I think he blew a rod
Mark definitely pooped his pants riding in this 911.
Who wouldn’t
This video’s “after-work release” timing resonates within me
same lol it’s perfect
I really hope Mark finds a suitable location for his shrimp scampi bar.
Well it a Porsche video, so a Porsche Whale Tail is appropriate buffet I suppose
If he opened one, imagine the reservations backlog from us. Lol, we'd do more damage to shrimp than Red Lobster.
Savage Scampi
Imagine going to happy hour at the shrimp scampi bar and then getting into a 911 GTS with Jack immediately afterwards…
It’s no Camry Hybrid video but I guess I’ll watch.
😂😂👍
I never comment on videos. Maybe it’s the double whiskey and coke, but that was fucking awesome guys!
The drive at the end was unhinged. Those tires were DONE and his smirk said it all.
Y’all covered the technical bits but more importantly, you captured the insane joyful precision of this vehicle. The prideful and meticulous engineering that went into this car is clearly visible in your film. Awesome. 🎉
Jack and Mark giggling uncontrollably...and even the German is smiling...this thing must be mad!
hahahahahaha great point lol
The fact that Jorg can’t hide his grin under his serious racing focus, says something about this car
100% must be insanely good!!
I’m sold on the 992.2 GTS from the track session alone. Jack’s unstoppable giggling and Mark’s about to throw up look is priceless. Most fun to watch car review video ever.
Jorg's drifting style is amazing, only just barely overdriving a perfect line. Small controlled angles. Drifting while still lapping fast AF. Bravo.
The smile on Jorg’s face says it all. Good job yet again P.
This is the best ad for a 992.2 GTS that could ever be made.
good to see Jörg Bergmeister cutting no slack like Chris Harris
You guys, and Engineering Explained, are the only channels that really go into the nitty gritty of car tech. Nerdy engineering details might not be for everyone, but man do you guys nail it when it comes to technicals. Keep it up!
You might also like The Car Care Nut channel - fantastic in depth reviews by a experienced mechanic.

Jason Cammissa does regularly too and his videos are like old top gear quality
@@SirJamesTND Oh yeah how did I forget the goat
From a lowly septic man to shrimp scampi mogul, Mark is living the American dream
I mean, he was a fairly sucessfull septic man as I recall...
@@brettgoldsmith9971the number one to call if you’ve number two problems in the greater Chicago area.
He was also a Wendy's manager who got divorced
silverback jack's ability to yap while beating the pants off a Porsche is absolutely bananas
Damn that driving from that guy insane. I am glad you showed that part.
Yeah Jorg is nuts. On the Hagerty channel watch the 911 GT3 RS video around Silverstone, where Jorg takes Henry Catchpole out to show him what the car can really do. It's awesome.
Long term sub here. Seen a lot of vids and blase reactions in the past. I'd watch this one again and again just to see Mark stiffen up and hear his wails while Jack is laughing like a child. "Dude I just... can't". 😂 Should somehow add "hats off" to the video title. See 20:57
WELP this was it for me. The best car video I will ever see. The engineering, the location, the fresh release, the FIZZ, the Joy, the raucous good time shared on this automotive plane of existence we all share. Kudos to you all for pursuing your dreams and putting in the work to get you here and have this experience. Double kudos for filming it so well and giving it to me for free.
I was hoping for a full Red lobster commercial.
I'm sure you guys are tired of all the compliments at your level of fame.. - but let me just say that you are the best car review show on the planet. You guys are the best, both literally and figuratively. The passion and effort you put into your videos is very much noticed and appreciated. Very well done on this one - practically feels like we're in the car with you.
These vids from a pure entertainment standpoint are hard to beat. Mark doing the "street drive" and simultaneously loving and hating the car while Jack gushes. Jack doing the track drive laughing like a hyena as Mark looks to 2 secs away from S-ing himself. He literally looked like he was gonna die at the end,....lol, I love it. The "Jorg..." ending - jeezus.
Wow ! Well done guys. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. The cuts, images quality, the POV of the lap with Jorg! Top quality stuff right here
Jorg is an amazing driver, I liked the clips of the occasional wry smile after a perfect drift.
honestly breaking out into maniacal laughter as you hit the gas says more about a car than any amount of technical talk ever will.
This is one of my favorite reviews. You could tell they were having a ball going around that track!!
Watching this Porsche fly around the track makes me want to slap a Tomei exhaust on my WRX outside and drive it like I just ran out of bubblegum vape juice.
Jack's pure joy and laughter while driving reminds me in the best way of some of Tiff Needell's classic drives.
The sense of speed in the street and track drives is absolutely crazy! Well captured.
Holy hell that track segment was incredible. Mark could see the years being taken from him. What a machine
❤ thanks for that. Ill pour one out for mark for you.

LOL at 19:09 "It drifts! It drifts REALY well!!!!!"
OK. Jack (the Silverback gorilla driver) and Mark NEED to test cars together. Great chemistry between them when they are having fun wringing-out a car. Really enjoyed them talking about the lunatic limits of the Porsche in this video. At the top of the internet car test mafia for irreverent fun and technical prowess. Excellent!
Genuinely had so much fun watching you guys fly around the track. I’ve been saying for years this is the best cartuber channel by a long, long way
Jack is a helluva of a driver! Being able to pilot that thing around and still have the processing power in his brain to wax poetically about this beast is pretty awesome.
This edit where you end with a two-minute no commentary POV spirited drive #sound_outro is great.
Can't wait for the turbo S version.
Yes, let’s see what the 992.2 can do once they put a turbo in it. Oh wait…
I hope they keep the HP but make it lighter with that hybrid tech.
I believe this car video should go down in history, as one of the greatest of all time! Unbelievable car, and what a job you two did regarding this video!
you guys are living the dream. love the content as always
It's fun to see Jorg enjoying and trying to hide away a smile on well executed drift. I feel Jack is an American version of him to a point.
The 911 has always been my fav car. But never have I seen a test like this. Wonderful entertainment. Thanks guys for keeping my unobtainable dream alive.
My god was this a joy to watch. Seeing how fast that thing was going and how much fun you guys were having really translated well through the video.
Jorgs sideways driving was brilliant!
18:56
The grin on Jorg's face says it all!
Amazing how Porsche continues to outdo themselves and surprise even you two on the track who’ve driven pretty much every modern Porsche
Can we get some styling change tho? They all look the same minus the shitty cayennes and the god tier Spyder
@knightrider693 no, that'd make it heavier. Weight is a great reason to not overstyle the car and make it look like am Audi.
This is the hardest I've laughed in a long time. Well done .. great vid, boys.
A savagegeese video in the afternoon is a pleasant surprise!
There has not been a greater “oh yeah!” since the Kool-Aid Man. You don’t need German Engineers to tell you how great the car is when Mark and Jack are laughing and screaming like maniacs for half the video. Thanks Gents!
Porn bot stole your comment dog.
What a video! That car looks like so much fun. Also that Porsche engineer was really well spoken and informative. Props to him!
I'm sure it's great and it looks like a lot of fun but there's something sad about the analog tachometer delete, the twist 🔑 delete (even tho i know it's fake in the 992.1) and the intro of the 1st hybrid. Hoping this isn't the beginning of the end for the 911 😢. Lot of things may seem "better" on paper from an engineering standpoint but the 911 has always been about a lot more than that.
Fully agree here. All 3 points just seem like they went in the wrong direction there, or at very least it should be an option just like everything else.
The refresh rate of the speedo kills me. It's inappropriately slow, so much so that even accelerating in the triple digits you can see it jumping whole tens place values in the time it takes to refresh
10:00 Holy Crap never seen such a vicious launch for a street legal car. Jorg’s smile at the end says it all. Where do I sell a kidney?
I wish the new 992s weren't so damn wide. Even in LA roads, the new 911s take up the entire road like a full sized truck.
Seems like a great car otherwise though.
Seems fine if a Raptor is your daily lol
This. It's no surprise they have the performance..they're huge. Power can get to the ground..but, they're behemoths. I don't really care for many modern cars. They're just getting blasted and boring, even if their performance is off the charts.
Imagine what it’s like in Europe
This is one of the main reasons why older, smaller, lighter Porsches will continue to rise in value.
This is the second video of yours I’m watching. You explain your driving experience perfectly and authentically yet and not tiring watcher with a lot of useless technical stuff. Good job👍🏻👏🏻
Solid video guy! Y’all have made me appreciate the recent iterations of the 911 even more than I already did.
I was skeptical until watching this video in its entirety. This machine is a scalpel. I cant wait for the day I can get behind wheel of one.
Hey, you guys are doing a fantastic job with this channel. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Best full silverback mode video ever! Well done Jack!
You guys are simply one of the best review shows around. There's always so much technical data that is simply missed out in other review shows. Not only that but you two seem to have the most fun in your videos, I can't tell you how hard it is sometimes to describe the feeling one gets when behind the wheel but all I have to do is share a single review of yours and enough is said.
Thank you Mark and Jack for another smile to get me through the day.
This was both amazing and hilarious! Almost certain Mark left a Hershey's kiss on that driver's seat.
Goddammit. Let me get back to you in 27 and a half minutes...
Edit: 19 minutes in. Mark has shit his pants.
Another fabulous video!! Thank you Savagegeese for the years of blood, sweat, and tears that obviously goes into your work. Y'all go the extra mile (or thousands of miles) to speak to people directly involved to find out the why and how. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated!
GREAT video! Jorg is a BEAST! It's fun to watch Jorg when he's just having fun with all the drifting, etc., then watch a vid with him around the Nordschleife to see how smooth and fast he really is. Amazing talent. Oh yeah, all the engineering stuff on the 992.2 is really cool too...
Amazing track drive and production! Cannot believe this is UA-cam content.
Oh hey I got to go now.
Oh, yeah not much, just flying to Spain to test drive the new Porsce
What a video! Like the hybrid turbo setup, there was not a dull moment in this entire video. Job well done 👌🏼
you absolutely RIPPED THAT TRACK to SHREDS!!! What an awesome drive!!!! Well done!!!
Best car channel on YT. By far.
So enjoyable. Drifting and catching a Turbo 4S nice job. Clever packaging of hybrid system 992 GTS is a beast
This is definitely one of the best channels on UA-cam. Thank you for the great content.
So good I had to come back today and watch again. You two together in a car.... priceless.
I love getting off a 12 hour shift and being delighted to one of these 🙏🏾 You guys perfectly captured the essence of the love for cars when Silverback Jack was going balls to the walls on the track.
Best video I’ve seen in a long time. I’m dying 😂😂😂😂
Watching you guys there in Spain makes me wish I was back there again, but on a motorcycle. For those who don't know, Spain is probably the best place in the world for driving and riding.
Best car channel on youtube!!!! thank you guys! WOW what a drive!
Surprised they let you guys on track in that car without helmets. But great video, and haven’t seen Mark that scared since the Lucid Air track video
27:02 that was so sick
That Porsche lad was so lovely! Great to listen to you guys chat about this amazing piece of engineering ❤
OH!
So much fun.
Mark's facial expressions say all that needs to be (or can be) said.
What a car.
Savage Geese are the best at explaining the technology, capability, drivability and fun of cars.
Got my heart racing just watching Jack drive…
I don't care how little the car's design changes, the 911 will always look and be the tits.
To me to look is so blah. These cars have become what EV's are. Appliances in their field. Fast yes. But, I'm not feeling the soul of these vehicles. Not just Porsche, but pretty much the majority of the Auto industry. 😢
@@rickygforce4217 Never claimed to speak for anyone else. 🤷🏻♂️
@@watchandjewelryloft4713 ah apologies, it's late rn for me and I read "not just Porsche" as "not just me" somehow
Holy sheeeeeeet! What an experience! Thanks for taking us along!
excellent production you guys differentiate yourself vastly from what is already an oversaturated market with your attention to detail, interview with reps, footage from track and sense of humor. there are very car reviewers that I can actually sit and watch and not click out of. this and your lucid video along with the challenger are my particular favorites.
The new car is really good but man, they need to put back the Analog tachometer ASAP.
It sounds like a Subaru Outback 3.6R with headers and a exhaust.
You guys are the absolute best at what you do, please never stop
Can I just say how much I appreciated the takeoff acceleration graph! This is my first visit to the channel and that's the very first time I've ever seen anybody use that metric (imperial actually) anywhere and visually it was WAY more communicative interesting informative and useful than the usual plain old 0-60 stats. Excellent! I look forward to seeing more channels adopt this pioneering brilliance!
Well, this was absolutely brilliant.
Holy crap, what a marvel of engineering. The Germans do it right.
No, Porsche does it right, not the Germans
@@panameradan6860 AMG GT... R8... M5 Comp... Yeah, only Porsche does it right...
I’ve seen about a dozen videos by different channels, influencers and car content vloggers, etc. - all at the same Porsche-hosted launch at Ascari in Andalusia. This is by far the best. All boxes ticked: technical details, driving impressions, great European roads, glee and laughter and seeing a trained pro taking a hot lap. Thank you for infusing this half hour video with such humanity (as compared to the car which dismays me as soulless speed appliance).
Intro music still amazing
Man fuck retirement I'm saving for a Porsche.
