Best car I have owned. The sound of that NA V8 was the best.
Not surprised. I would love to have a V8 in my life.
I love AUDI,This RS4 is beautiful 👍👍👍
Agree. Styling wise some Audis are beautiful.
Love the RS4, i can tell the owner is smitten with his choice. Ppl tend to chase 0-60 times and forget we drive on roads with speed limits and traffic not race tracks. The RS4 seems to be the perfect family daily, now that you can pick up a good used one for under 30k which is considerably cheaper than any current serious car, you can have a lot of change left over for petrol. Wins
I think you can pick up for about £25k. This car has a character, something which majority of todays cars missing.
I love this car, definitely been a faveourite since the B7 came out. But describing it as a 'perfect daily' isn't entirely accurate is it? 🤨 😅
The owner himself was reluctant to call it that himself, he said 'family' car, then went on to reveal the economy figures for town driving. 🤦♂️ 😂. He's not using that weapon to run about in day to day in the UK, that's a fun at the weekend car in this part of the world.
@@martytdd1606 well he actually runs it as a family daily 😅 He has other toy for the weekend which we filmed a few weeks earlier. He is a proper petrolhead.
@@martytdd1606 I run mine daily too and I'm in the UK also.
@ericc.4292 do you own a petrol station? 🤣
I've got a '14 8.5 RS4. Had it for 3 years and can't fault it at all. If you care for your mpg, then it's definitely not the car for you 😂. Bought mine on 50k and she's just hit 85k. Not a single fault. Was well looked after before and is more so now.
I searched long and hard for the spec and mileage. One owner from new and they went a all out on the extras. It has everything bar the bucket seats, which is what I was after. Carbon interior, pano roof, all the bells and whistles. The rotor wheels had a couple of dings, so I had them refurbed and powdercoated satin black. With the black optics pack and the car in panther black, it looks like the BatMobile 😂.
Now I've had it a few years I'm starting to toy with the idea of getting a custom exhaust made. Not too outlandish, but now I feel I'd like to hear a bit more of that awesome V8 rumble.
Great video guys and I look forward to watching more.
Thanks. Glad you’re enjoying yours. Definitely do the exhaust.
Have a 2013 rs4, theres not alot of cars that sound better. Gotta remember that with R8 engines comes R8 prices for upkeep. Had to have the DRC replaced with coils, brakes are a fortune too.
Worth every penny!!!
They sound gorgeous.
Smashing video gentlemen thank you.
Thanks. Regards
Sounds great, looks great. 😎 You can visually see the different suspension settings 😂😂
The change between the suspension modes was very noticeable.
Great video. Love the B8.5 RS4. I will get one one day. Looks like Wimbleball Lake in the into and outro?
Thanks! No it’s Thruscross reservoir
Hey. Nice video. I ran one for about 2 years and trust me…pop the suspension in Auto in Individual Mode. It’s a really nice balance between Comfort and Dynamic. I was brought to the solution on the R/S forums 👍🏻 Dynamic really is too much unfortunately.
Great car and sounded amazing. I could daily that if not the running cost.
Stil think the B8, pre-facelift (also the facelift though), is the most beautiful A4 ever made. It's just, not too round, not too blocky.. it has the perfect balance of old/new. It's just in-between.
I’m with you on this one.
If you run the ride in "Auto" this is in between Comfort and Dynamic... (Took me ages to realise this). A great review - thanks 👍
Thanks. Great tip!
@@MDrives (if you watch JayEmm on cars, he drove my Blue RS4 a couple of years ago before I realised about Auto mode...)
@@steverogers7473thanks 👌
@@steverogers7473thanks!
For wet and rain and smaller size it's a good choice but I'd take a 6.2l c63 any day
Hmm I would struggle here. I don’t like mercs interiors.
@MDrives their interiors used to be much nicer than other cars 😅 my poor e9 m3 interior is pretty mediocre in comparison
I've never heard about the interior complaints about an AMG compared to an Audi or BMW before but there's always one I suppose 😅
I drove the A4 Avant 2.0 TDI (same body/colour) and I remember saying ''if there only was a petrol , high powered version...'' . I was not aware they out V8's in these ! I know of V6 Supercharged only.
Yes, the V6 supercharged was badged as S4. Lovely motor as well.
Loved mine.. exact same spec as this but a bit younger.
Epic cars!
That’s my old car, traded into Brighton Mercedes. Love this car so much.
Lovely wagon in did!
@@MDrives I have a BMW M4 now, but looking at an X5 M50d on Tuesday as need 7 seater but not wanting to lose performance too much. The RS4 was a shock to see on here lol just typed it in to see what would happen. Hope he looks after it.
Has it got a Milltek exhaust on it? Resonated or non-resonated? Sounds far too grunty for just the original sports even in dynamic? Lol
@@george2164it didn’t when I had it. Just the Sports exhaust. Traded this in for a C250d Premium plus estate to be sensible, soon changed my mind and got an M4. Worst thing I did was get rid of this.
With a diff, valve exhaust and dynamic suspension RS4 is really a great car. But s-tronic is not the most reliable gear box, that’s why RS6 has the ZF. Would be interesting to drive RS6 after the RS4.
Definitely I would love to try one.
The S-tronic is pretty reliable, should have it's oil changed every 40k which ppl don't do and hence have problems. The RS6 doesn't have one because the S-tronic can't handle more than 400lb ft of torque.
Rubbish. Had my RS4 for 6 years now and never had a gearbox issue. Also had S5, VW R36, GTi, all with DSG boxes and never ever once had the so called reliability issues. These morons who claim this box is unreliable usually modify in a backyard and don’t service their vehicles. The RS4 B8 is a fantastic car that I cant bring myself to sell. The B9 by comparison is boring as hell even though its quicker, more efficient etc etc.
@@gdubyadubya8961 Yeah most likely, i know a mechanic that refurbish the S-Tronics and is specified in these. Probably when you get all bad examples at once you think it‘s unreliable. But oil and clutches are expensive compared to gear boxes in the same class.
@@ericc.4292yeah I agree depends on how you drive your car and maintain it
Looking at switching from a 2017 bmw 335d mapped to a 2014 rs4 and wondered what’s your honest opinion
I think you might find it underpowered if you have mapped 335d. It’s a torque monster. NA V8 is the opposite of it. You have to rev it to extract the power. You get glorious soundtrack with it but also a huge petrol bill. If you want to experience it, you won’t be disappointed but it won’t feel as fast as your car.
@@MDrives it’s not easy as it’s a 2014 1 owner 52000 miles fuel isn’t the issue as it’s not a daily but more a box ticked
@@tjcarruthers9820 sounds like it have to be done 😏
@@tjcarruthers9820there's little difference in the numbers acceleration wise.but the 335d feels faster with all it's low down torque. The rs4 is so much more exciting to rev out though. But you need to keep it above 5k rpm to get the performance
I've had both , plus a w212 e63 wagon and I'd have the rs4 personally. Its much more special to drive
@dandylion1987 thank you for your input. You owned some epic cars.
Any chance I could import one of these to the states without dropping serious cash?
You would have to check prices of EU cars to have steering wheel on correct side.
Thats not a standard exhaust is it?
Well… I leave it to the owner to comment. 🙄
Biggest lemon I’ve ever owned. There wasn’t a month that went by when something failed. Never, ever again.
Ohh dear. You have been unlucky I guess.
B8.5 there is no B8 RS4
Thanks for pointing it out
Only real con is the 20 year old interior
Not that old but this model came out in 2008 so 16 years old technology. You can however retrofit CarPlay I believe.
the intrior is way better than an f series bmw
