  • Welcome to another video.
This time the customer contacted us before he actually purchased this car and after some conversations he did buy it. I think it is an absolute bargain for RS4 with unknown faults. Unfortunately the information given to the owner was not 100% accurate and even before I put it on the ramp I found out that the engine wont turn a bit ... So the investigation began... more in the video

This is FAR from boring...the investigation was spot on...still ongoing, but to have a spark plug break like that, I've never seen that...guessing the rest of the plug is either melted or was in the pump...I'm looking forward to the next instalment of this. Remember, you don't have to fix anything to make this content interesting; that's what you do, and you're a master at it. It's the knowledge and plan of investigation that is intriguing and leads to a diagnosis that many wouldn't even think of doing. Please, keep doing what you're doing regarding the diagnosis and analysis...yes, enjoy the fixing aspect, but the vast knowledge you have can't be bought. This is incredible talent mate. It really is. That's why I come to you when seeking advice or to get my issues with my car sorted and I've been to you more than once and you've resolved everything for me, over and above the so-called "specialists". They don't compare.

That’s crazy, the same thing happened to my rs4 in cylinder 5, snapped Intake valve, but the valve stem and springs were in place just the bottom part came off. I was at 8000rpm on a pull when it happened and I think the valve jammed inside the guide.
I would like to know your opinion on a problem I have with the rebuild engine, I’m currently breaking it in and after warming the engine up at idle I occasionally get G301 incorrect correlation and G61 Knock sensor 1 signal to low. The engine used to shake at idle but now it doesn’t anymore and the error comes up less frequently, I have so far driven about 250km on the engine. I have swapped oil solenoid valves and cam sensor to no major improvements, other the engine running better with time.

I bought one a couple months ago with 71k miles for £25k, reduced from £28k but with the full RS performance exhuast, DRC and dynamic steering. A bit of a bargain as its immaculate and running well.

Great video as always. At £10k, I think I would rather find a really nice example in perfect working order and a good history because once you throw in a full suspension rebuild, subframe repair, plus a few other things (as always happens) the cost could be heading into the ball park of a really nice example, maybe exceeding it.

Which engine oil do you put in your TDI cars and they are safe enough or good enough? Is the normal engine oil like "Full synthetic engine oil, e,g, Mobile-1 5W-30 with small stamp at bottom corner "for European Cars" is good enough? Or for these TDI engine we have to have go with those special LiquiMoly brands like which are made only for diesel engines?

Does anyone know if these issues are likely caused by poor maintenance and over driving (eg. Not waiting until the car gets up to temperature before revving it out)?
I’ve got a 2014 rs4 with 68k miles. Full main dealer history and all the extra bits done at the right time. I never give it more than 3.5k revs until it’s up to temp. These videos are somewhat scary so if anyone knows if I should be doing preventative work or if what I’m doing already is likely to keep the engine running well that would be very good to know! Cheers

I did transmission oil and filter change job for 2016 A7 with TDI engine. I filled the oil without pump, using long break hose and funnel, channeling from engine bay.
After leveling the car I started to fill the pan but only after 2.75 quarts it started spilling out from fill plug (means its filled).
It gave me doubts that only 2.75 quarts, as I was expecting 4 to 6 at least?
I just finished this job and haven't started the car yet because of this situation if it is an abnormal situation. I will start when I will feel comfortable.
Please share your experience with 2016 TDI A7 if you had any. Is it normal and I should go ahead and start the car and it will take more (4 to 5 quarts) after?
