Dude, it is so funny when everything salty you said it is cheese. Dont forget about salt. 😆 and, there is no cheese inside the tofu in bakso. Sometime it is chicken/beef meat with flour, or just sticky rice flour/dough. But, I am glad you try almost everything. 😄

Indonesia has more banana variant, but some of em usually used for making fried banana. The variant that i know is kepok banana, raja/king banana, horn/tanduk banana, uli banana, nangka banana.

20:36 it is not green bean, it's mung bean. people mistake this all the time because in literal translation from indonesian is "green bean".
and i'm sorry for lara's having a hard time finding vegetarian food. but there are plenty of food you can always just ask for no meat.
indonesian people also tend to have inconsistency when it comes to street food (especially foreign food serving) so please don't gave your hopes up and keep looking for the ones to your suitting. great compo thanks for sharing!

every city/province has their own style and choice for foods, so most namings are based on the origin of the foods.
soto bandung and soto lamongan is like a two different thing even both are technically soto.

Lil bit of friendly advice, when u try Indonesian cuisines or any south east Asia cuisines, make sure u ask to the food vendor or local people how u consume it/how u eat it or drink it, So u can actually enjoy it and gets the taste. Vegetarian food for Lara: gado gado, karedok, lotek, tempe bacem, gulai tahu, nasi lengko, mendoan (deep fried Tempe with seasoned batter) and still a lot of it i can't remember now. All of those is without meet or eggs, so it's basically vegan

Cendol suppose to be sweet creamy coconut drink, you should mix it until its caramel brown.. to bad we didn’t saw you guys eat things like; babi kecap, rendang, ayam rica rica, pepesan, semur daging, lemper, risolles, pangsit goreng, sambal goreng tempe, perkedel jagun, perkedel kentang, ayam goreng, nasi kuning, petjil, gado gado, rempejeh, rujak.. try this list next time :) you will thank me later

It's cassava dear...not mashed potato. With special way of cooking it will turn like potato. But if you fry it directly, it will be a little bit hard. So they boil it first before fry it.
The one you didn't know is stuffed tofu or we call it tahu isi.
Banana but not banana is the same type of sweet purple potato, but white.

That yellow noodle in bakso is curly egg noodle/dry noodle (mie telur keriting/mie kering). Dry noodle is like instant noodle, you can just boil it.
If you wanna eat fresh noodle you can eat Bakmi, Mie Ayam, Mie Celor, Mie Aceh etc.

Fried casava, Fried Sweet Potato, Fried Tofu, Fried Banana ( A lot of Fritter we called Gorengan), Sweet Honey Pineaple / nanas madu, Nasi padang is mixed Rice with the meat vegetable sambal chili paste and Rempeyek ( we made from Rice flour, white of spice, little bit dry shrimp or Peanut, Sticky rice(as usualy we called "LUPIS" serve with Brown sugar syroup and dry Coconut), traditional market pastry as usualy we use FlourRice , Sticky rice, coconut milk, martabak is pancake of Famous in indonesia the taste you choose salty (Egg and meat) or Sweet. Many flavour chocolate, peanut, Sticky rice, milk cheese or banana. Sate ( Chicken skewer with peanut sauce you can eat with steamed rice or Lontong), next laura eat "sekuteng" so many in jkt the taste sweet from condensed milk, brown sugar cook with ginger. Bakso is meatball soup served with Glass noodle, vegetable, sambal and Fried shallot, celery. Next lara eat "mie titi" culinar from makasar, fried of noodle crispy and pour the tick of Sauted Vegetable mix seafood. Next yes exactly "kue bantal / pillow cake", Pisang mollen the name same like the big Truck.

About bubur kacang ijo, this is the first time I saw that bubur kacang ijo with that look. Because here in my city, bubur kacang ijo doesn't look like that. In my city we eat bubur kacang ijo with coconut milk and brown rice. Without that bread and jelly

We have different kinds of satay. There are Madura style (w/ peanut sauce), Maranggi (marinated in spices before grilled), Taichan (w/ salt and pepper only), Sate Lilit (originally from Bali) etc.

I usually pick Es Campur, but only coconut & avocado. I don't like to add anything else, especially those colorful pearl like jelly. Most indonesian pastry are sweet and made from casava, corn, sticky rice, and sweet potato. And as for martabak, I like pandan martabak (green) with topping mix of cheese, peanut and chocolate sprinkles.

If you go to Padang restaurant maybe you can try perkedel, it is mashed potato deep fried. Very yummy. Sometimes they also served eggplant with chilli but it's not too spicy. An option for vegetarian
Kalau beli minuman es.. jus.. & lain lain sebaiknya diaduk dulu biar merata... makan akan dapatkan rasa sebenarnya
The one that looks like a potato is called cassava (singkong), while the one you said looks like a banana, I'm guessing it might be a sweet potato, it tastes a little sweet, but not as sweet as a banana.

1st food = cenil, made from rice/ cassava flour, brown rice = ketan.
2. My favorite martabak is coklat kacang, they add some roast peanuts sprinkles, u must try the *martabak asin* too next time
3. The sate ayam sauce is a combination of peanut and soybean sauce,
4. Bubur kacang hijau : actually a dessert, (they using ketan rice, because it taste more sweet that the regular) its one of everyone favorite during ramadhan
5. Usually bakso vendors using freshly hand made noodles
6. Donuts, pisang molen

Gebackener Maniok/Cassava ist sehr lecker. Tapiokamehl/-stärke wird auch aus Maniokmehl hergestellt.
Manchmal gibt es auch gebackenes Brotfrucht/Breadfruit/Sukun als Streetfood, welches sehr gut riecht und sehr sehr lecker ist.
Dawet/Cendol wird normalerweise aus Michung von Reismehl, Klebreismehl oder Hunkwemehl gemacht.. Es wird häufig mit Durian kombiniert und ist als Dessert sehr lecker und sehr beliebt.
