A Lighthouse Keeper's guided tours. Episode Twenty Five, St Tudwals

- This is now along the Llyn Penisula up in North West Wales.
St Tudwals Island was acetylene gas powered when I was a Keeper. It is now an LED type powered by solar power. This is a very pretty part of the World, well worth a visit.
The Island is now privately owned, so no visits, but boat trips around it are from Abersoch, which is almost opposite.

Hi Peter,
Thank you for another wonderful video of a lighthouse keeper's job. What a fantastic mechanism for changing the wick, how clever is that!!
As I said before, my uncle was a lighthouse keeper at Langness lighthouse here on the IoM. As a young boy I would help him when he was on nights and loved the smell of lighthouses. It was through him that I have a love of lighthouses and lightships. How lucky you are to have had such a fantastic job as a Lighthouse Keeper!
Thank you very much. It's so nice when my videos trigger memories and more so when they are shared here. Yes, the smell of Lighthouses never leave you. Take care and stay safe.
Lovely lighthouse love the gas mechanics 😎
Thank you David. Yes the gas mechanics were kind of special. Cheers and stay safe.
Marvellous
Thank you very much. Take care Mate.

Thank you very much. Yes, if I get time on a Lighthouse video visit, I like to include the wildlife. Cheers and take care.

I missed your channel. Forgot your last name so i found you under 'Peter Lighthouse '😂
Thank you very much. I will have to remember that one when I'm asked how to find my channel, cheers. Stay safe
Cool thanks mate
Thank you.
Nice updates Peter. Leo
Thank you, glad you like them. Stay safe.
Another gem of a video, thank you! I have a question - at the 9:00 minute mark, what is that upright stone inside the enclosure?
Thank you very much. That would be the base of the old flag mast. Cheers and stay safe.
That Merion driving the boat isn’t it? His son still does the moorings in the bay Owi Lloyd Jones. I’m sure if you went to see him he would run you out to the island. He’s on face book.
I’m sure he took all the building supplies out for mr grills when he bought the island . I’m sure he’d remember you if you knew merion
I believe so but my memory on names isn't the best. I will have to search to find him cheers. Trouble is the Island is now private, so probably not an option, thanks and stay safe.
@@rbrtcrowther Thanks for that. Yes we used to go out fairly often but that was over 20 plus years ago, so don't know if I would be remembered. Cheers and take care.
That was a cool convo. Thanks people
❤
Thank you very much, and take care.
