  • This is now up in the North West corner of Wales. Going offshore to Bardsey Island and its Lighthouse.
    The Lighthouse isn't open to visitors, but the Island is seasonally. It is well worth a visit, either for the day trip or you can rent some of the buildings there for longer Holidays via the Badsey Island Trust.

    Great video and photos. Emptiness is a smell, an unlived in place does have a distinctive smell and atmosphere compared to lived in and in particular cared for accommodation.

    Glad the lens is on display and preserved, its very unusual to have a square tower - quite handsome. Seabird Pie? That would have been ready salted, I suspect it smelled musty. Thanks for sharing with us.

      Yes, eating the wildlife! mmm, not something I've ever contemplated. Square Tower, yes very rare, Holyhead breakwater comes to mind, but certainly not usual. Cheers and stay safe.

    Hi Peter Great clip, you returned in 2021 as a civilian, did you do a stint at Bardsey? Keep them coming Peter really enjoy the clips👍

      Thank you , no I didn't ever get posted here but when I was posted to Holyhead control Centre we used to visit quite often to give the place TLC after it was automated. cheers and stay safe
