I once was smoking weed all day long, 340 lbs, and never exercised. When I was a little older, I dropped my weight to 160 lbs, and exercised every day while following a super healthy diet. Later, I stopped smoking, but ended up drinking 6 standard alcoholic beverages each night, and my weight went back up, but only to 290 lbs. Still 50 lbs better, and only intoxicated in the evening. Now I'm exercising again, eating a bit better, and am ready to try cutting the alcohol. Overall, I'm better than before I started improving. Despite the setbacks, I can say by having lived it that you can improve these things by continuing the effort in the long run, although there may be setbacks.. I've already lost 8 lbs down to 282 since starting about a month and a half ago. Every time I fail, I change something, and try again. This is the what worked for me. I do strongly agree with this video.
Thanks for sharing your experience. You keep at it. Life has its ups and downs, just try to keep doing the positive changes for longer if you can and reduce those negative ones occurring as much. You're obviously doing the right thing 😊

In my case, as a content creator, I've been spending a long time on social media. Here are the changes I've made: 1. I leave my phone or tablet in another room, or, if possible, I put it in a special box. I work on a laptop with the intention that it's my device for work only. 2. I've changed my screen to grayscale. When we watch something in black and white, it's less attractive to our brains. 3. With my phone: usually, I'm offline. I make the decision to check messages for a few minutes and escape from the virtual world. 4. I make a list of what I want to watch: podcasts, movies, etc. When I find something interesting, I try to watch it the next day. Sometimes, I conclude that it isn't worth my time. How about you, dear content creators?
I have a solution because I have been like you before just find distraction I watch UA-cam or playgame then you will consentrairt and stop thinking about anything
Try to work out which stresses actually serve good purpose for you. And try to avoid worrying and thinking over and over about things which you know you can't solve. New circumstances and increased awareness can change your ability to deal with problems, so do make a habit of reflecting and reconsidering old judgements that something is still not worth your time and effort. Prioritise thoughts into what is important and/or easy to change vs unimportant and/or not worth the effort of trying to change. It is good to practise a higher level of awareness (deeper level of consciousness/focus) for longer periods of time, especially when it seems necessary, so don't necessarily consider your tendency to think deeply more often as a bad trait. Maybe it can be seen as a strength.
Hey, lately my mental health has not been at its best lately and i have alot of trouble understanding my behavior, and im maybe overworking myself and my parents are putting too much pressure on school. I'll give you some exemple of what has been happening lately. When I'm at school I will randomly cry but the next day I'll be numb, also I can't sleep when I try to I don't sleep until like 1am or later and if I do sleep it's nightmares where I just re-experience my traumas over and over again so usually when its like this im just gonna do homework. Also I won't eat if I try I'll want to vomit after like last time I ate was 2 or 3 days ago im still not hungry. And I have a low self esteem I will feel like I'm worthless or useless and that not alot of pepeole loves mewich this part has been for awhile. When we say to me to get help I'm like no, I have a lot of trouble trusting people which leads to me not getting a therapist or anything. I've also always been scared of overreacting of my problems and all. I'm also just a kid who do not know what to do anymore to try being happy again. I'm sorry if my comment wasn't very clear English Is not my native language. I just hope that you could help me understand what I have and how to help it because I really don't know anymore. Thank you.
I am so happy to see this! It is the best and most precise way for us to get out of being “stuck” in a bad habit. The one thing that makes the most sense to me is replacing a bad habit with something else and then sticking with it. It works well and makes you feel like you’re doing something that will help you feel better about yourself. The key is to be consistent and obligated with the new habits just as much as you were with the old habits. Thank you
Well, I pulled the trigger and got a Psi plushie. Two actually, one for me, and one for my sister. Thank you so much Psych2go, I really appreciate all you do.
Need a list of these "healthy" habits. Most are boring like exercise, get enough sleep and eat healthy, which I do. But what are some better habits to combat harder addictions?
Finding a good social circle. Keep yourself busy being in touch with nice and supportive people and engage in strengthening those bonds. We are human beings after all, many of those habits are a fulfilment for loneliness and a consequence of today’s society radical individualism (makes your perception self centred and exponentiates your criticism and frustration). It has worked for me to be organised with people that share the same political view as me, but it works with any common interest. For some people its more related to cultural consumption, for others it’s religion, but basically find something you enjoy and keep yourself busy interacting with those people, support them, feel importance in your existence and replace anything else for that feeling.

Is it bad that I can't really acknowledge what kind of habits I have. Cause my perception is whatever I'm doing. I'm doing the best I can do for myself right now. Some people would do things that I do, and it would be a bad habit. For me, it's either something i've been told by a doctor to do or a habit that I gained out of a traumatic situation when I was young. most of the other problems I have come from my disability which I don't know if that goes along with bad habits.
I have a habit of spending my money on games when I’m sad and I’m feeling lonely. Now I’m trying to spent less and less and spent the money on something that I will use. Like new hand cream or some clothes in thrift stores or I just try to save them up for future events.
I’m struggling with a bad habit that is affecting my relationship and I try and I try to fix it but I didn’t understand why I do it, and this video I think might finally help me fix my bad habit but I just hope i can fix it before my relationship might end. Thank you 🤞
I have a bad habit of smoking a lot of weed. I'm thinking it's the nicotine from the cigar wraps, but who knows. I'm trying to slow done, I smoke an ounce a week. I know people who smoke an ounce in 2-3 days...I'm glad I'm not there yet
The one habit that I have is stay up late in night and talk to my friends on the call or play online with them, and it ruins my sleep schedule. Now I’m trying to minimize it to a few nights off or play at a earlier time.
Found that this helps: Stop gaming at 20:00 then Read a Book or DO something that does not involve computer or mobile screens. Go to sleep at 21:30. You should sleep from around 22 to 6 which gives you 8 hours of sleep and Wake Up at 6. This has worked for me. If it clashes with online play w Friends convince Them to play erlier
That's an incredible achievement! Cheers to your continued success! 👏Anything you want to share about your journey or any tips you have for staying on track?
@@Psych2go uhmmm... instrumentalization of lenguage! For me, it was a huge difference between saying "am quitting smoking (or whatever ur vice is)" vs "am done with smoking" ... and your social envirorment. When having around people that incite you to consume instead supporting your decision is much more difficult (almost impossible) to achieve success. Therapy, family, couple and friends are quite good motivators too. Thanks for your content. Greetings and hugs from Chile
the video said replace it with something. have you tried to reach for something else to keep your hands busy, like hand cream or clear polish (to help your nails grow back), or a paperback book (since you need both hands to hold it), string figures like Jacob’s ladder, knitting a beginner piece, or even having dice with you to roll, or cards to shuffle? You can also wear gloves. I’m just listing the first things I can think of that would keep my hands busy, some require concentration and some don’t. From this video, you should try to identify your triggers. Pay attention to what happens or what you’re thinking that makes you feel like biting your nails. You can make changes in life to reduce or eliminate your triggers.

What friends ????
A bad hobbit is me drooling over your vioce
Yes, I quit smoking drinking and drugs for the past 6 years now
That's an incredible achievement!

AWWWWW CUTE ART
*I CAN STOP TYPING IN CAPS ANY TIME I WANT!!!*
I've always bite my nails, and never have figured out how to stop
the video said replace it with something. have you tried to reach for something else to keep your hands busy, like hand cream or clear polish (to help your nails grow back), or a paperback book (since you need both hands to hold it), string figures like Jacob’s ladder, knitting a beginner piece, or even having dice with you to roll, or cards to shuffle? You can also wear gloves. I’m just listing the first things I can think of that would keep my hands busy, some require concentration and some don’t.
From this video, you should try to identify your triggers. Pay attention to what happens or what you’re thinking that makes you feel like biting your nails. You can make changes in life to reduce or eliminate your triggers.

@@mauroescudI don't think it's a bad habit so long as it's not interfering with your life.
