Another troll moment? Ocarina of Time's running man. Game lets you think at first you can beat him easily, but nope, he always beats you by a second. And it's impossible to beat him, no tricks, gameshark codes, even Miyamoto admitted it's impossible.
@@KittyCatViolet379 Even if you cheese the system as hard as you can (I think you can freeze the timer by exploiting using warp songs but not actually warping) and get to the lost woods with a literal clock time of zero seconds you still lose. He says something like his time is "00:0/" seconds, with a symbol instead of a number.
In Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, you are told that you can drink this weird fountain water on Mount Pajamaja. When you drink it, you get the "game over" screen. Then it goes all "Nahh. Jk. Your HP is restored." This scared me so bad the first time.
An overly long gag where he hands over those Nuggets one at a time, complete with the "Item Get!" jingle playing each time. The Japanese name for Nugget is "Gold Ball", the Japanese colloquial term for male balls. Throughout most of the Pokémon series, there has often been an old guy who gives you his "Gold Ball" and then brags about it.
Pokemon Sun and Moon. "Oh, could you check that pool for me? And that one? What about that one? BTW, you just passed through the trail gates. Good luck!"
The biggest troll is the fact that you think you're ready, that it's just going to be a moderately strong water type. But no, it's not just moderately strong- it's one of Alola's strongest Pokémon, and *you are not ready.*
No Magikarp merchant from Red and Blue? I'm deeply disappointed. That was a brilliant emotional roller-coaster that even the anime felt the need to recreate it.
That's the beauty of it. The merchant finds you early on in the game when you're hungry for as many Pokemon as you can get your hands on and offers you one that you don't have to battle to add to your collection. Of course you jump at the opportunity, only to learn that it's only ability is useless. Then you get the Old Rod and learn just how common and easy to catch Magikarp actually is. However, if you commit to it and help that little flounder grow, it becomes one of the strongest monsters in the game. It's just brilliant from start to finish and the happy ending doesn't make it any less of a genius prank.
Eh, Kid Icarus Uprising should've still had a spot on the list. Unlike Donkey Kong Country, the plot twist involves you getting completely tricked over and more than half of the game is afterwards, making what you thought was the final boss, just another boss in the game, and it was amazing.
Not to mention things like Pandora's realm, Mimicuties, Hades, Fake Palutena... and heck, concepts like the eggplant wizard and the plutons.... the series is just trolls all over.
***** The game is filled with trolls, but the plot twist involving Hades is by far the biggest, and that's one of the reasons it's one of my favorite games of all time.
About the White Sidequest: You actually SEE HIM ENTER THE HOUSE while you're talking to the other Bob-bomb, and yet the game will never let you in there. And people say the later games were evil.
That number 2 actually got me in *Bravely Second's final boss fight.* When the cursor was about to delete my entire save files. I stopped right there and went to check UA-cam for the same moment to make sure that "it was supposed to happen" and that your save files are safe (because boy oh boy if my save files were deleted for real, I would've broken the game in-half and given it a 0/10 in that scenario). lol
the worst part about the Infinite staircase is when you finally figure out that you can't go up it. you feel as though you've been running forever, but when you turn around, you see that you actually didn't go anywhere at all
A newer troll moment. K.Rool's reveal trailer for Smash Ultimate where at first it was Dedede in disguise and he straight-up laughs at DK and by extension the audience.
There's a hilarious troll moment in the first zoo tycoon. One of the tutorials tells you to delete a section of fence in the lion enclosure, then it repremands you for doing so, something along the lines of "what were you thinking? Well, let this be a lesson to you, don't delete enclosure fencing unless you enjoy seeing your guests flee in terror 😂
They weren't in-game trolls, per se, but Sakurai certainly had his fair share of trolling moments with the Smash Bros series: -Ridley's appearance in the Melee intro and the number of confusing hints Sakurai gave about his inclusion during both Brawl and Smash 4's development -"There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now, and Lucas is very similar." There's ALMOST enough for a top ten here but not quite.
Before the Number 1 on this list, my biggest troll moment was in Ocarina of Time 3D's Master Quest Gerudo Training Grounds where the game flat out calls you a loser for opening the wrong chest. It somehow felt WORSE than getting a Rupoor.
Apparently, the April 1999 issue of Nintendo Power had a fake guide for evolving Lickitung into Luigi in Red and Blue. It's just as absurd as all the methods to get Pikablu, Mewthee, ect that kids made up at the time, and I love it
7:37 Skylanders: SuperChargers does something similar... and it's actually really clever how they pull it off. I won't explain it, but it's worth looking into.
The 100 star present has to be my favorite, when my sister got it she was so betrayed cause we saw it whenever we got bowser, and thought it was an instal-win
I remember Bravely Second pulling that same prank with the save file data. And they had to do it during the fight with the FINAL BOSS. I remember watching my cursor move to the delete, and gasping, "No... you wouldn't...!" Heh. It was a pretty good joke, though.
the fake credits in Donkey Kong Country is even more convincing in the GBC version. Because the music actually changes, instead of continuing the battle music
The Bowser Gift troll was amazing for me. I was playing MP10 with a friend on Bowser's Castle and we were right at the end. I was only barely ahead but I was mortified when I landed on a Bowser space. The wheel spun and landed right on the 100 star present. And I just burst out laughing while my friend was shocked that that actually just happened. And because of that, I won the game by around 5 stars.
I think the best troll sanity effect in Eternal Darkness has to be the "You have completed the demo" screen. It got me SO bad. I thought I bought the wrong game! Or that this was a bootleg copy and I was about to experience a legit Nintendo creepypasta (I always knew Sonic.exe was real!) There are a few other great troll sanity effects in that game, like the fake boss fountain. You're surrounded by infinite shotgun ammo, but your character exists in ancient Persia or something, so shotguns haven't been invented yet.
Awesome video! Great content as always! P.S. One of the worst trolls was from Super Mario Bros the Lost Levels, where one of the warp zones in world 3 would only send you back to world one. Why Nintendo?!
In Zelda phantom hourglass there is this one guy who is literally a troll.... You save him from monsters and he is like oh yes I should give you something he says thank you... I mean "thank you" seriously😂😂😂😂 Also in phantom hourglass there is this competition you send in postcards through the post and see if you win Generally they will say you lost and give you 5 rupees as consolation And if you win it's like congratulations you won And that's it no prize So basically if you lose you get more than if you win
actually in pokemon uranium there is a similar guy like the first guy. he cries because people stole something from him and you have to defeat the people who stole him. after you give him his money back. he basically says just thank you, and if you talk to him again he says "get out of my house or i call the police" or something like that. apparently he was a spoiled child with lots of money, and the dudes who stole him were said to do good with the money you stole him, so the entire quest is kind of a troll.
so that means the entire comment section is bound to talk about nintendo trolls and that means i am not allowed to say "oh, that is funny. i played another game which actually did the same thing painted in green" just because it is not by nintendo.
I'm so sorry by how rude I acted, when I wrote my first comment it was 2 in the morning and I was exhausted and so I couldn't think clearly. As for my second comment,I was flustered and tried to defend myself.Heck,I have even deleted it already so,are we cool?.
Well obviously, one of the greatest trolls is in Kirby's return to Dreamland where your about to get the last piece for the Starcutter but all of a sudden the Grand Doomer eats it. Then you have to go through the second longest boss fight in the game in order to get it back from him.
nintendo programmer:boss, what kind of reward should we grant for the korok seed side quest? Hidemaro Fujibayashi:how many korok seeds will there be? nintendo programmer:900 sir. Hidemaro Fujibayashi:well, crap. nintendo programmer:you got it, boss! Hidemaro Fujibayashi:what?
yeah kid icarus is super trolly. SPOILERS AHEAD so after beating medusa, who is supposedly the final boss who you've worked super hard to beat, and then the credits start to play BUT THEN a hand rips through the credits and Hades says "OH YEAH IM THE REAL BOSS" and then theres like 20 more levels. Then after the final final credits if u wait 5 minutes hades' voice comes up, talks for a bit, breaks the fourth wall, referenes the old games and says " im here to delete ur save file. 1 2 3 GONE!!!!!!!!!" then the screen goes black for a few seconds. But then hades is like "NAH< ITS JUST BANTZ TROLOLOLOLOL" So that makes 2 credits trolls in one game.
I miss Beelde form Zelda the Windwaker. You buy and buy at his shop until you get enough point to get his gift. You get a card. You earned soo hard.... and then.... "I appriciad you" AGRGHHHHH
My question with Hestu...had he had it for ages to give to you? Or does he make it as soon as you give the final seed? The mystery will be forever unknown
Kevin Tan Also Lana's trial... I mean, she tries to lie to you the whole way, while she's tricking you into entering her trial... Even though you were going to do her trial anyway
The Look-alike items in general could be on here. How 'bout that Oren berry, eh? Or the Dropeye Seed? And the less said for the Wander Gummi, the better. There's also some positive ones...that'll try and ease your guard and have you potentially use their real-but-negative counterparts, like the Dough seed, look-alike for the Doom seed.
If you break 500 (or 1,000, I forget) signs in Zelda Oracle of Seasons and talk to a Subrosia that loves signs, he'll be so angry that he shows the Nintendo and Capcom logos, just like it would when you turn on the game, just to scare you. It worked for me lol
KI:U was my second Nintendo troll: oh, you killed the big bad? NOPE HAHA My first was Resetti and he scared me so much I didn't touch my AC game for two years ;-; I was 8 and we hadn't played our DS in ages, so he was like "DID YU FORGET ME" and he went on and on until I vowed not to touch my old save file and turned the thing off
Man, the Resetti trolling doesn't even stop there: sometimes his (nicer) brother visits, sometimes he pretends to reset the game and erase your data (like Eternal Darkness!), and don't even think about visiting another town without saving... *shudder*
Gotta love Sleep Kirby as well. When I first played Adventure, I wanted to swallow every enemy in the game to see what I get. It was cool then... Sleep. :P
I always liked the start of Paper Mario where Bowser just pulls out the Star Rod and becomes invincible. Hopeless boss fights are always a nasty surprise. Props go to Vile from Mega Man X1 for giving us two of them.
[Warning: This spoils Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. IDK why I'm talking in brackets.] My number one is the "collapse of timespace." That's just Luigi hanging his head in defeat.
My favourite nintendo troll is map 17 in super paper mario. You spend a lot of money on an expensive map, go through all of merlee's mansion and get rewarded with a dried shroom. Ultimate troll!
Rhyme Bito If you complete this VERY tedious sidequest you will not be happy about your reward...since it's a VERY tedious sidequest, most people don't complete it anyway, but in case you want to complete everything you may consider completing this particular sidequest...cause it's just not worth it, at all!
Similar to Mr.Resetti, there's a Bob-omb character in Paper Mario TTYD that runs a daily lotto in West Rogueport. If you turn the Gamecube's clock (it might work with the Wii too) to the next day to get another shot at the lotto, he ultrarages and then penalizes you, making you pay 500 coins before being able to draw again.
Not even a mention of Eternal Darkness's fake blue screen of death? That got my heart racing in panic, at least as much as the "delete all game saves" gimmick.
Aw. No mention of EarthBound. That game is full of troll moments. Police blocking the way to beat a world record, who's the 3rd strongest Mole, a guy who gives you a smelly sock for finding his Grandma's.... .... Sorry I'm rambling.
Surprised Kaepora Gaebora from Ocarina of Time wasn't on here. I never had to experience him in a bad way, but I've heard of people just A-mashing through his dialogue and ending up repeating all of his text again. Especially that music, just taunting you while you do it.
Another troll moment? Ocarina of Time's running man. Game lets you think at first you can beat him easily, but nope, he always beats you by a second. And it's impossible to beat him, no tricks, gameshark codes, even Miyamoto admitted it's impossible.
SheosMan117 you're right I used the longshot and epona to get to the lost woods and I still got beat by 1 second
Why not teleport
@@KittyCatViolet379 Even if you cheese the system as hard as you can (I think you can freeze the timer by exploiting using warp songs but not actually warping) and get to the lost woods with a literal clock time of zero seconds you still lose. That's such a long and trippy cutscene
My favorite nintedo troll moment is when Beedle gives you your customer appreciation gift in wind waker.
"I APPRECIATE YOU"
It is a full health recovery, but yeah, pretty trollish, Nintendo.
From buddyfight?
Another ridiculous blocked pathway in Pokemon is the Lumiose City "blackout" where you can clearly see the lights are on
And the wandering bystander NPCs that can just walk right past the guards that stop you.
The Everstone Haunter better be on here.
EDIT:WOT
Why isn't it on here
+Jackie TSG to be fair, that Haunter was still more usefull than any medicham
+Jackie TSG if set up under the right conditions, it might be alright. But that haunter was still great without needing to be set up
fireassassin123 Until his ability got replaced, anyway.
+Noah Schneider what are you talking about? Haunter still has Levitate. It loses Levitate when it becomes Gengar
ElectrifyingElectivire everyone haunter? Wats dat? Someone pls tell me.
Man with shiny Exeggcute says he's gonna give you something nice, gives you nuggets...
AntonyPancake They are nice after all.
Thumbs-up for rockin' the Cesar Romero. :D

AntonyPancake you can get a ton of money though...
Come to think of it, Mario & Luigi Super Star Saga's plot was pretty much all a troll.
Yeah...
Also, *Tolstar*
Da Nintendude He is a troll. Literally.
Noah & Toad
After that storyline, I have fawful amounts of fury.
Pokemon Sun and Moon. "Oh, could you check that pool for me? And that one? What about that one? BTW, you just passed through the trail gates. Good luck!"
GleamEyes lol
and the whole Fire Trail

I know, right? I only survived because it used Soak on my Butterfree, reducing the damage she took. It basically one-shotted my Magnemite!
No Magikarp merchant from Red and Blue? I'm deeply disappointed. That was a brilliant emotional roller-coaster that even the anime felt the need to recreate it.
Yeah the merchant promised you a ferocious beast but gave you a god instead, the best kind of trolling.
About the White Sidequest:
You actually SEE HIM ENTER THE HOUSE while you're talking to the other Bob-bomb, and yet the game will never let you in there.
And people say the later games were evil.
In Animal Crossing City Folk, my game would occasionally crash, which forced me to have to unplug then replug my Wii... Mr. Resetti knows no mercy...
I once played that game during a thunderstorm and my power shut off.

BDZB Comics The Final Presentation
Actually Rosalinas trailer started like a kirby game trailer....
The biggest smash troll is playing Meta Knight in Brawl
When he used Substitute during one of the Directs.
Dedede disguising himself as King K rool and fooling not only DK and diddy, but the entire fandom
I just want Nintendo to release an ad for "Pokemon stars on the Nintendo switch" and have it be a rick roll or something
Hetsu's gift is arguably the biggest middle finger to all completionist that ever is, was, and will be.
Before the Number 1 on this list, my biggest troll moment was in Ocarina of Time 3D's Master Quest Gerudo Training Grounds where the game flat out calls you a loser for opening the wrong chest. It somehow felt WORSE than getting a Rupoor.

And THAAAAATS kinda rude actually...
Apparently, the April 1999 issue of Nintendo Power had a fake guide for evolving Lickitung into Luigi in Red and Blue. It's just as absurd as all the methods to get Pikablu, Mewthee, ect that kids made up at the time, and I love it
The reason that Super Mario Bros. doesn't let you move left, is that if you did go left, you'd actually find Castle 8.

I remember Bravely Second pulling that same prank with the save file data. And they had to do it during the fight with the FINAL BOSS. I remember watching my cursor move to the delete, and gasping, "No... you wouldn't...!"
Heh. It was a pretty good joke, though.
Toad: sorry Mario the princess is in another castle....
Mario: I'm not here for the princess toad
*toad blushed*
the fake credits in Donkey Kong Country is even more convincing in the GBC version. Because the music actually changes, instead of continuing the battle music
I remember in banjo kazooie that if you entered a cheat 3 times grunty would delete your save file.
and she wasn't trolling you.
I'm surprised that when you were talking about "your princess is in another castle", you didn't mention Super Mario Bros. 3
The #1 Nintendo troll moment is Reggie saying there will be no Nintendo Switch stock issues.
The Bowser Gift troll was amazing for me. I was playing MP10 with a friend on Bowser's Castle and we were right at the end. I would guess that mimikuties from Kid Icarus Uprising also share a spot with the Chozos?
It's not as much of a unique mimic I guess.
Nice screaming Danny you got there
On "The Princess is in another castle" you forgot to mention that Toad is also double flipping the bird at you

Now you know everyone will ask for Top 10 Nintendo Poops until you finally do it in another April Fool's day, right?
good job including the staircase from Mario 64
9:45. Wait...bravely second did that too. And more. That f**king game trolled me so hard so much.
This is how to do an April fools video
BoTW scared the crap out of me when Purah tries to delete all the runes.
What about the fake upside down item box in Mario kart? That's a troll job and a half!
I've always loved that item. Shame it was removed from the later games.
Especially if you time the drop just right so it's hidden among the regular item boxes. Love doing that during battles XD
RV well, the one in mk Wii was really obvious, but the one on ds, ya

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem...still one of my top 10 games. So much fun.
twilight princess looking for the room key and just finding pumpkins and other soup ingredients is something that really got to me while playing it
My question with Hestu...had he had it for ages to give to you? Or does he make it as soon as you give the final seed? The mystery will be forever unknown
The General White quest will always be the most tedious thing I've ever done in a Mario game :/
How about Kiawe's trial?
yup
it was funny
I found it hilarious and replayed it for the laughs
Kevin Tan Also Lana's trial... I mean, she tries to lie to you the whole way, while she's tricking you into entering her trial... Even though you were going to do her trial anyway
What about the Grand Doomer in Kirby's Return to Dreamland?
That was a GIANT troll.
What about Pokémon mystery dung-eon's (eh?) reviser seeds?
The Look-alike items in general could be on here. How 'bout that Oren berry, eh? Or the Dropeye Seed? And the less said for the Wander Gummi, the better.
There's also some positive ones...that'll try and ease your guard and have you potentially use their real-but-negative counterparts, like the Dough seed, look-alike for the Doom seed.
I haven't played explorers of sky, but darkness instead. Therefore I could play as Munchlax and not throw reviser seeds at dialga.
You put that dash to reference Korok seeds, didn't you?
If you break 500 (or 1,000, I forget) signs in Zelda Oracle of Seasons and talk to a Subrosia that loves signs, he'll be so angry that he shows the Nintendo and Capcom logos, just like it would when you turn on the game, just to scare you.
It worked for me lol
KI:U was my second Nintendo troll: oh, you killed the big bad? NOPE HAHA
My first was Resetti and he scared me so much I didn't touch my AC game for two years ;-; I was 8 and we hadn't played our DS in ages, so he was like "DID YU FORGET ME" and he went on and on until I vowed not to touch my old save file and turned the thing off
Man, the Resetti trolling doesn't even stop there: sometimes his (nicer) brother visits, sometimes he pretends to reset the game and erase your data (like Eternal Darkness!), and don't even think about visiting another town without saving... *shudder*
The biggest nintendo troll? Not putting the battle frontier in ORAS, duh.
Gotta love Sleep Kirby as well. When I first played Adventure, I wanted to swallow every enemy in the game to see what I get. It was cool then... Sleep. :P
the lack of background music is unsettling in its own right
Xylon73 There actually is background music. It's just hard to hear, that's all.
I always liked the start of Paper Mario where Bowser just pulls out the Star Rod and becomes invincible. Hopeless boss fights are always a nasty surprise. Props go to Vile from Mega Man X1 for giving us two of them.
Sakurai is the biggest Nintendo troll.
[Warning: This spoils Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. IDK why I'm talking in brackets.]
My number one is the "collapse of timespace."
That's just Luigi hanging his head in defeat.
Last time I came here the comments section was disabled, is this a April Fools joke too?
He enabled comments a while ago
#1 Troll
Getting hit by a blue shell on the last straightaway and getting last
#1: Breath of the Wild.
Nope. Nu-uh. Not watching this. No way.
Zelenal
I paused when BotW showed up. I don't have it yet and I'm avoiding spoilers.
Zelenal I stupidly watched it
ehh
It's not likely that you'll experience it since it's very tedious. I don't plan on fulfilling the requirement to see it myself.
if you're not planing on completing a VERY VERY tedious sidequest, you can watch it
Zelenal whats so special about Breath Of The Wild?
Surprised you didn't mention the Earthbound DRM. Seriously, that's the type of DRM I can actually respect.
What about the Giant's Knife from Ocarina of Time?
Yah the one that breaks lol
My favourite nintendo troll is map 17 in super paper mario. You spend a lot of money on an expensive map, go through all of merlee's mansion and get rewarded with a dried shroom. Ultimate troll!
Did anyone else see the hidden troll face at 11:19?
OHMYGOOOOOODDDDDDUH
You troll :D
Coltranepop get rekt homie
god. dangit.
Me: I'll just watch the whole video
JWittz: Breath of the Wi-
Me: NOPE!
*Exits out*
Skipped the last one because I don't want spoilers.
Certainly worth getting spoiled on this one.
Rhyme Bito Are you sure? I also skipped it to avoid spoilers...
Rhyme Bito
If you complete this VERY tedious sidequest you will not be happy about your reward...since it's a VERY tedious sidequest, most people don't complete it anyway, but in case you want to complete everything you may consider completing this particular sidequest...cause it's just not worth it, at all!
Let's just say, even if you're a completionist, don't bother actively seeking out parts of the collectathon in BOTW.
louisng114 what an idiot,if you didn't want spoilers WHY ARE YOU ON HERE THEN???!!!! IT'S YOUR FAULT,STOP BLAMING PEOPLE FOR SOMETHING YOU CLICKED ON
When I got the 100 star present I thought bowser would take all of the stars from the players and give it to himself.
The Mario 64 piano
Similar to Mr.Resetti, there's a Bob-omb character in Paper Mario TTYD that runs a daily lotto in West Rogueport. If you turn the Gamecube's clock (it might work with the Wii too) to the next day to get another shot at the lotto, he ultrarages and then penalizes you, making you pay 500 coins before being able to draw again.
What about Goldeen coming out of a Poke Ball in smash bros????
*Master Ball
Not even a mention of Eternal Darkness's fake blue screen of death? That got my heart racing in panic, at least as much as the "delete all game saves" gimmick.
How did you never land on the 100-star present? I land on there extremely often
Also, you could beat donkey kong country at age 5?
Aw. No mention of EarthBound. That game is full of troll moments.
Police blocking the way to beat a world record, who's the 3rd strongest Mole, a guy who gives you a smelly sock for finding his Grandma's....
.... Sorry I'm rambling.
if the Haunter trade isnt on the list...
This is probably my favorite video of yours, great job!
I hate April Fool's. It's giving me some serious trust issues with everyone I come across. O.o
Surprised Kaepora Gaebora from Ocarina of Time wasn't on here.
I never had to experience him in a bad way, but I've heard of people just A-mashing through his dialogue and ending up repeating all of his text again.
Especially that music, just taunting you while you do it.
