That was basically me trying to use Kinect voice commands for Skyrim. You were supposed to be able to say the dragon shouts and they would happen in game, but nothing ever happened.

@@jonathann.5754 I think Zelda could be considered a little hit or miss, depending on who you ask. I personally can't stand most of the 2D Zelda's, though I love all the 3D ones. Some people didn't like the aesthetic of Wind Waker, others didn't like the time mechanics/restrictions of Majora's Mask, some didn't like how dark Twilight Princess was, and others didn't like motion controls of Skyward Sword. Even BotW, some people didn't like the lack of story.
But you can't please everyone, I suppose.

Nintendo has been having something of a renaissance. I'm more hopeful to see a return to form than I have been in years.

Man, I think that was the only time I've ever seen Chuggaaconroy genuinely angry.
Fire Emblem Warriors. I'd loved Hyrule Warriors and was so excited for FEW, but it was just so bland. They took away the things that made HW interesting and replaced it with the character switching mechanic that just made the game more tedious, meanwhile the characters only had one weapon and most of them shared a moveset with someone else. The roster could've been a highlight with characters from all across the series, but instead it's almost entirely Awakening and Fates with only three other games of the remaining 13 seeing any representation whatsoever.

To be fair, it is really short. Fun, but short.
You nailed the #1 pick. I remember struggling with the first boss, only to look up a guide and learn that I HAD to grab the fan sticker in order to win. At that point I knew the game was trash. To add insult to injury were the interview about the game where they pretty much dashed all hopes of returning Paper Mario to its OG format.
On a separate note: I actually enjoyed Other M. The story or dialogue were bad, but I thought the game itself was fun

I expected some spicy takes, but I actually ended up agreeing with a majority of your choices! 1-2 Switch felt like a glorified shovelware title, and the fact that they had the gall to charge $60 for it rather than bundling it with the Switch...ha!
As for Metroid Other M...it’s a decent action game, but my god doesn’t it butcher Samus’s character and leave a dark stain on an otherwise great franchise.
Anyways, one of my own most disappointed Nintendo games is Fire Emblem Warriors. After how solid and great Hyrule Warriors was, I was at least expecting FE Warriors to *somewhat* live up to it. But after having a shallow roster that doesn’t even cover a third of the games in the series, locking NPCs behind DLC and making said DLC only have *more* characters from the same games, it really left a sour taste in my mouth. Doesn’t help that most of the characters are copy-pasted derivatives of eachother, as if this game took a page outta Smash but cranked it up to an 11.
It’s a shame too, because this game mixes together Musou gameplay and FE mechanics so well and has tons of replay value due to all the weapons and armors you can unlock. But like I said in my review of it on IG, it’s an amazing game hidden behind a dev team that had little to no passion for what they were doing...
It's funny (or sad) with 1-2 Switch because Nintendo is laughing all the way to the bank with that one. It's sold over 2 million copies so it definitely has made quite the profit considering that the game probably didn't even have a production budget over $10,000.

I think around the time dark moon came and link between world came out, the 3ds got itself out of the rut it was in. I did quite enjoy dark moon but I think it is what caused my old 3ds circle pad too be not as stable.

I got a 3ds day one for my birthday. Had 1 game for a year, bought Sticker Star and thought it was painfully average. Marvel vs Capcom Infinite taught me disappointment though.

@@nathanmead140 I didn't even watch most of the MCU by that point. I just liked past entries. MvC 2 is one of my favorite fighting games. And the little I played of 3 was good.

I bought Luigi's Mansion on the 3DS and had a good time at first, but after a while I started to question how in god's name Nintendo expected you to aim using the little nub of a C-stick the system has. It became frustrating not being able to react to things in time because of that. Could have benefited from a Zelda-esque targeting system.

Regarding #7: Is it a bad sign that Starlink for Switch feels like a better Starfox game than Starfox Zero? Heck, it was already a better planet exploration game than No Man's Lie...
Regarding #3: Am I the only one who thinks this would've been a better game if the story was removed/rewritten? Seriously...those up close attacks were AWESOME! I would've loved to fight some Prime bosses with that control scheme!
Regarding #1: I am reminded of some lines from one of joshscorcher's vids...about the creation of Mimi from Super Paper Mario and wondering whether Miamoto was high or something when he came up with her. "Noooooooooo...it's good! Wait...is that a sticker? I HAVE AN IDEA!" (several months later) "I came up with WHAT?!?"
While it's still relatively fresh, there's a reason that when Samus was put in Joker's Clssic mode, they used Mass Destruction.

Starfox Zero :'( I really enjoyed your Interview with Shigeru Miyamoto. I do hope they try Starfox again when they are ready and get it right. At least Starlink was fun.
I feel it's worth noting that Team Ninja isn't responsible for the stupider of the decisions in Other M, as they're often unfairly attributed with. Sakamoto had full creative control, and was behind things like Wii-Mote only controls and Samus sounding wooden in the English version.

To be fair, the fact that more than half of the games on this list are still really good is a positive statement on Nintendo's track record.
I don't know, Luigi's Mansion is probably the only game in here that is good, and maybe StarFox Zero and Other M if you don't care about story or controls, the rest of the games are trash.

Fun story: When I was in college in 2006 my roommate won the lottery at the local Walmart to buy a Wii on release day. I went with him. He had preordered Twilight Princess, but he wanted a second game. He wanted Red Steel. I wasn't very well read about the Wii at the time, so I literally knew NOTHING about any Wii games besides Twilight Princess at the time. I remember looking at the back of Red Steel and thinking, "yeah, this looks cool," but then I picked up Okami, looked at the back of the case and thought, "Wow, this game looks REALLY fun," so I tried to convince him to buy Okami instead, but he wouldn't have any of it. Like you, I was quickly disillusioned about the state of motion controls from playing Red Steel, and my roommate couldn't bring himself to finish it (although, for no apparent reason I did, but whatever). Years later, after getting my own Wii system, I found Okami on sale cheap at a Pawn Shop. OKAMI IS SUPER-FUN AND AWESOME, as it turned out, and now all these years later I still talk to my old roommate from time-to-time, and I give him a bunch of crap for not listening me when I told him he should've bought Okami instead of Red Steel on release day.
Just thought I would throw that out there.

Doesn't help that they essentially repeated the same mistake with color splash thinking that sticker star was well received.
Sticker star being number 1 is probably one of the most relevant picks in a top ten I've seen; "Yay I beat the boss, oh I have to beat it again because I didn't use the special item? forget it!"

Videos like this are always interesting. Not only is it kind of nice to commiserate with people on mutual grievances, but also lists like this always bring up things you've never even heard of. I completely forgot that 1, 2, Switch existed, and I'd never even heard of Mario Party 100.
For me it’s Pokémon X and Y. The whole game felt soulless and way too easy with the weakest post game since Ruby and Sapphire. I found mega evolutions wasn’t given to the right Pokémon as most were already powerful. While Pokémon that could actually benift from Megas (ones that were weak but their evolution method made it impossible to give them actual evolutions) like Decatty, Raichu and Sunflora were passed over. And the abysmal story was accentuated as it was coming off the heals of Generation V which had made great strides in the series’ stories. Thankful most of my issues were fixed in ORAS and Sun and Moon
Ilitterally couldn't be disappointed with it seeing as how it was my first pokemon game lol I don't find it as bad ws some say but what do you mean by 'heals of gen V'? that sounds like series was damaged or something and gen V fixed it

You had expectations for that game? Even as a hardcore Pokemon fanboy during the DS era, Pokemon Dash just looked like filler from the start for me.

@@ToiletPkay The difference was, Mystery Dungeon looked more interesting in general even from the commercials. Like a full-fledged game rather than a glorified minigame like Dash or Trozei.
You call Overcooked 2 accessible, but whenever we play it I literally become Gordon Ramsay screaming at the top of my lungs.

Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, took the best story in Pokemon, removed all of Lillie's fantastic development, turned Lusamine from a Gendo Ikari abusive parent to misunderstood scientist, all to take a great story about trauma from abusive parenting and replace it with a boring generic stop the evil legendary plot. It also made both the anime and manga worse too for trying to fit in the Ultra stuff instead of sticking to the original.
Not just my favorite video of yours in a long time, but my favorite gaming countdown period in a long time.

Metroid Other M was fantastic though, no idea why people are so needlessly negative about it. Just cause it's not Prime nor Super Metroid/Fusion doesn't make it a bad game.
In fact, it makes it a great experiment and one that tackles Metroid's biggest shortcoming: character development.
It gets a 10/10 from me.
@Trujillo 2020 I honestly do not agree with the assessment that Other M isn't a good Metroid game.
But yeah, opinions I guess...
gojira4life Idk about you, but I’d take a badass and wordless Samus over an annoying and emotional Samus that narrates every second of the game any day of the week.

I am content living with the fact that in one game she's a wordless badass and in the other she's a badass with some humanity to her.
You can have both, believe it or not.
gojira4life See, the main problem I have with Samus’s portrayal in Other M is that it entirely retcons how she’s acted in other games. If this was a younger, more inexperienced Samus who had yet to get much combat experience, then I’d be able to buy it. But for a Samus that’s been through all the 2D Metroid games besides Fusion and the three Prime games to be done in by an ice blast to the back, have seperation anxiety with a Metroid she barely spent any time with, have an inferiority complex to a guy that’s ten times less the person she is and have a random PTSD panic attack at seeing Ridley despite doing him in without batting an eye countless times?
Yeah I definitely don’t buy it.

I’m surprised Fire Emblem Fates wasn’t on here. The Conquest pathway has amazing gameplay, the music is great, and some of the characters are good. But oh god everything else is very eh

I genuinely feel bad for the Paper Mario fans for what happened with sticker star.
Hurts only because I'm the grand total of 1 person who likes Sticker Star

I mean, it's an above average game, but compared to other entries...
It was alright.
Anybody who claims they are a fan of Paper Mario, but says their favourite title in the series is Sticker Star will be crucified on the spot, however.
Sadly the only two titles in the series I have ever played are Super Paper Mario and Sticker Star, and I (thankfully) prefer Super Paper Mario.

I remember hearing about 1-2 Switch and thought "That's really neat, can't wait to check it out". But then that was followed by "Oh, it doesn't come included with the Switch??? It costs an extra $50??? NOPE!!!" Have not touched it and probably never will.....
Not gonna lie, Mario Party Top 100 is good for one thing and one thing only.
Get a giant piece of cardboard. Draw on it. Paint it. Color it. Add squares. Connect those squares to make paths. Make branching paths. Make some of those squares red. Make some blue. Decorate the board with stuff. Add green squares in front of important looking decorations. Ok I've drawn this out long enough, you know EXACTLY what I'm insinuating by now. That's right. Yoshi's Crafted Party with minigames using top 100 for the minigames only.
Is it bad that Kirby Planet Robobot made a better Star Fox game for a small part of the game :p
