That was a super fun episode. I really thought Mega Man was gonna take it on sheer versatility, but Mario beating up a sun *is* pretty ridiculous.

Mario winning in vs shows now-a-days are really hard and rare to find…
That sun feat, while questionable, makes me realize Mario was even more ridiculous back then. Before the explanation that he was a star child that possessed this power and beyond, in the 80s he was just some guy that’s just… able to pull stupidly strong feats like this.
This was such a fun episode! I loved seeing their power ups bounce off each other and use their nes abilities and powers against each other
The animation had zero problems. This was really good. Granted, I have almost nothing to compare it to because I haven’t seen all but two episodes of this so far and this is the second. This was a great episode.
Awesome battle. I really loved the rules of only using the NES versions. Not just from 1 game, but from a couple of their NES game feats.
And seeing Mario win is based.
Of course Mario was going to win, he is the king of NES.
Man, the nes commercials were something else. But the ruleset is very interesting, and I found myself engaged through out the video. Amazing job like always.
You know what would've been insane? If this matchup featured 4 more classic NES characters. Samus, Bill Rizer, Ryu Hayabusa and Jason Frudnick/sophia III. Just to pay homage to a nostalgic flash game
I still think the sun feat from Mario 3 still doesn’t make sense. Wouldn’t the shell Mario kicks at it be destroyed? Just because it’s called the sun doesn’t mean it has the energy of a star. It’s called the sun just because it looks kind of like the sun. They also said that Mario 3 being a stage play is only a fan theory. That’s actually not true because it’s been confirmed it was a stage play. Another thing is at they didn’t use any evidence to suggest those lasers that MegaMan dodgers are lightspeed. We can’t just assume they are light speed because MegaMan dodges it while falling and objects don’t fall at the speed of light.
I always thought the stage play thing was just asthstetics.
God I love arguments like this. I’ve thought of fights and scenarios like this before and I’m overjoyed someone else has as well.
This episode gives me hope that Luigi can beat simon in smash bracket. I don't know any of Simon's feats

I walked into this episode guessing that Simon would win. After finishing their analysis I already knew that Simon would be last and Mario would probably take it. Really good episode with an interesting concept
Next time idk who to bet since my only exposure to both is threw their video games and even then idrk who wins threw games. I would probably guess on Eric since from what I saw he deals with more chaotic and wacky stuff but I’m not sure

It's too obvious Mario was gonna win this. Even in the NES games, which is far from how developed Super Mario games are now he still has an insane amount of durability, and can take hits from his enemies. The short Italian plumber retains his crown as Mr. King Of Video Games.❤💙⭐🔥

I'm hyped for the next time, but if I'm being honest, I'm always hype for it
I disagree with the outcome. That SMB3 sun feat is really fallacious and raises a lot of questions, especially when you give it some thought and consider how contradictory it is to being an actual star. It's just a standard enemy called the sun that can be killed by a Koopa shell and apparently it's death doesn't cause a supernova, day to become night, etc. So yeah, not buying that at all. If we're using NES limitations and mechanics, Mega Man should've definitely won imo.
Other than that, this was a good episode in terms of quality and the theme of using the NES games, mechanics and limitations for the characters made this a fun retro battle royale that I don't think anyone's done before. Well done.
Overall this episode is fine, the best part is the analysis its genuinely one of the funniest analysis of the season, the fight was alright nothing special. Overall decent episode i would give it a 6/10

In my overall opinion this was a pretty good episode, the analysis was fun and I initially thought mega man would win but after hearing about what Mario could do I knew that things would be different still it was a good episode and you guys did a good job with it.
As for the next match the verdict would for me would be based on whether you use the South Park games like stick of truth or the fractured but whole cause if you do then Cartman would win but if not then probably bart if he can scale to homer.
But not a complete stomp

This was a fun episode, as usual with the channel, along with a very fun concept, but I can't believe I'm going to say I disagree with an episode on the channel for once.
And that's entirely because of the argument that the Angry Sun is comparable in heat to, you know, an actual star, when the only thing that supports that notion is the name.
It's very clear this isn't the actual sun in the Marioverse, as the other level it appears in Super Mario Bros. 3, 8-2, is pretty blatantly a night level. That alone should put into question if it is actually a star at all, let alone produce the same heat as one. That's especially when, in the NES games, lava consistently takes out Mario regardless of power-ups. Argue game mechanics or not, but when the main numbers of TNT are coming from surviving heat and Mario is taken out handily by something significantly colder, there's just too much uncertainty and nothing solid in the slightest to support the Angry Sun having the same heat as an actual celestial body.
If Mario had other reasons for winning besides a very questionable feat, then I would have less of an issue with how the episode ended, but it was literally the only reason given why he won and placed as he does.
At the end of the day, it's still a very fun experimental episode, but it fumbles a lot at the end for me.
But that next time though, hell yeah, really looking forward to that one.
First off, awesome work with the fight and research as always. While I'm not sure I completely agree with the verdict, I'm still satisfied none-the-less. Though good luck with the next fight... you'll need a LOT of patience for that abundance of research.

Honestly, I'm not sure about Mario being able to destroy the sun. It seems a bit sketchy to me. For all we know Mario never destroyed the sun in the first place. Even in newer games I'm not sure if Mario should be put on that level. The only valid reason Mario would be put on that scale would be that he's defeated Bowser, but that's mainly because Mario is smarter and faster than him.

I'm sorry. But why exactly Simon? Wouldn't it be a way better fight if you used Samus aran? Super Metroid is one of the top choices for the NES series games and would have been a nice touch on using her to fight megaman. Simon is just...a literal man with a whip. He's killed dracula sure I'll give him that but other than that? He's just...a man and only a man. Mario has all kinds of power ups, Link is a master swordsman with an indestructible shield that can deflect projectiles, Megaman is a robot boy with an arm cannon and crazy powerful power ups, and we got...Simon. a character who has holy weapons that only hurt A. the undead and B. Vampires. He's 100% going to die first I'm calling it now

1. Metroid only has one NES game. These are pretty much the biggest series on the NES. Aside from the Ninja Turtles, I guess. 2. Three Nintendo’s and one CAPCOM would be odd.

And for the next battle, as a huge fan of both SP and the simpsons, Im gonna go with bart. I think Eric is only smasrter (for obvious reasons) and more durable (because of the forest explosion: ua-cam.com/video/n44k02XkB74/v-deo.html ) but Bart pretty mutch takes everthing else. I mean even if Eric takes those 2 cateories, bart its actually pretty intelligent at the moment of making elaborated pranks and to presuade other people, he got milatry and several martial arts experience, and we shouldnt forget the ¨telepathic powers¨ that he possess. We can scale him to Milhouse who was fast enough to ran faster than a giant solar laser (ua-cam.com/video/jFvuPMMWzWs/v-deo.html) and who outrun a car and survived a big fall from a waterfall (ua-cam.com/video/8oCQXBkD1Fc/v-deo.html) . And thats only if we are talking about base forms.
