Definitely some great tips I can use. I bowl one league a week and usually go practice weekly (life permitting) and usually try to work on something I am not super comfortable with. I am gonna try using some of these drills during my weekly league and my weekly practice. I think my next thing might be giving the ball some loft. I do not usually do that, but this past league I hit a pretty rough patch second game where my ball started to overhook and forced me very far left (more than I am comfortable with).
Thanks for the tip on what to do with the first shot. I bowl in a league in which we get just 5 minutes of practice. With six people on each pair of lanes, I usually get 3-4 shots, and since we're bowling the same pattern (46-ft house shot, 10-1 ratio), I try to get lined up from shot 1. But I'll try what you said - first shot to the right to figure out friction.
I bowl a 5 person on a team league, and I might get one or two full racks in practice as each person is throwing 1 ball. We don't cycle the pin spotter when they don't strike in order to keep things moving quickly. I use this same routine. Luckily, I know my house and my starting position rarely ever changes.
During practice, I try to shoot for the 10 pin and then the 7 just to get comfortable with my angles. But that doesn't leave many practice shots to get my strike line or ball figured out. That's why I'm only a 160 bowler...haha!
This question doesn’t have anything to do with this video but if you could answer it I would greatly appreciate it. Last week I was throwing a storm all road factory 4000 finish. I hit it with 2000 and it worked great for my league. My question is how many games generally can you bowl before I have to hit the ball with 2000 again? I always enjoy your videos and great advice. Thanks
I would say somewhere between 12-18 games I would hit it again depending on the amount of oil coming back on the ball and how fast the oil is “shining” it!
I have a question. I bowl 2 handed and I throw an Ion Max. I throw about 14 MPH. What should I do if my Ion hooks too much for me. Should I throw hard or slower?
Me personally if im finding too much hook, im more comfortable lofting the ball to get it down the lane more than throwing it hard because it becomes very uncomfortable fast. Throwing slower would only make it hook more. Consider this because I also bowl 2 handed, with an ion max at a little higher speed than you.

Great info thanx! Love the shot by shot thought analysis. I'd like to see the shots from behind personally. Keep up the great work!

Also watching others during practice can be helpful
Absolutely, I agree!
My practice consists of me just saying "oh, crap" and praying for better results.

Awesome!
Thanks so very much for the great advice.
I that your video quality was better, it’s not very sharply focused or lacks resolution. Love the content.

Heck, I need 15-ish shots to get my spare game warmed up, let alone figure out the lane.
Overtime it gets easier from experience dont get discouraged
Show up in time for practice
You guys are getting 10 minutes practice? 😅
How could you tell there was friction at five
Cause it hooks..
@ ohhhh! Just dawned on me! 5 board. Dohhhh! 😂
hehe PRACTICE you talking bout PRACTICE?
