I'm glad I found your instruction vids. Very clear and easy to follow along. I also enjoy learning the back ground and explination of the knots that you provide. THANKS

It's so beautiful it's almost spiritual, thank you for sharing. I'm making things for my husband this year so I thought I could make him a whole bunch of different celtic knots since he really loves them.

Thank you so much for this!!! Liked, subscribed and bookmarked! I was wary in the beginning of the video thinking "...yea RIGHT I'm gonna be able to tie that!". Your pace is perfect and easy to follow, not a lot of chatter (just the right amount to educate us and set the stage). I will say the "magically appearing rope" trick in the intro was awesome LOL! Thanks for that. Please keep making these videos. I'm an artist and you have just opened my world to a whole new series of work!! SO EXCITED!!!

This was great! I wasn't sure about the length of this to complete, so I started with 8 feet (96 inches) and after completion, there are 37.5 inches on one side and 36 inches on the other, so the whole knot itself took 22.5 inches. More math now to figure out more knots out of the excess on each side :)

Knot only (yes a knot pun ha ha) does this knot have great meaning, but, it may be just me, it looks beautiful as it comes together. Hard to explain, so I won't try. . . I'm just gonna try to make it, and not stopping til I succeed.

Very good video. Now I'm off to try and do with in wire. I'd love to use this knot as the actual "tree knot" in my wire wrapped Trees of Life. I'm excited to try.

This is a great video- thanks fir sharing,
Just a suggestion for future videos: Would you consider coloring the ends of the rope? There are times when it get difficult to tell which end of the rope that you are using. It would be a lot easier for me to follow along if the ends of the rope were different colors.
Thanks again for the awesome video. You do some amazing stuff!

I really cannot see anything but Celtic knot like many have done. There is nothing to separate the earth and universe which is the trunk.
Would it make it more realistic if tied the middle together?¿
    It’s lovely tho

i read somewhere that it may no longer be totally PC to compare the Celts of Britain to the Celts on the mainland. I believe that there are a few Roman accounts that distinguish British Celts from mainland. Saying that theyre are close in culture but still distinguishable enough to be considered separate

Okay, 20 minutes ago I posted I'd try it, and I have succeeded. I see the problem people run into! It's just like those games you play as a kid, where you follow the kite strings to see who owns which kite, in coloring books. When at the end, make sure you keep it flat, then go to where you need it tightened most, where it loops out biggest, and trace the rope a little way, then tug on it til that part's tight, and work that same line all the way to the bitter end. Repeat throughout. :)

I suppose it depends on the thickness of the cord, since a thinner cord will produce smaller knots... I wish they would give at least an estimate, though.

Honestly didn't think it would be so easy, there is just one part that fucks me up every time and that is adjusting the knot sadly you were not showing how to do that properly but I managed. One complain: I can't see a thing when you work because of your fingers

It's a very similar concept yet not exactly the same tree Yggdrasil is the norse world tree that supports the nine worlds a couple of which are Midgard ( realm of men ) and Asgard ( realm of the gods ) Yggdrasil is often thought to be an Ash tree and is where Odin hung wounded by spear for 9 days eventually gaining knowledge of the runes giving both runic magic and the written word to man

Don't try this with leather cords, unless it's real heavy. I had it all right, but couldn't get the cord to quit locking up on it's self, so even tho it was tied right, I really never got to see the finish. I'd do it again with rope.
