The Tea Cup Knot is one of the products of my explorations into three dimensional decorative knots. Starting off as a woven bight variant of the Good Luck Knot, its finishing technique makes it so much more!

I love these videos.....this one in particular is great for jewelery earrings, pendants. Your rounded stone or whatever your using can be placed and glued in the teacup. Of course your using very fine twine......little time consuming but cute:) THX for the videos.

excellent vid, thanks very much! clear and not too fast. I'm not even a beginner, cos I find it hard to follow static pics and most vids are either too fast or you can't see clearly what is being done. this is great, and think I'll make it my first project, thanks again

sir i have used simular knots called the tea cup or the butter cup knots many times on decorative knots such as a knot board or to add character to the corners i have also used them on picture frames to enhance the corners. you can also use an inverted three strand turks head for the same purpose

Excellent tutorial! I wonder if it could be a good starting point before you cut off the ends & invert it to use for making a dog harness?

Fun! I have an old (mint condition) 60 meter climbing rope...this might make a cool basket for all my climbing gear in the house. Can the know keep going? or is the honey basket my best bet?

I would like to use this knot to make an endcap for a tube which is approximately 3.5" in diameter. How could I go about enlarging this to fit?

So you give us the song and the title but you won't tell us how long of rope we're supposed to use makes a lot of sense
