Honda hasn’t been doing great lately. They’re not as reliable and they’ve been using subpar parts inside and out on their entire vehicle lineup. No automaker currently in the US uses lower-than quality parts but Honda. I know it because I own a new one and it’s been at the shop 10 times already. Also, the plastics inside creak and rattle excessively. I can literally move my dash with one hand.
Im about to upgrade my car to the K4 GT-Line model trim next year! I can't wait. Haters will hate. I love the edgy design. This is what cars in the future should look like. The features you get for the money are not offered on higher trim Civics. The design of the K4 is definitely split my age demographics. Of course, someone in Joe's age group will think the design is too radical for them.
Funny how the mexican EX version has the back AC vents and the back seat central Armrest but not the digital AC controls in front, i think designers noticed Mexicans move in group/family more than in USA Thoese are all the differences i noticed
These cars are a bit more premium in the Latin American market. They have lower models like the K3, Picanto, Soluto, so the K4 is almost a midsize for them.
After purchasing my K5 EX , I was excited to see how the K4 turned out !!! Needless to say I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the K4 , But NOT the K5 EX I absolutely Love my K5 !!!!!! 40mpg's Up to the mnts ??? 1 Word .......... AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rented this car for a trip. Phenomenal car for the price. I had the LXS trim, and it still had a decent amount of tech, and comfortable to drive. I will knock off points though for it not being made in the USA or Korea. Gotta wait and see if there are any QC issues.
Joe loved the review ! Been a fan for three years keep up the good work That being said that is the ugliest car I’ve ever seen in my life 😂 pretty sad when a Toyota Prius looks better lol 😅 junk cars. Stick with Honda or Toyota.
I've been seeing them on the street lately they look like concept cars first time I saw one I thought it was a Kia wasn't suer I thought it was a k5 pretty cool car
In this segment I would choose the Mazda 3 sedan. . The powertrain on the 3 is great. I like the styling better on the Mazda as well. That’s saying a lot because the 3 hasn’t had a major update in a long time. Second choice would be a Honda Civic. I realize the Kia is likely less expensive vs the other mid tier trims.
Kia is losing their touch with exterior design. I still think the 2011 to 2015 generation is the best looking especially the EX and SX models. Thanks for another righteous review brother. No matter the product. Joe shines.
I just so happen to agree with you, although I'm rather bias given I own a '14 SX, I think Kia was trying to make the Optima look more like an Audi back in the day.
Just left my local Kia dealer. I’m cool with the back. The front bumper kit is weird looking to me. I’ll wait on the GT Line turbo before deciding on whether or not I’d consider driving one. Sitting beside a k5 it’s a night and day difference in appearance in my humble opinion.
If memory serves me, Kia has confirmed that they will be offering the K4 Hatchback here in the States and oh boy, am I excited to see those out on the road. I absolutely love the way the K4 Hatchback looks proportionately compared to the sedan.
Honda hasn’t been doing great lately. They’re notas reliable and they’ve been using subpar parts inside and out on their entire vehicle lineup. No automaker currently in the US uses lower-than quality parts but Honda. I know it because I own a new one and it’s been at the shop 10 times already. Also, the plastics inside creak and rattle excessively. I can literally move my dash and my center console with one hand. Honda = Cheap
Zonk 1 should have been some fog lamps; Joe? Are you going to zonk the boring grille? on at least a half zonk???? wheel is a "rotating throwing star"...good one. I am looking forward to the hatchback/wagon in a year or two.
I like the more aggressive exterior look and the internal dash of this over the civic, but not a big fan of the overall interior. Additionally, the civic does get better mpg’s so it’s a tough call for me.
Can you say ugly 😮 I have a 2023 Kia Forte GT and I love it this k4 is a downgrade no 201 hp motor , no 7speed DCT, no dual exhaust tips with great sound . All that missing and more , much more money 😢
Styling for many people would be hit or miss I for one like how it looks like. The flat black has to go this is a sedan not a suv. Reminds me what you get on the Toyota crown sedan. It doesn’t work ruins the look of the car especially on a sedan
I keep pushing myself to like this design as I currently have a Kia forte and was going to upgrade to this but I have now come to the conclusion that that's a god-awful design. The backend of that car is horrible I don't know what they were thinking. Great review as always though. Thank you.
I don't like it. It looks like something a 4 year old pieced together with Legos. I suppose it's functional transportation, but it doesn't excite me, to put it mildly. There is no way I would pick this over a Civic, even one of the de-contented, underpowered ones that Honda should be ashamed of.
Have a 23' GT line Forte and was looking forward to these. I see GT-Lines on lots near me, may have to see with the moon roof and system if its worth it. NO vents in back again, WHY? and why the door colors? some design issues for sure
I have been waiting for you to review this car!! Finally 😭 can’t wait to watch it. Been debating between a 2024 Honda civic and this car. Honda civic is expensive!!! After watching the video, damn Joe I feel like you were hating on this car 😂 your civic reviews are def more better For a new civic the screen is so small it’s upsetting especially seeing how they’re $27k. Not affordable anymore but I need a car now 😭 so maybe I’ll go for this k4
Are even going to review the GT-Line Turbo trim? Because if you don’t your viewers are gonna ask you why you didn’t waited for the GT-Line turbo trim to be available for review
The top speed of the LX and the LXS and the EX is 124 but the top speed for the GT line and a GT line turbo is 130 coming from Kia 0 to 60 for the GT line turbo in about 7.1 seconds
For only $25,000 there is a lot to like about this car, would be good for a college kid or person doing Uber but for me the CVT kills the deal. If I was buying I would have to go with the direct drive Honda Civic and the Civic is a lot better looking car IMO.
This man puts out reviews like Hostess puts out Twinkies. And just like Twinkies, Joe's reviews never get stale!
This is the best comment of the month David! Thanks man!
And Joe incorporates Twinkies into his craft!
Bruh Hostess products are not good 😅
Absolutely love my K4 GT-Line, I got Friday.
I was super excited about this car, but after this quick review it's giving me pause with some incongruity in the design.
Good call man! Don’t rush into it!
Joe’s the best 🎉 we are blessed to have such content daily. Thanks Joe
don't even want to buy a car and I watched all the way to the end... good one Joe... I think Honda is still Boss
That means the world my friend!
For the price is not that bad but I don’t know if I’d get for for me. I think I prefer the civic.
Thanks for your insight on this choice
Love your reviews, dude! Always spot on! I wonder what kinda car you have, lol
Looks great but wouldn’t take it over a Honda
Honda hasn’t been doing great lately. They’re not as reliable and they’ve been using subpar parts inside and out on their entire vehicle lineup. No automaker currently in the US uses lower-than quality parts but Honda. I know it because I own a new one and it’s been at the shop 10 times already. Thanks for your vote
This should qualify under the lemon law. Check your state laws.
Civic for sure! Best quality for your money 💰.
I got a K4 last month. I love it. I’m not a huge fan of the style but it’s growing on me. Great car for the price point.
Something looks off about the back side.
You are not wrong about that
Those back windows and the rims 👎👎

Kind of weird looking, but the interior and tech you get for the money is pretty hard to beat!
Thanks for you honest thoughts on this one.
I usually don't comment on what I do not like, but I'm not digging this one.
I don’t blame you Jason
Toyota fanboy?

The side profile of the car especially in the back reminds me of the KIA Stinger
Don’t say that

You talking about the
Zonk is the CVT. What about Honda CVT?
Well, Joe, I guess most would agree that style isn't this K4s.........FORTE 😅😅
I love what you did there man!
Hey Joe and Lori, congratulations on getting 1.2 million subscribers!!
Thanks for noticing that! It is great to have you on the journey with

More " zonks " on this K4 than Civic Hatchback.
Thanks for sharing.

Joe when you went on throttle was that a skateboarder zipping by you lol 😆
Raitis rides is the best in the business…
I really appreciate you saying that!
This is what happens when stylists never hear the word "no"
Yes of course Joe & I would love to buy this.
I agree with you in all comments, I prefer honda
The top speed not 115 is 124 for the LX,LXS,EX,GTline and its 130mph for the GTline turbo
EV6 design team was given a Lancia Stratos for inspiration.
K4 team was given a 2007 Jeep Compass.
Kia is losing their touch with exterior design. I still think the 2011 to 2015 generation is the best looking especially the EX and SX models. Thanks for another righteous review brother. No matter the product. Joe shines.

All the people hating on it are clearly jealous 😂 cause you ain't getting those features in your honda or Toyota for 25k
Joe likes to be unfair
oh GOD NO!!!!
lol I love what you did there
If memory serves me, Kia has confirmed that they will be offering the K4 Hatchback here in the States and oh boy, am I excited to see those out on the road. I absolutely love the way the K4 Hatchback looks proportionately compared to the sedan.
I agree totally!
So it'll be kinda like the forte hatch that had once upon a time
Glad to see the NA engines still being offered 🙌
reminds me of the old Datsun B210 just uglier.
lol perfect!
The 210 is the Mona Lisa in comparison 😂
20:40 that red Evo ❤
You have very good eyes!
@RaitisRides and you have a very good channel. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Saw one on the road the other day, looks super cheap and weird. Honda all day 💪

@ sounds like you gotta dud car from the start. But you can’t compare overall company wise, Honda/Acura is more reliable than Hyundai/Kia/Genesis
@Kia is way higher than Honda on the JD Power dependability study.
Good way to put it
ua-cam.com/video/mq3I-DPCIgQ/v-deo.html
Honda Civic ! 👍
Best choice man!
Also Joe, drop the cereal. You’ll feel way better throughout the day 😊
Zonk 1 should have been some fog lamps; Joe? Are you going to zonk the boring grille? on at least a half zonk???? wheel is a "rotating throwing star"...good one. I am looking forward to the hatchback/wagon in a year or two.
Man i would pick up a Civic Hybrid with 200hps over this any day, even the Corolla
Who wouldn't?
The back is as awkward as EV6. What was Kia thinking?
Gonna zonk Kia entirely 🙌🏾
You have that right!
Great review Joe...keep them coming.
You got it man!
The car will catch on fire.
Not only would I rather buy a Civic I would rather buy a 24 Forte GT line.
Thanks for mentioning Star Crunches
Special K!! This review had me laughing!
I'm surprised the entire video dialogue wasn't Zonk, Zonk, Zonk, and Zonk.
It is a heck of a bargain. There is not much to zonk at this price point.
Joe is hardest working Automotive Content Creator on the internet. Literally a new video every day
Thank you for saying that! I appreciate you taking the time to say that!
Waiting for GT line trim with more tech options and ventilated seats under 30K! Way to go Kia🎉
Stay tuned for that one.
No rear ac vents but the outgoing Forte did 😮
I am saving up for a civic hybrid. People are saying Honda quality is falling but I will take that over Kia / Hyundai any day.
Everyone will.
It looks funnier the more you look at it. (The car)
Sorry, the Civic looks like it should cost $10K more than this. Loving the new hybrid hatch Civic.
I totally agree with you!
That’s cause it does cost way more? You’re not getting half of these features on the civic, Kia has undercut the competition again 😂
Wagon this and add their hybrid setup from their other small vehicles... Just about a perfect vehicle.
Kia’s new design language looks like those Rorschach inkblot psychiatric test cards or Kiss makeup. Great video Joe!
I give it a big ZONK!
The KIA boys are going to love this. Me that's a no.
They can’t it’s push to start
Kia’s new styling language is very polarizing. I think this K4 is absolutely hideous. I own a Kia Stinger and think it’s gorgeous.
I like the more aggressive exterior look and the internal dash of this over the civic, but not a big fan of the overall interior. Additionally, the civic does get better mpg’s so it’s a tough call for me.
The baby 2025 Carnival I call it. Good looking car when you're next to it.
HUH?
@RaitisRides front and rear led headlights look like the carnival and sorento Sir.
Can you say ugly 😮 I have a 2023 Kia Forte GT and I love it this k4 is a downgrade no 201 hp motor , no 7speed DCT, no dual exhaust tips with great sound . All that missing and more , much more money 😢
Joe is this car comfortable for the big backs?
Not liking the K4, I'd go Civic, Elantra, or Corolla over this.
Hatchback is literally coming out next year.
I miss the tiger nose. The pinch trim is a zonk.
I feel the same way!
ua-cam.com/video/mq3I-DPCIgQ/v-deo.html
147hp ...not cool man. Not cool.
you should've compared the K4 GT with the Honda Civic sport, but the EX is a fine choice!
Actually the K5 is a midisize.
Not a bad little ride all in all. Great job as usual 👏
Styling for many people would be hit or miss I for one like how it looks like. The flat black has to go this is a sedan not a suv. Reminds me what you get on the Toyota crown sedan. It doesn’t work ruins the look of the car especially on a sedan
I have a 2020 Kia Forte GT and would never go for a K4. It's fugly!!!
Love the reviews Joe. this is probably a better car but I liked the look of the forte better.
Great input on this one Ryan

I’m kinda digging this car, but that color is not doing it any justice.
140 horsepower with how big & heavy this thing is insane what in the world I'm no horsepower junkie
and that's without passengers. imagine it full of people and/or cargo. yikes!
This is not as slow as you’d think. The civic sport is extremely slow. Kia and Hyundai IVT works with the engine very well…
No its not
I agree with you
Have a 23' GT line Forte and was looking forward to these. I see GT-Lines on lots near me, may have to see with the moon roof and system if its worth it. NO vents in back again, WHY? and why the door colors? some design issues for sure
I’m digging that color also joe didn’t the Kia K5 also replace the Kia Sephia & the spectra
Sephia >spectra>forte>k4
Man that cargo net tho 😳
Yeah I know how you feel!
And it could win a race specially in this class going against a Corolla
Probley just burnt 2 quarts of oil on that Rev up
Compared with Toyota Corolla Saloon, Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra, Hyundai Elantra, Volkswagen Jetta, Mazda 3, & Others
You are so very right!
@RaitisRides Thank You Brother
@@rakhsiprayogo82of course man! I appreciate you tuning in!
