Phil Collins needs to be in the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame. he is in there with Genesis also with Peter Gabriel. Peter Gabriel was is inductive in the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame when he left the band. But if anybody deserves to be inducted in the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame as a single artist, that would be Phil Collins. Phil Collins it’s a wonderful singer. Also, drummer you can listen to every album he’s ever made solo. Every song has a meaning.
Please check out Always in my Heart. He wrote thst song fir his Daughter. I always sang that to my youngest Son when he was little. He recently got married. And that was the song he picked for his Mother son dance. It brought tears to us both .
I'm having a hard time trying to think if Phill Collins has ANY songs that aren't phenomenal. I went through some of my most angsty times in middle school listening to my Phill tapes, rewinding the same songs over and over again (especially "I Wish it Would Rain Down,") and I probably annoyed the hell out of the neighbors, too. (CD's did exist back then, but we were too poor to have a CD player so I had tapes.) Thank you for bringing him back onto my radar again! He got pushed back in my musical realm when grunge got big (then later, when Disturbed and MUSE appeared,) but he's always been a great listen.
"Seperate Lives' duet with female backup singer from this same concert is an absolutely beautiful performances. He lets her shine in it. Really a must see/hear.🥂Phil was also a child actor.
Phil's bass play Leland Sklar is THE MAN! I listen to him on his UA-cam channel playing his bass to Phil's tracks and I can hear so clearly how his bass contributes to the vibe of all Phil's songs. And the guitarist Daryl Stuermer kills every single song. Do You Remember gives me chills!
I have very strong feelings about this beautiful song as it played on the car radio as we drove to the hospital to say a final goodbye to our dying dad after a long period of estrangement. It just makes me want to cry all over again about the lost time which can never be regained. I have been a Phil Collins fan since his Genesis days and his solo work stands the test of time. I've seen him in concert twice and the most powerful moments were always him at the piano with just a spotlight. And of course, In the Air Tonight which cannot be surpassed.
This was from his 1990 concert in Berlin just after the Berlin Wall had come down. Huge crowd with a great vibe. When he sang 'Another Day in Paradise' he said in German (if I recall correctly) that they had collection areas as they left to donate for a local homeless organization (he matched what was collected....and did that at every city). Cool dude.
Unfortunately he's not even able to hold drumsticks due to some problems with his hands, but then he is like 80. At least he's still with us and it will be a devastating day when that is no longer the truth 😢
I was born in 1968. Phil Collins was the soundtrack of my growing up. This song makes me sad listening to it because at 54, it makes me think of everyone and everything I took for granted as a youth. Sadly, many are dead or in jail.
Polo, if you like Phil Collins drumming, you most definitely need to check out one of his drum duets with Chester Thompson. I particularly like the one from the 1994 Genesis We Can't Dance tour, Live from Dodger Stadium.
@《JesusIsComing》 Yes, Take Me Home is a good one. In fact, my wife and I got to see Phil in Montreal later in the 90's and in lieu of a traditional drum duet, during Take Me Home, nearly every musician marched out onto and around the stage playing drums. Also saw Phil in 95, and for the drum duet, Phil had his drum set designed to look like a set of plastic buckets, and Chester Thompson wore a long coat with a synth drum set built into it. So he was slapping different parts of the coat in order to get different drum sounds. It was pretty ingenious, which, of course, is part of Phil's magic.
When I watched Tarzan as a kid it imprinted a lasting love of Phil Collins music in me. I was born too late to discover his older works until I was older.
I do believe that is one the best pieces of music ever still to this day pulls at my heart Went over to Detroit years ago from Windsor 🇨🇦 the best ever
Love seeing people appreciate Phil Collins. For some reason, it became fashionable in the 90s ridicule him more than respect him. Definitely check out some Genesis. I'd recommend "Mama" or "Land of Confusion" as a bridge between his solo and Genesis work.
Heard I Don't Care Anymore on the radio today - another great one! However, this one is one of my favorite slow songs. Also love Genesis' In Too Deep and Throwing It All Away 🤗
Love, Love, Love,❤❤❤❤Mr.Phil Collins sooo much he has so many great songs💯 to pick one I really think you need to hear Another day in Paradise, This song is about helping the homeless people around the world, it's very powerful and Beautiful as only Phil Collins could do! I hope you pick it to react to✌️Love your channel and you God Bless you and yours 🙏💯 Rock on and Rock hard 🤘🦾✌️🎧
Phil Collins was the drummer for Genesis before taking over vocal duties when Peter Gabriel departed the band to persue his solo career. You should check out the song "Mama" by Genesis. 🤘
If you like Phil's live performances then you should def watch Inside Out and Colours. Both are from this same 1990 Berlin concert. His live shows with Genesis are also worth watching - Home by the Sea, Mama, Abacab. It's practically impossible to find a live performance that Phil doesn't bring his A game. You definitely get your money's worth as a fan of his shows!
My brother and I have discussed that the band Genesis was good with Peter Gabrial as lead singer. When Peter went solo, Phil became lead singer. That resulted in two super power acts, then Phil's solo makes a third. And fourth, Mike Rutherford had a band called Mike and the Mechanics thar had several good song, if you need to cry, "The Living Years" will do it. So four fantastic acts from one OK band, lol. I was lucky enough to see Genesis and Phil Collins solo during the 80s, I saw THE best bands and singers in the 80s. No one will ever change my mind on that. Peter Gabriel and Mike and the Mechanics are worth more than a casual listen. Probably first for Peter would be "Solsbury Hill."
Definitely here for some more Phil Collins. A couple of personal favs that are a bit different than the slower ballads you’ve done: Something happened on the Way to Heaven & Sussudio But I got all the time in the world for his slower songs as well (I wish it would Rain) And I Love that you reacted to a Darkthrone song. Black metal culturally/musically is a very intriguing sub genre. Maybe not the I would have chosen for you though lol.
I can tell from how much you appreciate the more intricate musical bits from Rush and Tool and Smashing Pumpkins. I think you would like the early 70's Genesis where Phil was drummer and backing vocals. 'Firth of Fifth ' with Peter Gabriel on vocal will blow your mind.
Love your reactions to Phil. I Wish it Would Rain Down, Against All Odds (studio version is the best or the official video - best live version is from No Ticket Required), Groovy Kind of Love (video), and the list goes on. Gen Z have been unearthing his music and it's awesome to see. His son Nick Collins played drums on the final tour since Phil can no longer play.
to get deeper into Phil's drums, any Genesis from '71 to '78 will do the trick. but can I shine a spotlight... first two tracks of Peter Gabriel's 3rd solo album. Phil on drums... 1. Intruder and 2. No Self Control. influence on future drums is incalculable.
Hi, if you really want to hear a song that really evokes emotion, listen to If Leaving me is Easy. Phil cries when he sings this. Its pure raw emotion. Actually his whole first album, Face Value is the best album Ive ever heard in my life. It's a roller-coaster of emtions...behind the lines, on that album is a killer track too. Hope to see you do a reaction video to atleast one of these songs. Thanks Godspeed
I hope you also react soon to his work with Genesis, I recommend "That's All", "In Too Deep", "Throwing It All Away" and "Taking It All Too Hard". In case you haven't yet.
If you still want to hear some more Phil Collins, if you haven't heard it yet the album is Genesis the song is Mama. I really think you're going to like it😊
This song came out when I was going through a horrible time, heading towards a divorce from the love of my life 😢 Phil got me through some really tough times
He had his own band genesis along with Peter Gabriel....his song I don't care anymore w about his wife cheating on him with a friend who was a musician.. The subsequent divorce was a knock down drag out..and those words he sings are PERSONAL. The rage is real
Phil has arthritis, his hands are now totally crippled by it and he can only play when the drumsticks are duck taped to his hands, even then he can’t play like he used to. It’s a huge loss to music and to us, the people he touched with his awesome talent. We were lucky to hear him at his incredible best.
@@drwoo6090 that's awesome. Like Jason Bonham, taken over from Jon. He played a awesome set when Heart performed Stairway to Heaven, in front of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones. Jason sounded every bit as good as his dad. Rob & Jimmy had tears in their eyes. If you've not seen it, check it out? Love from Annie, in Cornwall, UK🌸🙂

Thank you. x
There is very little that Phil Collin's can't play or sing! He took Genius to the top along with his solo career. You are looking at greatness!
Best live performance in the biz!
Phil does not get enough recognition for how great a drummer he is. His work with Genesis is really legendary.
He was taught by another great Lloyd Ryan, who I heard at a live concert.
@@RichardBedsIt's really sad that my man Phil is now physically disabled, but his voice is 100% smooth!
Some of grew up on Genesis and Phil Collins and I’m so happy you are keeping this great music alive!

Phil is a legend. Man had the power to make us a feel safe and secure with his music.
So amazing about Phil is that he can play every single instrument on that stage not just the drums
Guitar and bass?? Woow ❤
Please check out Always in my Heart.
He wrote thst song fir his Daughter.

You watched this video like you were entranced by the music. Which is all good because so was I! No words needed to describe your reaction.
The Amazing Phil Collins songs are endless❤
I always loved Phil Collins and Genesis. I always will love Against All Odds and Land of Confusion
I still listen to this pretty much everyday
"Seperate Lives' duet with female backup singer from this same concert is an absolutely beautiful performances. He lets her shine in it. Really a must see/hear.🥂Phil was also a child actor.
Check out I wish it would rain, just another day for you and me in paradise. Phil is awesome dude. Glad you like his music 🎵

Sounds GREAT live! You MUST experience from he same concert Phil's duet with Bridgette Bryant singing 'Separate Lives'. It smolders. FIRE.

He's written some great music. The enjoyment I had watching this is seeing your total immersion in his performance. Does he ever perform anymore?
He just finished the final tour with Genesis. He is now permanently retired.
Unfortunately he's not even able to hold drumsticks due to some problems with his hands, but then he is like 80. At least he's still with us and it will be a devastating day when that is no longer the truth 😢

Nice to hear reaction on Phil.. Next time maybe some live seconds out.. After glow that would be great
Phil Collins and Phill Bailey from Earth Wind and Fire were good friends. They made an amazing song together called Easy Lover. So good.
Please continue to do Phil Collins!! He is one of the best artists imo
My favorite❤
No son of mine is a great Phil Collins song. Along with the rest of his music. Enjoy POLO!!
When Phil slowed down with his singing he had the Phil Collins Orchestra.
