There is a well-kept secret to run Murano CVT up to 300k without any problems: make partial transmission fluid exchange every 20k km. Take 1 quarter out (with cheap Amazon oil pump via dipstick pipe) and replace it with fresh quarter of NS-3.

We just bought a new 2019 Murano Platinum and we LOVE it. Basically this trim comes loaded with everything and the ONE FEATURE this Murano has standard, is the 360 degrees camera views which we love very much and it is super helpful when parking properly. I do not understand why this feature is not yet available in other cars. Design also plays a role. You buy a car you like visually speaking and the Murano is beautiful from our point of view.

I bought a 2015 Murano SL in October 2015. Have put over 60,000 miles with zero problems. I travel from Ontario to Florida every year and can drive 600 miles in one day without being tired. I test drove a Lexus 350 RX, a Honda CRV, a Santa Fe and a Ford Edge before I made my decision. I love my Murano and highly recommend it if you want a comfortable, quiet, economic luxurious SUV for a good price and reliability. I can't wait for the next model change... it will be even more awesome.

Having just purchased a ‘19 Murano Platinum FWD 3 months ago, I absolutely love it. I’ve had my eye on this car since the ‘15 came out but purposely waited for the ‘19 refresh. I drove a ‘19 Edge Titanium back to back and the Murano won hands down. The Murano has a much better suspension and controlled ride, is much more planted to the road, the seats are way more comfortable and it’s quieter. The Edge is a nice car but not for me. Coming from a ‘16 Honda CR-V Touring AWD I was ready for something nicer. And I like the Murano’s CVT. It gives you the shift feeling under harder acceleration, but otherwise it’s as good as the CVT I had in my CRV. I also crossed shopped this to the Sante Fe (hated the exterior design), the Passport (road noise is still too intrusive in the cabin which still plagues Honda’s, plus I wasn’t looking for a “rugged” SUV), and the Grand Cherokee and Blazer (both over priced and too much hard plastic everywhere). I’d highly recommend the Murano.
Thanks for this great video Alex!

I have 2018 Murano SL fwd and 2019 Lexus RX 350 f-sport. The Lexus IS better however slightly. When I drive long distance from FL to NYC I always take my Murano because better mileage and bigger tank so on full tank almost 600 miles whereas Lexus maybe 400 miles. The seats are more comfortable than the Lexus and the main reason I take the Murano is CarPlay and Waze. I don’t have used my escort radar detector anymore. Nice objective review. I purchased a 2019 blue Murano Platinum trim. Did lots of research. Was set on the Murano since it was the best bang for the buck. Bought on clearance for a 20% discount which sweetened the deal. Since they are in less demand, you can really bargain. Added a 6 year 100,000 mile comprehensive warranty so I’m worry free. There’s no such thing as a cheap repair so I felt it was money well spent given the discount I got. I have owned two Nissan Sentras and a Nissan Altima and they were all good reliable cars. Absolutely love the Murano. Just a unique and stylish design. I think the wheels are the best looking out of any SUV. Seats and ride are very comfortable. You don’t buy the Murano for towing or off-roading. Is designed for street. Lower ground clearance than its competitors makes entry and exit easy, but you still enjoy the feel and safety of a bigger vehicle with sitting high but still great road manners. Quiet cabin. My wife is super picky and she loves this vehicle
. Infiniti like experience for almost half the price. Plus there are not a lot of them out there so you stand out. Very happy so far.

It's a tough segment if you want 5 seat 2 - row and a V6 engine. The new Chevy Blazer looked like it might compete, but is way overpriced. I have a 2017.5 Murano and it seems to be the best bang for the buck, but I'd prefer a non - CVT option. That said, the ability to put it in "manual" mode to up/dn shift does make it more drivable. Getting a bit older and a lot less off-roadie, this has been a superb vehicle for my current needs. The kids are gone, but it still snows where I am so the AWD gets a bit of work in winter - and does so very well. I'm looking at alternative for when my current lease expires, but I'm not seeing anything that sweeps me away at the same price point. Sure, I'd like a BMW X5, but not at twice the price...

We cross shopped this Murano last year when looking. What Alex doesn't mention is the extremely poor outward visibility in the Murano. Also, the CVT bogs down horribly when you try to get up to highway speeds. We ended up with the Kia Sorento, that had better performance with the new 8 speed automatic, and though it has those vestigial 3rd row seats, they fold flat and make a nice larger 2 row. We've had it nearly a year and not a single problem, just a simple oil change.

Alex thank you for such an indepth review. My only argument is, there are alot of discrepancies about the CVT . The thing is, ever since I've owned my 2020 SL model (about 5 months now) ive rarely found the CVT to have a lagging issue. While on the road or the highway when i punch the accelerator the CVT responds quickly with definite power output.

CVT had readability issues until about 2015-2016 but those have since been resolved and Hyundai is currently dealing with a lot of recalls, I'd seriously doubt it will be more reliable

If the Murano could even tow 3,000 pounds as the Ford Edge with the 2.3L 4 Ecoboost, it would be absolutely perfect. Yet, that 4-banger is rated to tow twice as much as the V-6 Murano! For the majority of my driving, the Pathfinder is too much vehicle. I'd hate to have to step up to the Pathy just to be able to pull a teardrop trailer. I would also have to give up CarPlay... I don't understand why virtually every Nissan model in 2020 has CarPlay capability ***except*** the Pathfinder! Towing capability and CarPlay definitely makes the Santa Fe, the Kia Sorento, or even the Grand Cherokee a more attractive option considering their prices on the used/CPO market. Then, there''s the CVT issue...

I'm currently leasing 2019 Nissan Murano. Base model. I don't understand , why every car reviewer classifies the ride as comfortable. The ride is very stiff. If you live in the city or area of the country where roads and highways have perfect pavement, then the ride is smooth. However, for the SUV of this size and class, the suspension is very stiff. That's the truth. You will feel every bump and pothole, you go over. And suspension, gets very upset over large potholes and other road imperfections. If you live in the city or are with choppy roads, you will litteray break you back. That's how stiff the suspension is. I suggest, always test drive the vehicle. Especially off highway.
