I was on set in NYC for this film. The America song was the hardest ensemble song to do as that summer had record high temperatures and the dancers kept passing out (they had to start rescheduling shoots because of it). Ariana was on set for that and kept a positive attitude. Every single production assistant would talk about how incredible she was and how kind she is. I never met her and my boss said he was sad I hadn't by the end of the shoot. He said she was the nicest person he'd worked with. Really glad she's getting the recognition she deserves.

Ariana is a phenomenal artist. She sings flawlessly, dances like there is no tomorrow and when it comes to the acting she acts her heart out! I'm so happy for her success!

@@Lommy9999 they should both be nominated. In this movie i really want Ariana to win just because her Anita was the character that made me sob into tears at certain moments, but if Rita wins she would make history and her performance was also amazing. I can’t wait to see the actual nominees.

Rachel was amazing and had to hold some incredibly difficult notes. I hope she takes off after this! I think we can all agree Anita is a far more dimensional character, so Ariana had her own challenge at hand. “A Boy Like That/ I Have A Love” was INCREDIBLE. Definitely the scene that reverberated in my brain the most. I’ll have to wait and see who the supporting actress nominees are for the Oscar’s, but I think she has a hugeeee chance to win. It’s been amazing to see more Broadway actors make it in film and I can’t wait to see where she goes from here…
Now, I wanna see it…lol Good for her standing her ground and so glad she landed the role!

Because often times in the entertainment industry if you are a BIPOC you’re usually not seen or they won’t consider you if you’re not 100% on your game. She is setting boundaries with people and knew that since she had just worked her ass off doing scenes and shows that she wasn’t ready to read.
