This is so true though, there are so many memes about 9/11, WW3, Coronavirus, etc. All of them are made because of the fact that we're scared of these things
Yeah, well. It's a pretty normal thing that everyone should do ask before a "shooking talking"... you never knew how much the person feel about this case like that.
I'm a school shooting survivor and I found it so sweet how the one girl at the start asked if it was okay to laugh. Thats important to ask because the survivor might get the wrong message etc.
@@stvrlight_xP I’m not exactly a school shooting survivor but it was right outside my school and I was in elementary school when it happened it was probably the most terrifying thing I ever experienced except when I went through that whole brain injury thing in the 8th grade (2015)
My social studies teacher ones said “Screw what the principal said about hiding in a corner. If there is a shooting RUN. Try to escape, I don’t care how you do it. You’ve got a gut instinct, listen to it. I’m not going to say too much more because if one of you happens to be a shooter, I don’t want to give away a plan.”
other replies are not nearly as serious lmao but my school was the closest school to the mosque in the christchurch shooting last year and i was sitting right next to the door cause we were in lockdown and i remember thinking something similar to what she said. anyway i know nothing about kpop
It made me cry when she said they shot each and every single student in that room but one. I couldn’t imagine what they were thinking in that moment :(
there was a shooting that happened at a club in my town and several college students who were just trying to have a fun night were killed, it was in 2018 when i was 11 and i thought it was normal :( 16 deaths
i'm convinced living in the U.S. that there's a 20% chance that i'm going to die in a mass shooting. that's so fucked up and infuriating i'm so scared for my nephews. it really angers me that my sister can do everything right and yet they could be killed in a school shooting b/c the U.S. is a joke of a country
I was at a mall, and two guys started fighting then started shooting. It is the scariest thing to ever experience, all I could do is think of my son because he was with me (he's 3), I will thank God everyday for keeping us safe and for my best friend being with us because he got us to safety within seconds. We were out of the parking lot as the cops were driving up. We had no time to process anything until we left, I of course had a mental breakdown. Everyone stay safe, and God bless!!
Her advice is great. Not only for school Shootings. Whenever you're in danger, don't just trust blindly to superiors. Do what your (in that moment probably not well working) brain tells you to. Instinct is there for a reason. It's there to keep you alive.
Being a student at Virginia Tech right now, this is still something that is discussed. Every year on April 16th a 3.2-mile run in remembrance to remember the 32 victims who died that dreadful day. It's horrible that this had to happen. But I am glad that we are stronger as a Virginia Tech Community. We are Virginia Tech and we are Hokies and hokies look out for each other.
What do they expect to happen? - *shooter gets in the class , all lights are off and everyone under the desk, * - oh crap, noone is here ,imma head home-
My social studies teacher said one time "if a school shooter gets into my classroom I'm going down first so you guys can get out." Shes still my favorite teacher to this day even though I dont have her anymore. She was a great teacher ngl
yeah sureeee... because you have a classroom leading to another classroom, who would be locked at that momment so she takes the first shot then you guys don't even get enought time to run and the school shooter would spray you.
Here after the Uvalde school shooting that just occurred, and It's truly sad to hear these kids talk about what their school has done to prepare them for it. When I was a kid the most drills we did were for tornados or huge storms, and kids now a days have to worry about having lockdowns because of a person who chose to end other lives for no reason is truly terrifying to me.
Thats what happens when love is absent. And bullying occurs. One day you run across that one crazy guy that doesnt take it. And snaps. People should learn to love one another and stop bullying their peers
@@cindyb2013 And may I add that we as humans are very unsuccessful at love. Thus why this happens. Christ, however, IS love. And with His Spirit in us we can know love and express love. Are you familiar with the word "agape" ?
My dad was almost a victim of the Virginia Tech shooting. He was teaching that day and luckily not in the building that the shooting was in. Although he was dangerously near. He had forgot his lunch that day and at the time we lived just a 10 minute walked away from our house. If he had not forgot his lunch that day he may not be with us. He was already halfway home when the shooting started and had plenty of time to get off campus. Like I said, if he had not forgot his lunch and walked home that day he very well could have been a victim.
I’m glad that he was okay. That’s incredibly scary to think about for me and I can’t imagine what I’d be feeling if I knew that somebody close to me had almost been a potential victim of a mass shooting at a place dear to them. I hope y’all are good now. 🙂✌🏻
"Okay your turn is coming, just take it, hold on, and that's when he shot me in the back" - that is the most heartbreaking thing i've heard. it makes me so sad but i'm so glad that she survived. it's honestly sad that we have to go to school wondering if we're going to be okay or if we're going to wake up in a hospital, like she did. i hope that this all changes soon. it might not but it's always good to have hope. we'll be okay. all of us. ❤️
Amy Lovejoy indeed. of course it's something extremely traumatizing but the way she handles it is so inspiring. she's sharing her story and she's made a foundation and she's giving children advice about situations like this. it's something that definitely has to be talked about and it's so sad that it's gotten to the point where we actually have to talk about it. but like i said, it's okay
FACTS!!! In my school when in lockdown were supposed to go to the corner of our classroom or if there's no time under the table which is really stupid to say the least. You're supposed to look for ways out or ways to defend yourself which for me I kind of have a way to defend myself because I own pepper spray.....yeah whatever but I also carry a pocket knife for self defense or if I ever need to cut or open something. So i kind of feel safer but again it's a knife against a firearm you can't really defend yourself as much so in the case of finding a way out i'd break the window in my classroom and try to pinpoint the shooter's location and then run away if i feel it's safe. Im leaving im not waiting for someone to clock me in the head just because I was hiding in the class.
@@kidneytransplant2843 once I thought there was gonna be a shooting so I brought my bayonet knife in my backpack but yknow would have been back if I got caught with it
When she "be grateful for traffic" I could relate because me my mum and my sister were going to go to a mall in Melbourne (Australia) because we just flew in from Adelaide but the plane took longer to land, so it was too late to go shopping. We went to our hotel and soon found out we were literally SO CLOSE to possibly being killed in the Burke Street Mall rampage in 2017.
I’ve never experienced a shooting. But when I hear these stories I immediately start crying because I feel so much like sadness and suffrage when people tell stories about how they were once like holding hands with someone and then an hour later they realized they couldn’t do that again. Those stories just turn me into a different person because I immediately feel unsecured and upset and worried when I’m usually happy and outgoing and positive. I also think about my 5th grade language arts teacher who was my favorite teacher and how she would care for every student and it was almost like she had a special connection to every single person she taught so when I think about her, I start thinking like what happens if something like a shooting starts happening and she’s not there to help me or if she’s affected by it because it just is the worst when you feel like your in danger and you want someone that you know can help you through the moment to be there but they aren’t. So I really feel some type of sympathy for the survivors and families of shooting victims and I just want to say how sorry I feel for them and how much it hurts not just the Family, but the person reading about it in an article or watching a video about it too because it really impacts the whole group wether they experienced it or not so I just feel so sorry for shooting victims who did not survive. I also I’m saying this to any shooters reading this because if there are any which is a slight chance, I want them to know that these shooting affect more than they think just like me and yet I don’t even know anyone who’s been in this situation and I’m crying just writing this so please be aware of this before you ruin more peoples lives. Think about how that might’ve been you or how it still could be you. Your whole family would be devastated. Not just that, but strangers like me who understand how the survivors and victims families felt when these situations occurred. If more people put their feet in another persons shoes, than this hopefully won’t happen as often as it currently is. Thank you for reading this if you did.
Very good i've been reading every single comment I live in canada hopefuly this won't happen to me but if I was a sub or a teacher in this I'd have bats bow and arrows and a lot more weapens
The black girl in the pink was so nice. She understood everything she was talking about, she was kind, she didn't seem to upset or too "this is boring", she was just great.
Not really school shootings happen everywhere. It sucks that people judge somthing or someone because it happens a lot its essentially a lot like racism yes a lot of americans have guns but not everyone who owns a gun is bad
[REDACTED] or we could be like the Middle East where women aren’t allowed to walk around without covering their face. And we don’t own guns because of hunting but to defend ourselves from the government.
Thank God though, in my years of schooling in America I didn't ever have a school shooting. Where I school now though is much more strict, literally has barbed wires and guard with rifles and a metal detector. My school in America was literally like open to everyone. Anyone could come in through a window, though the main doors were locked till the office people buzzed you in.......sry 4 da long reply :/
@@willtindall8263 Yes, but school shootings are more common in the US. I do imagine though it is more due to the lack of gun safety. Most gun owners are good with the safety measures they put in place, but there are more cases of people either not being safe enough, or planning attacks in the US.
Ella Rose Vlog’s yeah. I always thought I would play dead, but honestly I might help fight. I love my friends and wouldn’t want to just let them die :(
the key is to hide in either the most obvious spot..or in the most least obvious spot... Example, Hiding in a bin or a bush a way from school grounds Other Example, hiding behind a door, or anywhere thats so dumb a killer wouldn't think your hiding there
@GamerCupcakegirl also if the shooter is at one end of the school they say they might have us go outside and run in the forest near my school which honestly isnt that smart because the shooter could also go outside
I love how she talks and explains to the children. She is calm and detailed. I felt she really knew how to handle each kid and how to tell them about the tragedy that happened to her!
My social studies teacher says, “Don’t tell the principal, but if something goes down I’m grabbing that metal bat and hiding behind that door and whoever comes through that door is losing their head.”
Here after the Uvalde elementary shooting in Texas. 😔 And the Worst thing is that it probably won’t be the last time something like this happens again.
One time that I was in my classroom and heard a Big Bang. Everyone thought it was a gun shot and immediately people started to freak out. A few seconds later we realized that it was just someone shutting the gym doors really loud. That moment made me realize how sad our world really is. It’s so insane how kids today have to fear about someone coming into school with a gun. It was never like this.
Where I'm working is like that but worst, yesterday we went to the mall with my dad and there where soldiers with M16s just... guarding and no ONE person blinked twice, I even saw a guy not look up from his phone.. the world has definetly become a scary place, where ever you are
Makenzie McIntyre my school had a lockdown one time because there was a shooter in the area and the principal announced it over the loudspeaker. now every time i hear the loudspeaker turn on i feel a jolt in my stomach from the flashbacks, even though nothing bad happened. just the panic of “what if” and hearing it happening at other schools.
I remember one time at school an accidental fire alarm went off, and everybody at school started to run to the nearest classroom and block the doors, then we realized it was a fire alarm.(sorry for my English)
That was the saddest part to me for some reason. Such a young person to have already lost their trust in adults. I get that your country is super into guns, but the prize seems to have been traumatizing entire generations. At some point your entire population will have PTSD and they’ll have gotten it before their 9th birthday.
The Sock Nope, kinda like magic. You don't want the evil queen to have magic but a fairy needs magic. There different people, with different objectives.
STORYTIME: So when I was in school, my school went on lockdown. It was halloween, and we were about to say scary stories. Then we heard the alarm. We shared a class with another class, so we opened the door and went in. I didn't know what had happened. When we went to lunch, we all sat in one side away from the outside door. There were 3 teachers blocking the door with bats in their hands. Apparently, there was a threat in the high school next to us
Teachers deserve a fat juicy raise. I hope ur okay. And btw the location of the shooting was Norris Hall (As well as ambler johnston hall but most fatalities occured and norris hall) in Virginia tech, the shooter was Seung-Hei Cho.
My school has monthly active shooter drills, and every single time my Science teacher tells us to use him as a human shield. It breaks my heart that he has/wants to say that because we shouldn’t have to do the drills in the first place
This sounds so unreal for me who is non american. Monthly drills?? In my country we never ever had a school shooting. The worst incident is a stabbing where one person died. But that’s about it. I’m afraid school shootings are now a “hype” in your country. I mean, it gets so planted in everyones brains that a mad person is more likely to do it. Thats my view on it. I’m sure right now some dumbasses are romanticizing to be the next school shooters.
I'm not going to lie, when I ask my teacher to go to the bathroom alone I'm so scared if there's going to be a shooter . It might sound silly but I just get scared. Teachers tell me the stand on the toilet but it still scares me since the stalls aren't that strong. Also when I'm in the hall without the class. I can't imagine what I would do if everyone's doors were already locked and I couldn't get in a class! It's so scary for me to think of it. I hope nothing like that happens in the future, school is already shut bc of Corona
I get that. There was a girl who was sexually assaulted in the bathroom at my school by a random middle aged guy that just walked into the school. Everyone was terrified of leaving the classroom alone and we had to go to the bathroom in buddies. I think it was especially scary for my class because we were the classroom right next to the bathrooms that it happened in at the time. It was our dance room and was kind of secluded and had big curtains that covered the door that we always had closed. No-one heard anything. The scariest part was that a girl in my class went to that same bathroom in the same period- but must've just missed the assault. Later, I heard from someone in the classroom above the bathrooms that their class heard someone yell out, but I can't confirm this. I couldn't go to that bathroom- or any other one really- for ages. I don't know who the girl was, they never told us, but I hope she has recovered from something as traumatic as that.
Omigod we were having a lockdown drill, where one of our security guard aacted as the attacker, and tried to get into our doors. None of the students knew it was happening, of course, so someone went to the bathroom when the drill happened.......it was just a drill, but I never have gone to a school bathroom and never will..........JIC
to be completely blunt, hiding in a bundle in a group is probably the worst idea possible. If the shooter doesn't see anyone, the first thing he will do is start looking in closets. If he opens a closet door and all the kids are inside, that's a whole classroom gone in an instant. There isn't safety in numbers in this case, and I can totally see why she would say follow your instincts, you would really have to rely on your survival instincts.
Elena coutinho -Taylor that's why most schools now a days have extra locks for the door so it is physically impossible for the shooter to get In and there are usually S.R.O which is basically armed police is and there are security cameras
My school teaches it that way, and no one has ever said how bundling up in a group would be helpful. Even if someone tried to fight or run, they wouldn't be able to because they'd be stuck in the blob of students. I feel like we should be taught to find exits within schools in emergencies such as out windows if possible, hidden exits etc. or to flip over desks and use them as shields
Juicy Pear desks as shields won’t do much as most likely they are made of wood and some metal but pretty thin that even a .22 can get through it. They can probably be used as a means of hiding but that’s about it.
Bojg7 Vhhgu doing that 3x would take up way too much resources, time and money. and someone’s mental health can deteriorate greatly or they don’t show any signs whatsoever. no matter how many precautions you take, the risks will never be completely eliminated.
I live in Europe and listening to teens talking about shootings in schools is simply appalling. Please, U.S. people, vote to save these students' lives this fall.
Tony Bamanaboni right, but nobody wants to talk about fixing the problems because they’re more worried about them getting taken away. They’re not more important than another life.
what an inspirational women. to go through something so horrific as that that no one should ever have to go through and still carry on with life normally. that shows perseverance, that shows resilience.
I was not expecting someone who was in one of the rooms that was shot up, let alone someone who was actually shot. When she was explaining in such detail what it felt like to be shot, I got chills
hipnhappenin I was shocked when she said she went to tech I’m like 40 minutes away from their I knew people who went their and was their designing a memorial on the anniversary
My friends say they will try to negotiate with a bag of Cheetos 😕 it didn’t make me laugh because it’s a serious topic and they wouldn’t be laughing anymore and making jokes when it actually happens
if I start thinking about school shootings, it's sad that I actually get more on edge about my surroundings at school. It just heightens the idea that my school could very well have this happen. last year, my county had around 5 gun threats from students sadly
as a high school student myself, there have been days where i’ve refused to go to school with the fear of being killed. i sometimes used to start sobbing in the mornings with that constant fear of it happening. thankfully, it has never happened to me. there are so many kids that i know that struggle with this same fear, and there might be millions of other students that do too. this should never be something we have to worry about. end gun violence.
end violence* violence can happen in many forms and we seem to blame guns. Some person might come in with a bomb some person might come in with a knife a bat anything can happen but we should prepared of it not scared of it.
No it shouldn't be something anyone should have to worry about, just as people going to work, concerts, movies, riding trains, should never have to worry about it. But think of this. There are 330 million people in this country. Lots and lots of people. The likelihood of something like this happening is so low it is off the charts. I think of it this way. If you see a big lawn covered with blades of grass, the lawn could represent all of these 330 million people. Then you take a patch of ground maybe a foot square relatively, that could be the number of people killed in gun violence. Do not let fear rule your life, just go on living your life.
You need to work this fear out and maybe even get counseling of you haven't already. There are many fears and cautions in life... don't let them cripple you living a good life. You deserve it.
Compared to what the world used to be this is not that bad. Imagine being in 1800 Europe and getting killed for no reason or being in North korea getting killed for not liking the leader
Maisie Prescott True! My work has had lock down drills, which is a good thing for sure and I agree even if guns aren’t so much of a fear over here, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be prepared
we have a few different disaster drills (namely fire, tornadoes and earthquakes, as those would be most common in our area and our school is locate directly on a fault line), but lockdown drills are by far the most common one we practice. we had an assembly on shootings at the start of the year and teacher commentary on the classroom-specific procedure in each period.
Totally agree- at our school we've only had one lockdown drill and our teacher never called it that, we just had to turn off all the lights and hide against the classroom wall. Other than that we get plenty of fire drills, as well as the whole "Run, Hide, Tell" thing.
My school has had 2 school shooting threats and one kid brought an Airsoft gun to school, all this year. I don’t feel that safe at my school, of course the people who did the threats and brought the gun to school were expelled. Also my french teacher was very calm during the airsoft lockdown, she looked out in the hallway multiple times and barricade then unbarricade the door.
That is actually the SMARTEST thing you could do bc the best out come is you end up blinding them and they cant see anything so you are lucky to have that class and a smart teacher
In November 2021, there was a school shooting less than 15 miles from my house that occurred in Oxford, Michigan that left 4 dead and 7 injured. One of my 4th grade classmates that ended up transferring to that school later on ended up losing one of her friends in the Oxford High School shooting.
When I was a sophomore in high school, a guy that I had mutual friends with but didnt know very well, planned to shoot up our school. For some reason, the night before he planned to do it, he decided to go to our friend's house to tell him about it. I dont know if it was supposed to be a warning, invite, or "joke," but thank god he took it seriously. Without letting him know, he had his mom call the police. They searched the guys house and found a bomb, guns, and a hitlist which included names of a few of my friends and even his own mom. (She was an aid at the school.) I know a lot of the time, it's not common to have someone outwardly tell you that they plan to do something as insane as shoot up a school but please just take whatever warning you may get.. seriously. You could save your own life, your friends', a sibling.. Be smart. Be safe.

I could be involved in a school shooting as just recent as yesterday literally someone posted a threat to shoot up my school and a teacher found about it and notified the school and police showed up but after that nothing happened but the suspect is still unknown and that is the reason I’m scared because we do not know this person and could potentially be someone that used to be here and 2 years ago someone got hurt from a B.B. gun and my school is in a pretty bad neighborhood but I just wanted y’all to know because like she said take any warning you get Sincerely, David Jimenez
At my school, it was about 11 PM before we were gonna go to lunch, and we were put on lockdown. No one got hurt, but we had to leave school 1 hour late. I found out someone had a hidden gun in the bathroom. so yeah.
KiAnna Nycole, The teachers at my school whenever they talk about it I tear up and also I don't believe it will happen at my school because we're right next to a high school, police department and lot of stores so I think my school is safe
Here in canada, we have only 2 lockdown drills a year, and they aren’t a huge thing. Im so thankful that I have pretty good gun laws, although tragedy still happen rarely.
Here May 25th 2022. Watching after the 28th school shooting in the US. Too many guns in the hands of private citizens. The babies should not fear getting shot at school.
I agree to go with you gut feeling. If I hesr shots and I am able to exit the school I would!! Jumping a fence or a back door something like that! Following teachers is just gonna get you killed
@@gaurimishra1217 I totally agree, if you were to take shots at a group of people there is a higher chance you'll hit multiple people especially powerful guns in close range will cause the bullet to go right through people. Although thinking about either makes me anxious, and I would be too scared to venture myself, if you have a safe way to do so do it. First floor with a large window go for it, gym doors like anything. If you look at the Las Vegas shooting people were running in huge crowds and it gave the shooter a larger target. It's all scary stuff and like she said in the video, you can't say it'll never happen because then you won't be prepared.
if the police are there, you could be seen as a suspect and they might turn their guns on you. the shooter could've surrounded the building or might even be outside waiting to see if some students would try to escape.
I survived a school shooting when I was 7. I hid in the bathroom, and I remember hearing gunshots and the screams of of my other classmates, when he burst in, and shot in the lung and needed a transplant. I dread walking into that room for reunions, well until Covid came along. Nobody start a warzone in the reply section!
I was seven when there was a stabbing outside my school. We didn't know if he got in the school but we all had to hide for around 2 hours. Obviously there were cops around, but I saw their shadows and thought that it was a shooter. We didn't know that it wasn't a drill, we were all sitting under the window. Flipped desks. I still remember every detail of that day.
OML I’m so sorry, glad you’re ok. It’s really sad the amount of comments that say how someone has survived a school shooting. It’s not normal, like it’s a goddamn SCHOOL. And obviously like the really bad ones are more famous but we ignore the ones that don’t make it to the news. It’s so disgusting and sick and gross. And no one does anything about it.
I am actually very proud of hiho kids that they brought older kids to this situation because I feel like if that they brought the younger kids would think about the situation instead of actually listening to what happened so yeah just WELL DONE ! hiho :D
I am shocked to read the comments as an American and see that kids from other countries don’t experience shootings at all or as common. I constantly am always looking for places to run and hide in my classes at school and when at crowded areas like concerts and movie theaters. I am so used to it and I didn’t realize that not all kids in the world have to worry about it.
Kade Bould As a Scottish person, I’m absolutely shocked at the idea that students dread school shootings daily. Nobody in our country owns guns except police and farmers, and even then, policemen on the street usually only carry batons, not guns. Everyone here thinks it’s absurd America hasn’t banned guns (much less the idea of giving teachers guns... wtf?!), and we all hate trump lol
As a Middle Eastern it is a common idea amongst us that America is a very dangerous place. School shootings, serial killers, homeless people, drugs all seem to be centered in the USA. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I'm from France and i'm fucking horrified that you have to think about places to hide in every crowded place you go. I never think about where i could hide, especially in my school. I feel safe in my country (even if there's still a risk, like everywhere in the world) and it's unbelievable that American children have to go through that.
this is crazy. in my country there havent been school shootings (except like one 50 years ago) and like the whole situation in America is wild. its normal already
There was never a school shooting in the 1950's or stuff like that, only columbine and other school shooting but columbine was like 20 years ago or 15 years ago idk but more school shootings happened in the 2000's cause are fucking world is messed up
I've been through a lockdown (it was real, and very serious), and I can confirm that this it almost feels surreal, and your brain has no idea what to feel, so you kind of just feel like, no this can't happen to me. I'm so thankful that I was in my math class, because my teacher went about it in a calm manner, and we all survived.
same i had a shooting at my school and everyone survived luckily and the cops caught the 3 people involved before they could do anything but i was in my french class for 3 hours
She’s so positive. I don’t know what I’d do if something like that happened at my school. I would be so worried for my friends in other classes, but especially for my parents, who work there.
Kadeslookalike fair, at my school we have full permission to run away. Like, out of my school. We run through the quad all the way to the end of the doors, and run to a house.
Tom H, okay first of all, I've seen people say 'strong man" all the time get tf over it. Second of all, don't focus too much on that. Third of all, why can't we acknowledge if someone is strong who just happens to be a woman (doesn't matter the gender, they were just sayin), and last but sure as hell not least, she was freaking shot two times and is sitting here reasoning with these kids. What a strong woman.
As someone who was in a school shooting November 2019 on an OPEN campus, I can assure you, no one is going to be throwing school supplies at them, everyone is running for dear life trying to leave campus as soon and as quick as possible. My school and fellow classmates always made jokes before the scenario happened of "if there was a school shooting we'd all jump the shooter" but of course we never expected the shooting to actually happen UNTIL IT DID. I still remember every second of it and it will constantly replay in my head until the day I die. It's almost been 8 months since and most of my classmates and friends are still traumatized and trying to cope. Most of us cope by making jokes or laughing over it but, there's the neighboring school who thinks that if we can joke about it, so can they. And I understand their reasoning but for us, it's deeply offensive.
Monkai Brown tell them to keep an eye out.I’m a 7th grader and I already know people who are already smoking weed or acting’s like they’re hot shits because they get caught smoking or bringing weapons to school. It’s better to get it into their heads that ,that kind of stuff isn’t cool ,rather then discovering it on there on when they are 12 or 13 when puberty starts and they become more independent.Because by then they’re gonna question if you really know what’s best for them.
Adam Well here in Tennessee you can only purchase a handgun at 18 but you can’t even carry it around. It has to be kept in home. At 21 then you can get permit to carry.
@@natbluecat5332 question: in order to learn to use it, can you carry that specific gun at the shooting ranges? Or you just have it there and learn how to use it with something provided there?

Not really school shootings happen everywhere. It sucks that people judge somthing or someone because it happens a lot its essentially a lot like racism yes a lot of americans have guns but not everyone who owns a gun is bad
Though shootings are more common in the US due to the lack of more extreme and protective rules
[REDACTED] or we could be like the Middle East where women aren’t allowed to walk around without covering their face. And we don’t own guns because of hunting but to defend ourselves from the government.
Thank God though, in my years of schooling in America I didn't ever have a school shooting. @@willtindall8263 Yes, but school shootings are more common in the US. I do imagine though it is more due to the lack of gun safety. Most gun owners are good with the safety measures they put in place, but there are more cases of people either not being safe enough, or planning attacks in the US.
The fact that the shooter shot almost everyone is terrifying. We always think “if we just hide they won’t shoot us” or something but... just wow.

I hope nothing like that happens in the future, school is already shut bc of Corona
Hadiya Khan you are probably actually safer hiding in the restroom then you are the classroom
I don't know who the girl was, they never told us, but I hope she has recovered from something as traumatic as that.

to be completely blunt, hiding in a bundle in a group is probably the worst idea possible.
Golden Games HD that’s horrible 😔
Elena coutinho -Taylor that's why most schools now a days have extra locks for the door so it is physically impossible for the shooter to get
In and there are usually S.R.O which is basically armed police is and there are security cameras
Elena Coutinho-Taylor i do that but hide in the back and play dead
My school teaches it that way, and no one has ever said how bundling up in a group would be helpful. Even if someone tried to fight or run, they wouldn't be able to because they'd be stuck in the blob of students. I feel like we should be taught to find exits within schools in emergencies such as out windows if possible, hidden exits etc. or to flip over desks and use them as shields
Juicy Pear desks as shields won’t do much as most likely they are made of wood and some metal but pretty thin that even a .22 can get through it. They can probably be used as a means of hiding but that’s about it.

It’s sad that we have to be scared about this in America
I live in Europe and Believe me, we arent scared and we feel safe going to school
I'm terrified to go to school everyday knowing that this could happen
My friends say they will try to negotiate with a bag of Cheetos 😕 it didn’t make me laugh because it’s a serious topic and they wouldn’t be laughing anymore and making jokes when it actually happens
if I start thinking about school shootings, it's sad that I actually get more on edge about my surroundings at school. It just heightens the idea that my school could very well have this happen. last year, my county had around 5 gun threats from students sadly
I mean I'm from europe and we are fine lol
My aunt was there at the time it’s so sad and scary.. and the fact that we are still dealing with this today is so sick
Love peace to Uvalde
as a high school student myself, there have been days where i’ve refused to go to school with the fear of being killed. i sometimes used to start sobbing in the mornings with that constant fear of it happening.
thankfully, it has never happened to me. there are so many kids that i know that struggle with this same fear, and there might be millions of other students that do too.
this should never be something we have to worry about.
end gun violence.
end violence* violence can happen in many forms and we seem to blame guns. Some person might come in with a bomb some person might come in with a knife a bat anything can happen but we should prepared of it not scared of it.
me too, it’s always random too some days i just have such a bad feeling and like physically can’t get up it’s so sad. end gun violence.
@@reynaldoponce2062 But making guns so easily purchasable increases the risk of violence. That’s the point.
The fact that American children have to go through this is insane :(

cofeebeans Never said that! Sadly terrorist attacks are unpredictable and happening everywhere, school shootings however are mainly an issue in the US
Maisie Prescott True!

(She was an aid at the school.) I know a lot of the time, it's not common to have someone outwardly tell you that they plan to do something as insane as shoot up a school but please just take whatever warning you may get.. seriously.
“You’ll be fine just hide under your desk”
if the police are there, you could be seen as a suspect and they might turn their guns on you. the shooter could've surrounded the building or might even be outside waiting to see if some students would try to escape.
